What a beautiful hotel. We spent one night in a luxurious room where we couldn't fault anything. Our evening meal and breakfast were delicious. The staff were attentive, friendly and informative. We've even made enquiries about returning with the family later in the year. An overall lovely experience.

User

Went there for dinner. The food was fantastic. I'm on a restricted diet and they accommodated my requests without any fuss. When I said I couldn't have bread, the waitress only brought the bread appetiser for my husband. For desert I didn't fancy anything offered. In the mood for cheese and crackers. Not a problem. We got cheese and crackers!

User

We stayed overnight on Friday and really cannot express how lovely our visit was. The food was superb, the staff and owners Paul and Tina were really attentive and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.

We will definitely be back for another visit soon. Thank you again xx

User

We stayed in Cromford recently for a few days and went into The Greyhound for a drink. Really great place, we went in a couple of times with our puppy Flo and the staff could have not been more helpful or attentive. Great atmosphere and friendly locals, we were made to feel very welcome even though we were from outside the area. An extensive wine list and a selection of local ales which pleased both my husband and I, a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Would definitely come back and recommend to others. Thanks for having us 😊

We called on the off chance, we were passing through late on Friday night. Checking on TripAdvisor for somewhere to stop with good ratings.

Booked online saving a few £.

Arrived to a warm welcome shown to our room, very clean and furnished to a high standard,

We required food, a wide range of food on the menu, we had garlic mushrooms and the crab as starters, followed by the Pasta dish, chicken, chorizo in a creamy sauce, followed by the lemon cheese cake with orange sorbet.

Best food I have eaten for a dam long time.

I was very impressed with the food, Michelin star quality with a pub grub price tag !!!!!!.

Great breakfast too.

Will we go back to the Greyhound?

100% yes

Oh almost forgot a great selection of GIN'S too.....

User

We ate here on Sunday 16th April for the first time. The Greyhound has certainly changed for the better since the new owners took this beautiful building on. The interior has been renovated to create a really welcoming & relaxing atmosphere. The Sunday lunch was excellent, the roast beef served pink, as we requested, and clearly of the best quality and served with a good selection of vegetables. The waitress was attentive without being intrusive. We can also recommend that you have a dessert, we had Lemon Posset and Chocolate Mousse, both of which were wonderful. We will definitely visit again soon. Thank you Greyhound Inn for serving good quality food, in fabulous surroundings in such a welcoming manner.

User

Very welcoming staff. Lovely for quiet afternoon tea or evening meal and dog friendly. Happy to accommodate me for an early check in as room was ready and an early checkout breakfast. Thank you.

User

Sorry we didn't get chance to say cheerio, but just wanted to say thank you for a fantastic meal and great hospitality x

User

Seen this place on Facebook and on line but also knew of the place from goin to cromford chip shop so was dying to try it so 5 of us went for Sunday lunch which was absolutely fantastic the portions were very generous and the price was reasonable to I will definitely try again probably the normal menu but the Sunday lunch was very good

User

Just returned home from our second stay at the Greyhound this year. Our room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was comfy with good quality cotton bedding. We ate with friends in the restaurant and we were all delighted with how delicious the food was. The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

User

Just returned from a short stay at the Greyhound hotel. We will definitely be back.

The room itself was lovely and spotlessly clean, the restaurant and bar, cosy and inviting.. and the breakfast was fab !!

The owners were really friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.

Thanks for a really great couple of days.

5 stars from us !! Xx

User

Just passing through as we took the wrong road out of matlock. Stopped in for a coffee Lovely place. Coffee Very hot as a coffee should be . Staff was lovely. We will be back.

User

Just been for a meal and it was absolutely fantastic would recommend it and will be coming back very soon.

User

Had really warm welcome from owner Tina and staff, hotel is really homely and very welcoming. Rooms are comfy and clean with little extras.

Wish we had been able to have dinner as good choice of meals, but we did have lovely full english and vegetarian version next morning.

Would certainly stay there again. Thank you

User

Gorgeous hotel, very welcoming and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely spacious, clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Omg the food was delicious and very reasonable on price. Also such a wonderfully stocked bar, loved trying some of the Gins you have, could have stayed happily drinking gin all weekend in your lounge . Thanks for a wonderful stay. Will defiantly be back in the future xx

User

Fantastic Hotel/Bar, amazing staff, extremely accommodating to overtired loud children after a long journey. Spotless rooms, comfy beds & great breakfast. Can't fault a thing.

User

Fab meal with my family Sunday evening 7.00pm - not many other local places open Sunday evening, so this was a great find !!

Wow we all were impressed wiyh this terrific place to eat out and can fully recommend, its definitely worth a visit!

We 100% will be returning

The Greyhound has had a fab recent refurb with exceptional staff and excellent service - not an extensive menu choice, but we regard that as a bonus, and not over priced either. The menu and food flavours were superb, with generous portions and plentiful veg - Red cabbage, cauliflower, green beans and carrots.

User

Lovely building and amazing food. My only bugbear is that you cannot get outside late at night. I think giving visitors a key to the actual building would be a great help. Also a fan in the rooms would be fab as the rooms facing the road are noisy and you cannot sleep with the windows open.

User

I should be clear: Four stars is *very good* - I dont think there was anything wrong with The Greyhound at all but I reserve five stars for the best of the best. Would you stay at a five star hotel? In a heartbeat. A four star hotel? No hesitation. And I would return to The Greyhound without any hesitation. My Dad and his wife stayed in the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the accomodation. I ate there in the evening and at lunchtime so had both menus. Both menus were spot on and both parties (without kids in the evening and with at lunchtime) enjoyed all their meals. The Greyhound offer a modern pub selection: steaks, burgers, pizza, fish choices, local lamb. My dad particularly enjoyed the suet pastry on the steak and ale pie; the steaks were cooked perfectly: medium was medium and medium rare was medium rare. In fact everything was how it should have been. Portions were just right for dinner and lunch. I want to say it was all bloody lovely but not sure Facebook will let me :-) Staff were young but on the ball: pleasant and efficient. Perfect for family meals and we'll be back.
