jason is a great down to earth guy an runs a great place with friendly staff an now they sell black mass an foxes blood .. well thats hard to beat . nice place.

Went to the ghost walk starting from the old salutation.

The pub looks warm and friendly. Good old fashioned pub. Lots of nooks and crannies.

The ghost walk was interesting and ended in the cellar of the pub.

Visited here saturday. Loved the feel of the pub, locals were very friendly and the girls here can actually pull a decent pint of real ale �

This is the best place to meet friends and have a good night out with the best live music in Nottingham. The staff are always friendly and keeping the heavy metal scene alive . There is no place better to go for a night out!

The best rock pub in Nottingham by a mile.A friendly welcome,the barstaff are absolutely awesome!!!

One word to describe the place AWESOME! Be sure to check it out!

Lovely alternative rock pub brilliant music lovely and friendly lovely atmosphere

Loved the feel of the whole pub, we even got to go down stairs for a visit of the caves absolutely amazing, loved every minute of it. It would a dying shame if this place was lost with all its Nottingham history. People should visit our old pubs more and Nottingham city council should take note that these places will bring money into the city which is much needed.......keep up the good work and spread the word.

I spend my every weekend at The Sal nowadays despite the fact I live 20 miles away. Excellent music (especially if you abuse the jukebox), reasonable prices, great people and the staff are such legends. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Definitely one of my favourite places on the planet :)

I drove up from Wolverhampton to watch my favourite band Falling Red and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The beer was spot on and there was a great selection to choose from. The music venue was intimate enough to get really close to the band and the sound system was pretty good for such a small place. My only gripe, and it's not the fault of the pub, is that it's not easy to park near to the place but as I say it's only a small moan. Overall I was impressed and would definitely visit again.

Had a blast in The Old Salutation yesterday,the atmosphere in the afternoon session was excellent. The folks running the place sure have brought it back to be a vibrant, tribal, alternative to all the other bars in the City, Felt like it used to back in the 80's. Great Ales, Great Music, Great Pub!!

An amazing pub. The staff are so friendly and keep every one safe. The music is awesome. I just wished I lived closer counting the days till I am back down to rock with everyone \m/ \m/

Amazing place. The music is nice and loud. The drinks are reasonably priced and you get a large verity. The atmosphere is really fun and once you get to know a few people there, you end up meeting a whole new network of amazing friends. The staff are phenomenal, they look after you there and always give you the best experience. I don't come in as frequently as I should. But I know I will more. Thanks for the amazing nights I've had there and the amazing nights to come.
