Friday 28th September 10am to 12 noon, we will be hosting our annual Macmillan coffee morning. It would be great to get help and support from our lovely customers 😜 Heres how you can help.... 1, bake a cake, fairy cakes or biscuits and drop off at the Green Man before the event, we will then display and serve on the day. 2, join us on the 28th September for Coffee and Cake (or tea if you prefer) and make simply make a donation. ... We regularly visit the green man and are always more then happy with the food , the service is excellent and very welcoming. Definately a place I would always recommend others to visit.

We only popped in for a drink in the sunshine but my kids being kids lost their ball over the fence. One of your staff went above and beyond to get them their ball back, even helped look for it, unfortunately we didn't get the ball back but the boys and ourselves were very grateful that you took the time to help at all. Thank you. We will definitely be returning xx

My wife & I have returned many times as my wife's disabled & can not eat adult full meal plus has a problem swallowing, we order a child's meal for her and extra gravy, our meals have alway been lovely. And nothing is an issue, we was at the beechwood and told we could not order a child meal for an adult, well without going it to medical reasons with the staff who had to go ask the duty manager, talk about not making a fuss, so will not go to the beechwood again. Thank you Green Man

Meals for 5 people tonight absolutely lovely. Substituted salad for chips as required & what a beautiful salad it was, delicious. We could not be happier & will definitely be back. Comfortable, nice ambience, helpful staff. Thank you Green Man. x

We sat outside in the sun, lovely garden and peacefull for the kids to play on the play area.

We was the first ones there from opening and it quickly filled up,

We ordered a sandwich each for lunch and a kids meal, I ordered a grilled hallomi burrito and a child's grilled hallomi wrap, when they came they looked nice and presented well, however the hallomi didn't appear to be cooked let alone grilled, I didn't complain as it was still very nice.

We had sweet potato fries which was lovely.

Was asked twice if the meal was ok and cleared our plates quickly once finished.

Service nice and polite staff, been several times now and a good experience on all occasions

Peas were not listed as a side on the menu and I figured they'd maybe charge me an extra £1.00 or something....nope, £2.29!!!!! Seriously!?

Anyway needless to say I won't be returning as can get a far better quality meal for less money.

28th Sept /Went for tea after having the grandkids for the day, big mistake � I ordered the Tender veal pie in rich red wine gravy !!! the veal was fatty, chewy and horrible I just couldn't eat it, totally put me off my meal so I hardly ate anything. My husband ordered the mixed grill which was just edible but not enjoyable and only about 6chips. No one asked if every thing was ok and our table wasn't cleared,so when my hubby went to pay the bill and was asked, he told them and they said they will inform the suppliers of the pies � Sorry but this is the 3rd time we have given you another chance but we won't be coming back, such a shame because we were going to book our family Christmas dinner for 16people as we had the last 2yrs but just dare not risk it �

Went tonight my husband daughter and our small dog well what can I say I packed our dog up with his food and it looked better than what was served to us my daughter had chicken burger with chips and crispy salad. Couldn't find crispy salad unless it was the soggy mess in the bun the chicken was that dry and chewy even our dog wouldn't touch it half a dozen chips in a bowl ok if ur on a diet. My husband only wanted a bowl of chips think he got around 7 for £2.49 i had the wagu burger with 6 chips and a piece of soggy tomato oh and a half a sliver of gerkin slapped in a soggy bun not once did any one come and check if our meal was ok we only went to here as it was dog friendly. Certainly not human will not be returning. Paid £33 for this disgusting mess would have complained. Personally but could not. Find. Server. On leaving. Saw her having. Cig. Outside.

We went out on saturday afternoon for a drink and a plateau,which was very nice BUT while we were there the music was far to loud,there were lots of children running round the bar ,the young girls behind the bar were very polite but they need more staff to serve as they wasnt behind the bar much at all,there were very undesirable people coming and going, but since we were last there its gone drastically downhill we wont be drinking or eating in there again

We treated family and friends on Saturday evening. The car park was full which I thought was encouraging.

However ... The staff were rushed off their feet and service was, therefore, really slow.

Starters eventually arrived which were quite nice but portions were a little on the mean side for the price charged.

There was a really long wait until our mains were served.

The lamb shanks were tender (cooked in a bag and fool-proof?). However, the accompanying vegetables were stone-cold.

Unfortunately, it was also bad news for everyone else...

Meat lasagne tasted burnt - It was solid black at the base.

Rib-eye steak was totally tough - couldn't chew it.

Gammon was also shoe leather and inedible.

Staff were to-ing and fro-ing, looking anxious.

We overheard a conversation nearby and they were complaining about their meals to a member of staff who was most apologetic..... then, we called staff over to do likewise. Within a couple of minutes, a large party at a third table also started to complain.

What a shame - the pub looks lovely and cosy but we shall only return if we hear that food has improved dramatically.

Steak and onion focassia £6.95 came in a panini with 4 bits of sliced thin steaks soggy onions and cold..wife ordered southern fried chicked that also came in a panini..2 pieces cold..with sweet potato flavourless chips £5.95..two pints two poor made sandwiches for the grand total of £18..dont waste your money go somewhere else..tasteless and cold

We ordered a sandwich each for lunch and a kids meal, I ordered a grilled hallomi burrito and a child's grilled hallomi wrap, when they came they looked nice and presented well, however the hallomi didn't appear to be cooked let alone grilled, I didn't complain as it was still very nice.

We had sweet potato fries which was lovely.

Was asked twice if the meal was ok and cleared our plates quickly once finished.

Service nice and polite staff, been several times now and a good experience on all occasions

Just had christmas dinner. Service was excellent and the meal good though had no potatoes with meal??? Starter was very good (prawn cocktail) and had cheese board for dessert - large portion though 2 cheeses were not enjoyable 4 people in the party of 6 agreed should have had a cheddar or red Leicester there only recognised the blue cheese.

Usually do not have a bad thing to say about this place but tonight's service was so poor. It was so quiet, a table of 12 for birthday meal and we ended up having to clear our plates ourselves after being left sat there with them in front of us for half an hr after we had finished whilst tables which had already got emptied where cleaned! Not the best

Had a lovely catch up with my sister, the pub itself is great just one problem when you order fish and chips I expected a whole piece of fish not half

Food was ok, but definitely overpriced. I ordered a lasagne and had to choose between chips or salad (most places if you order lasagne it comes with chips and either a side salad or peas). On the plus side we weren't left waiting long, but chips weren't great and you don't get too many as they are served in a pot. My plate looked very bland so I asked for a small portion of peas. Waitress went off and came back with a small side plate of peas and I mean nothing more than a small portion size. How much do I owe you I ask? Peas were not listed as a side on the menu and I figured they'd maybe charge me an extra £1.00 or something....nope, £2.29!!!!! Seriously!?

Anyway needless to say I won't be returning as can get a far better quality meal for less money.

To be fair in the review, the other 3 people I was with had burgers of different kinds which all looked pretty good, even if one had to chase up for their side of onion rings and like mine, their portion of chips were not fab.

A group of us had booked in for meal on Saturday evening. The food was ok. Lots of ordered Lamb Shank. All ok but one. No meat on it, it was all fat. Manager was happy to not let us pay for that conserving they were £11.29! The customer service from the older lady waiting tables was a bit lacking and looked stressed. Also there weren't many desserts on offer, so was told we could only have what was left. As there were 16 of us I would have thought they would have had enough food in! One of the desserts had something green in it - not sure what it was, so didn't pay for that either. It's a shame because I've eaten here a few times and it's been good. Hopefully just an off night! 😕

28th Sept /Went for tea after having the grandkids for the day, big mistake � I ordered the Tender veal pie in rich red wine gravy !!! the veal was fatty, chewy and horrible I just couldn't eat it, totally put me off my meal so I hardly ate anything. My husband ordered the mixed grill which was just edible but not enjoyable and only about 6chips. No one asked if every thing was ok and our table wasn't cleared,so when my hubby went to pay the bill and was asked, he told them and they said they will inform the suppliers of the pies � Sorry but this is the 3rd time we have given you another chance but we won't be coming back, such a shame because we were going to book our family Christmas dinner for 16people as we had the last 2yrs but just dare not risk it �

Went tonight my husband daughter and our small dog well what can I say I packed our dog up with his food and it looked better than what was served to us my daughter had chicken burger with chips and crispy salad. Couldn't find crispy salad unless it was the soggy mess in the bun the chicken was that dry and chewy even our dog wouldn't touch it half a dozen chips in a bowl ok if ur on a diet. My husband only wanted a bowl of chips think he got around 7 for £2.49 i had the wagu burger with 6 chips and a piece of soggy tomato oh and a half a sliver of gerkin slapped in a soggy bun not once did any one come and check if our meal was ok we only went to here as it was dog friendly. Certainly not human will not be returning. Paid £33 for this disgusting mess would have complained. Personally but could not. Find. Server. On leaving. Saw her having. Cig. Outside.

We went out on saturday afternoon for a drink and a plateau,which was very nice BUT while we were there the music was far to loud,there were lots of children running round the bar ,the young girls behind the bar were very polite but they need more staff to serve as they wasnt behind the bar much at all,there were very undesirable people coming and going, but since we were last there its gone drastically downhill we wont be drinking or eating in there again

We treated family and friends on Saturday evening. The car park was full which I thought was encouraging.

However ... The staff were rushed off their feet and service was, therefore, really slow.

Starters eventually arrived which were quite nice but portions were a little on the mean side for the price charged.

There was a really long wait until our mains were served.

The lamb shanks were tender (cooked in a bag and fool-proof?). However, the accompanying vegetables were stone-cold.

Unfortunately, it was also bad news for everyone else...

Meat lasagne tasted burnt - It was solid black at the base.

Rib-eye steak was totally tough - couldn't chew it.

Gammon was also shoe leather and inedible.

Staff were to-ing and fro-ing, looking anxious.

We overheard a conversation nearby and they were complaining about their meals to a member of staff who was most apologetic..... then, we called staff over to do likewise. Within a couple of minutes, a large party at a third table also started to complain.

What a shame - the pub looks lovely and cosy but we shall only return if we hear that food has improved dramatically.

Steak and onion focassia £6.95 came in a panini with 4 bits of sliced thin steaks soggy onions and cold..wife ordered southern fried chicked that also came in a panini..2 pieces cold..with sweet potato flavourless chips £5.95..two pints two poor made sandwiches for the grand total of £18..dont waste your money go somewhere else..tasteless and cold
