So as tradition holds, so do we and once more, as in past years, we will be opening the Forest Tavern on Xmas Eve to give all you lovely people a chance to leave the house. So you can get away from the kids or spouse before the madness begins, meet up for a pint with mates before days of family fall-outs, and terrible films. Or just get wasted cause you hate Xmas!
Gaz and the staff will be there in some way and probably full of cheer and Xmas dress, we will have mulled wine,... all other booze, Xmas songs on the jukebox, some board games and god knows what else!
Come join us for a bit if you have time and lets get pissed*, before we all go meet up with the families and get pissed!
*drink responsibly.

Unknown Era A 9 piece musical monster that feeds on pure energy, the band has built a strong following around the UK and especially in the Midlands after gigging hard for 3 years. Shows have varied from small DIY festivals, toilet venues and street parties to 1000+ capacity arenas such as Rock City in Nottingham and The Venue in Derby as well as some of UK’s biggest festivals including Boomtown (3 times), Y-Not (twice), Beatherder, Splendour and Equinox. The band mix a range... of genres into a high energy soup with big sing along choruses, screaming guitar solos, blaring brass hooks and wild stage shows. On forming, the band bonded over a mutual love of Reggae, Ska, Punk and a shared political and social awareness but since have added in influences as diverse as Funk, Soul, Salsa, Jungle, HipHop, Blues and many others.

User

a small venue but has some excellent bands playing there and a very good sound system and all the staff are friendly and helpful making it a good relaxed place to enjoy music

User

What can you say about The Maze, a Nottingham life music icon that every Notts musician has played at some point in their career

User

Thank you very much for an amazing night and special thanks to Billy from undercover hippy and the bar staff for inviting me and my mother back to the green room for a drink sorry we couldn't make it . thanks again. your all amazing!!

User

My third visit, what can I say?! Excellent venue!! Sound is spot on, size is perfect for the acts that play here. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the drinks aren’t overpriced, like most venues. I don’t drink ale, but there’s a lot to offer to those that do. Free parking round the corner helps too!! Just love the place!

User

My fave venue in the city. Great staff, space, vibe and music......xx

User

Loved it there. First time I had been there. Didn't have a ticket as it was sold out but managed to get in. The nice lady on the door let me in and as a thankyou gave them rice the entrance fee. As it was for a children's charity.

Some brilliant bands there. Loved it will go again. And thankyou The Maze. You were aMAZEING

User

Love this place, always had the best in live music with a great variety of muscians playing. Staff and people are easily the most friendly ive met in Notts, definitely check this place out if you haven't already :)

User

I went to see The Lovely Eggs (plus half-a-dozen support bands) there recently - anyone who thinks that indie music isn't vibrant and alive and that the "live" experience consists solely of (misnamed) tribute bands should have been there to be shown otherwise; The Eggs were brilliant, too!

User

I have been to this venue a few times now and I love it! The acoustics are great, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the layout is great and the choice on the jukebox is unbelievably good! The bands I have seen have been just awesome!! Great venue, one of my favourites in this country!! 😍🎶😍🎶

User

Great venue, the owner is helpful, friendly and always supporting charity events and uplifting local voices and groups! Staff are fun and friendly too. 10/10 recommend!

User

Great venue, proper old fashioned "room at the back of a pub"

Nice and intimate with its own bar complete with Castle Rock ales.

User

Great venue with an intimate atmosphere for small gigs.

User

Great venue for music

User

Good venue for live music, seen a few bands play here now & had a great time every time

User

Fantastic day, fantastic venue, great people, great sound and great atmosphere!

3.5 hours each way on a train from Bristol but well worth it!

User

Brilliant live music venue! Great stage set-up and sound system. Each time I have been, the staff have all been friendly & helpful which always makes a massive difference to the experience. I hope it goes from strength to strength.

User

Always a great rock n roll atmosphere, very friendly staff, excellent selection of beers, seen some amazing bands here 100 mile + round trip but well with the effort.

User

Always a Great Night at the Maze, The Atmosphere, Staff or should I say Friends who work there, The Events and the Incredible live music make it One of the Top Music Venues in Nottingham, No wonder we don't want to go home. Long Live The Maze.

User

Great venue and my first visit. However be prepared as the drink prices are extortionate; £5.50 for a pint of fairly ordinary IPA? I nearly collapsed and thought I was in a city centre nightclub but rubbed my eyes; took the hit and drank the beer; my advice? Ask the price before ordering as must be one of the most expensive drinking establishments in Nottingham
