The Director’s Cut, founded by Amit J & Kamal J, is a creative film & photography company specialising predominantly in Asian Weddings.

The Director’s Cut is an edited version of the Film and Photography, representing the Director’s own approved edit.
To achieve this, The Director’s Cut Team are each highly skilled at artistically composing those special shots for couples on their wedding day, dressed in smart uniform and communicating with each other using wireless earpieces which enables them to position discretely and in a co-ordinated manner as not to overcrowd yet produce a masterpiece.
On your day you will get typically have a minimum of 5 crew members, including an editor backing up workflow to ensure your precious memories are not lost, and speeds up the post production process due to planning and layout of sequences.
Once back at the editing suite, the Director’s frequently visit to tweak the photography and film, before delivering the final product - The Director’s Cut

van M - (BA in Film & TV Editing, MA in Picture /Image Editing) Is the Chief Editor for The Director’s Cut & is responsible for evaluating and editing content, along with managing the editing team to ensure the highest standards of cinematography film is produced. With a background of editing the documentary series ’Sezonci’, short film ‘Arrival’ and also video assisting with ’Star Wars Episode VIII’ Ivan helps produce the magic behind The Director’s Cut’s films.

About The Director’s Cut

The Director’s Cut creativity and technical equipment sets the company apart from others, providing an infusion of high end fashion-based and photojournalistic approach to wedding cinematography. Combining candid angles of the events of the day with structured direction towards newlywed couples and helping them feel at ease, enhances their experience on the happiest day of their lives.

Siblings Amit J & Kamal J came from a photographic background, with their father an enthusiast in fine art photography & film, they grew to love and appreciate the possibilities of imagery, and discovered a deeper impact in translating this art into perfecting film production.

Director Kamal J gained a Masters in multimedia & film production, in which his style has been widely recognised to be modern and artistic, with a highly technical understanding. Kamal focuses on continual training for all cinematographers in the team. Director Amit J, passionately enjoys training photographers to capture in the most effective way, and is known for his unique eye for creativity and chemistry between newlyweds. Together their approach for the team to capture a blend of natural and posed moments for every wedding comes easily, paying attention to intricate detail – from joy, laughter, celebrations, dancing, to emotional moments with family.

With the qualities of passionate Directors they have managed to reveal the magic beyond to the typical Asian film making industry, achieving romantic settings for newlyweds with ease and bringing out the chemistry effectively to create a masterpiece film.

They feel honoured to be able to build a story beautifully told for each wedding. Film making over the years has inspired the brothers to dedicate their lives to specialise in true creativity and it’s interpretation.
What sets The Director’s Cut aside from others, is the skill to recognise how an film can be most appreciated at that precise point, to secure that sacred moment to last a lifetime.
The Director’s Cut has an extensive portfolio covering Hindu /Gujarati, Muslim, Sikh /Punjabi, Christian and Civil Weddings. It is imperative to appreciate the importance of culture, rituals, traditions and values in order for them and their teams to capture effectively. Engaging and professional towards guests, their warm and friendly personality sets people at ease to enjoy those special family moments, allowing as much opportunity for stunning film capture.

The Director’s Cut takes pleasure in travelling to various locations throughout the United Kingdom and Worldwide to capture those perfect wedding moments, held in natural and picturesque wedding location settings such as Thailand, India, Rome, Paris, Mauritius & Lake Como. The team have also collaborated on various high end projects ranging from tutorial video production, London Fashion events, Asian Wedding Show, Asiana Exhibitions to Miss India UK Finals.

Both Directors are passionate about sharing their knowledge on photography and cinematography, and have setup a special training program and regularly teaches others how to diverse their skills including visual storytelling, composition, digital workflow, film production, image enhancement, and much more. The Directors believe in using only the latest top quality equipment for every event they attend. The ability to further creativity, whether that be using the
latest technology in drone & crane usage, 360 cameras, top range cameras for beautiful bokeh “blur regions”, fine lighting techniques to paint any subject with softness and character, is essential to create the desired masterpiece film and album.
A dedicated film crew is at hand, dressed in smart uniform and wearing wireless ear pieces for effective communication & positioning giving that peace of mind that nothing will be missed on your special day whether that be photography or film.
