The Marina Café, Sawley Marina

We visited for breakfast yesterday during my visit to my daughter and her family nearby. The staff were lovely and welcoming and breakfast was excellent – there was a choice of full English or mini English which was more than enough for us! Their toddler was made equally welcome and was taken care of with his own little breakfast. My daughter and son-in-law will definitely be visiting again and are looking forward to further breakfasts and also trying the Friday fish and chips. Thank you!

We paid a repeat visit on Sunday and as usual first-class service spotlessly clean really friendly staff and superb food this isn't our first visit and certainly not our last in fact we have already booked for the 17th and also an added bonus it was lovely and cosy and warm with the log burner keeping the winter chill outside

We all had breakfast here before our journey home - the Full English breakfast was huge & really good value - the Eggs Royale were absolutely delicious too. The staff were helpful and lovely - it's a pity we live 3 hours away, otherwise it would become our 'regular'! Highly recommended! 😄

Just been for the first time, the food was lovely and the place looks just as nice as the pictures! The waiter we had was really friendly and polite - the fact he was ridiculously attractive didn't hurt either :p will be following his advice of only drinking on a day that ends in day ;) he was bearded and brown hair, didn't get his name unfortunately! Feel free to pass on my details :') we'll definitely be back soon!

Which is why I'm shocked to read the negative comments - i ask people to go try it make up your own minds i for one have visired severak tomes ans ots been brilliant every time.

Hi, six of us had breakfast here after a freezing dawn photography shoot along the river Trent. Staff were welcoming and the food and drink spot on. Never has a full English been so welcome. thanks!

Had breakfast yesterday and can highly recommend the food and service. The guy in there (sorry didn't catch his name) was absolutely brilliant with our 2 year old Grandaughter. He kept her amused for ages, us too. Food lovely and hot with a nice variety on the menu. Loved it.

Enjoyed a fabulous breakfast here. When we arrived we were told they were fully booked, however, the manager found a slot for us which was much appreciated. The eggs Royale and Benedict are excellent! Service, atmosphere and location are equally good and the open fire very welcoming on a cold winter's day.

Easily the best full English breakfast I've had in and around Nottingham. Quality of the bacon and sausages was amazing. Highly recommend.

Amazing hidden gem! Me and my friend went for breakfast and were amazed by the value and quality of the food. The staff were lovely and the cafe itself is really smart and airy. Lovely views of the marina with an inviting atmosphere. Can't believe I've never been before! Will most definitely be back soon and will be recommending to friends/family.

Absolutely one of the best meals we've had for a long time. The quality of the food is excellent, were lucky to make use of the 2 for 1 offer (Didn't know about until we were informed) Very welcoming and friendly staff. Definitely recommend and come again ����

Woefully understaffed and very dissorganised.

So where do I start!!!. After waiting for over 40 minutes for two adult roast dinners and a kids roast dinner. We got asked three times what we had ordered to wait another 20 mins to get just two meals. When asking where the third meal was 10 mins later we were abruptly told it's a new staff member who didn't put it through. Then the manager with an amazing jumped up attitude said it was our fault for not ordering it?? After a heated argument with the manger who said how we where all rude we then had the owner arrive with the same attitude this must be what training they get how to be rude and offensive. After them both walking off muttering offensive re marks to myself my partner and his 9 year old daughter you could say it ruined what was meant to be a chilled Sunday in the sunshine. Hence we will never be going back!! Try it if your after rude service and offensive staff!!!
