We are sorry that it is not possible for us to trade this Sunday .
We still have wet varnish on the bar for one example. We want to be operating as soon as possible electricians and plumbers are back next week. This all needs to happen now to be the pub you deserve in the very near future.
I want it to be right and I would like to get all done at this quiet time of year to prevent interruption down the line. Please be patient and will make it very clear when we will open ... To the public and for usual business.

I Ben Jones (landlord) of The Dovecote would like to firstly appologise for not been open this evening as promised.
To prevent any accidents we can not open this evening due to winter temperatures the paint drying times have increased and for that reason we have not been able to complete in time and still have wet surfaces .
We will have ongoing works around business hours and more to bring The Dovecote up to a standard that we and you are happy with

Once again happy new year from the dovecote, our favourite pub is undergoing a makeover ready to serve our loyal guests and future custom it will be under refurbishment until 13th of January of course business as usual from then onwards. Look forward to seeing you all over the coming year......

We will be offering food on the night e.g mushy peas, pies, mash potatoe, jacket potatoes, sweet jacket potatoes, fillings (cheese beans, tuna mayo, bolognese, chilly con carne)hot dogs, chips and salad available also
... For this week/bonfire night our guest cask ale will be Fireside Ale did you know we now have Fosters, Stella and Thatchers Gold Cider on draft!!
First load of fire Wood four more loads to come, so don't worry about being cold this bonfire night at The Dovecote!
We are going to wait for the majority of spectators to arrive as well as darkness for full visual effect from the bonfire and fireworks this Saturday night, asstemeted between 6-7:30 pm.

Visited on Sat night as just reopened after a refurb lovely people trying to get the spirit of the pub back up and running. Listening to their customers. New chef who cook a lovely steak. Good luck guys keep smiling οΏ½ xx
The carvery is much better than it used to be! And the new owners are so much more friendly and welcoming!
Lovely meal once again the new couple trying really hard & are willing to hear customer feed back and ideas οΏ½
