Quick question ladies and gentlemen. We are looking at planning and hosting a Murder Mystery evening. We would like to know what people would be willing to pay. The event would last between 2-3 hours, fully interactive with professional actors and a 3 course meal. Is £80 to £100 reasonable?

Wow. Lovely country pub but in the city. The staff were faultless, very polite and attentive. The food was beautiful and very good value for how good it tasted. Highly recommended 5*

Went Saturday night, party of 6 to celebrate my birthday, ordered a range of different meals from the menu, food was excellent, service also excellent, would definitely go again.

We visited the Duke William this week - 15/16 August to celebrate my birthday and I wasn't disappointed! The hotel is close to Lincoln cathedral and is situated in a beautiful part of Lincoln which is well worth a visit.



The room we were allocated was amazing spacious and comfortable and the food outstanding! The staff were friendly, courteous and very helpful as well as attentive. We were welcomed into the hotel and felt at home as soon as we walked through the door! The hotel is tastefully decorated and furnished and cleanliness second to none. We can't rate this hotel and the staff highly enough. We certainly will be returning and would certainly recommend a stay to anyone!

The food was great and the people were awesome. Big help if things go wrong. I recommend going.

Spent a great weekend here with friends, lovely place, great location & wonderful comfy beds!! Would deffinately stay again.

I came in last night with my girlfriend for a few drinks and loved it in there, the food looked and smelled beautiful, really wished we found this place first before we had food elsewhere, will defo becoming back here next time we are in Lincoln.

Have just stayed here for the weekend and have had a fabulous time. The pub is very quaint with a great atmosphere. We had dinner in the hotel Saturday evening and the food was fab. We stayed in the hotel which was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The room is decorated to a high standard and has everything you could want. The breakfast was great with a plenty of variety. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Cannot fault anything and would definitely recommend. Will definitely book again.

Great place with attentive staff, good atmosphere and fab food. Only criticism is the starters available were not to the taste of all of our table, some other options with no fish, blue cheese or black pudding would have been Great. Upon asking I was able to amend a starter to my liking. We will be back. Definatly a great place

Gorgeous meal here for a table of 6. Beautiful food everyone enjoyed. Mussels are just � perfect!! Service and surroundings great. Highly recommend even on a busy Saturday night. Can't wait to come back ��

Absolutely love this place, couldn't do enough for us.. we got engaged last night and we came to breakfast and were gifted with some prosecco � every single one of the staff are so so friendly! Beautiful room, fantastic location! Will definitely be returning !! Thank you xxx

Absolutely fantastic place, clean, comfortable, inviting we had a great weekend, room was fabulous big bed amazing , drinks pricey though, staff and breakfast outstanding.

This is a lovely old inviting pub and restaurant. The staff were very busy but attentive. We went for my birthday on Sunday and we were a table of 7. The food was not as good as we were expecting unfortunately. The Sunday roasts were swimming in gravy so much that you couldn't differentiate the vegetables. Two of our party had the lamb which was £16.95. One of the party just couldn't eat it as it was so tough but the other did eat and chew her way through it. The mussels were good however.

I don't think we would go for Sunday lunch again but may try a bar meal as the place does have ambiance.

We did mention the lamb and were given one free dessert. The staff were apologetic.

8 of us went last night. Great surroundings brilliant staff great beer and the best steak i have had in ages.

The food was great, although the menu wasn’t a very exciting choice but our reservation had been lost which caused some anxiety at the start of the evening. All in all by the end we had a very enjoyable evening.

The building itself is nice. The staff were very attentive, excellent. On the minus side some of the food (2 of the 7 meals),were over cooked. Chips looked like old chips reheated. The fish cakes, were potatoes & flecks of fish. The battered fish was greasy.

We were celebrating a birthday, & some of us have hearing problems. The acustics were awful! Could not hear ourselves speak, over the noise from the other tables, like being at a football match.

As it was a celebration, we didn't complain therefore, I appreciate that the staff could not rectify any issues mentioned in this blog. It would be a nice dining experience on a quieter night.

I went in for a quick pre dinner drink and spent much longer in there than I planned. Not because of its charm and ambiance, but because it proved almost impossible to get served. Sadly too few staff working and those that were, seemed inexpexperienced and struggled running between the busy restaurant and bar. The management need to ensure that there is at least one member of the team manning the bar. I was one of many promised "I'll be with you in a moment" to be left waiting while the sever just disappeared back in the restaurant never to be seen again.

Having dinner with a group of 6 friends on a Saturday evening. The foods & drinks were very nicely cooked & presented well, both arriving quickly, separately. However the service was slow; having to gain a server's attention for each course & drinks when we could, though the courtesy call was prompt, though having no rapport with a service was lacking for me. Otherwise I'd like to return on a quieter evening or for lunch maybe??
