It has been a bit of a bumpy road over the past few weeks here at the Greyhound, we know that we have made mistakes and we have listened to your feedback. Having taken this on board, we are ready to start afresh and are excited to implement the changes we need to make.
Starting from today we will be closed on a Monday and Tuesday, this will give our team two days off to rest and be ready for the week ahead. We will however, now be open from 12noon for the remainder of the we...ek. Our chef team will be serving food through until 9pm Wednesday to Saturday and until 8pm on a Sunday.
A warm welcome awaits for all, whether you are a regular customer, are visiting us for the first time or are old customers who we extend an invitation to revisit us under the fresh start.

User

We visited on the 19th July for our evening meal. We were greeted by friendly staff who asked us to find a table and they brought our drinks over to us. The meals were gorgeous. All home cooked and beautifully presented. We had a lovely evening. So glad we have somewhere nice and friendly to go to in Birstall.

User

We had a meal here yesterday to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday. From the moment we arrived the staff could not do enough for us, allowing us to decorate the table, bringing out the cake and checking to make sure everything was ok. The food was delicious, everybody thoroughly enjoyed it and the prices were very reasonable. Would highly recommend and we will certainly be back soon.

User

We had a beautiful Sunday lunch here yesterday, lovely food and very friendly staff. Will definitely be going back.

User

We attended the bonfire and firework display last night and have to Congratulate all the organisers and members of staff on their achievements. It was a lovely evening and the live music was a bonus!

I hope you have huge success with The Greyhound, just what Birstall needs.

User

Great food and fantastic service

User

Fantastic pub! Ate here with family one Friday teatime - 7 adults, 1 child and 1 baby - and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, decent portion sizes and very reasonably priced. Drinks aren't expensive either. A very traditional English pub with a nice relaxing atmosphere.

We only live up the road so will definitely start visiting more frequently!

User

Fabulous lunch today with family. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The Hunters Chicken we were told would be hand prepared so take 30 mins which was absolutely fine and absolutely worth it .. Lovely Smooth Blonde Ale to wash it all down . We will be back for sure.

User

Delicious home cooked hearty food. Just been with a party of 5 for 2 courses and drinks. Steak was divine with vine tomatoes and chunky chips. Prices are more than reasonable and really good portion sizes. Staff are welcoming and attentive. Will definitely be returning, thank you to all at the Greyhound

User

Second Sunday in a row ... Lovely, hearty Sunday Roast dinners, Yorkshire pudding is definitely the "Star of the Show"... The desserts are beautifully presented and taste as beautiful as they look. Oh, and they have my husband's favourite beer on draught (Birra Moretti) , which is a big bonus.

The staff is always so friendly, and accommodating.

Would've given 5*, except for the fact that they've run out of sausages (for the Sausage & Mash dish) and gravy at 5 on a Sunday afternoon. I think it's a bit odd "to run out" of gravy on a Sunday afternoon. I think no matter how busy the establishment is, I'm sure there's always time to make a bit more gravy. (just a bit of constructive criticism). Still, we enjoyed our meal and would recommend The Greyhound to friends & family and will surely go back again.. and again.

User

Lovely meal, good value and great service. What more do you need from a local pub?

User

If the pub trade had at least two nights a week as busy as the Greyhound was yesterday (Boxing day) afternoon, it would be in a far better position than it currently is. Great afternoon everyone, thank you!

User

Food was amazing, only downside was we asked if the crumble was just apple and the chef said yes, it weren't and my husband couldn't eat it, but service was great too,

User

We have had 5 meals there since last August always good . Brought friends /family with us ,everyone says they have enjoyed the food .But please could you provide de caf coffee since I wrote this I have been twice recently once the meals were not very hot .yesterday we felt service had dropped, and meals are not as good value ,2 of our party steak and ale pudding was overcooked .l in our party didn't like crumble said custard cold sorry

User

OK,so good price on drinks, starters OK, apart from 1 (pate) came out 5mins after rest. Mains, Burger /chips OK, Sunday Dinners, again, 1 came 5 mins after the rest. poorly presented, Black Green beans, no braised cabbage, (as stated on menu) Nice Yorkshire pudding.!. But covered in Extremely Salty Gravy! . (that coming from someone who Always puts salt on & didn't!

Sorry, But if not Honest, Can't improve!

User

Went today for fathers day lunch, so very disappointed. Roast dinner advertised above bar at £7.95, when I wanted to pay they said it had been put up for father's day, cheeky sods!! Had to wait 40 minutes for our meal. Won't be going again. Rubbish service both at bar & for food
