Two new additions to our gin family. Roku is a Japanese gin crafted with 6 uniquely Japanese botanicals, our garnish is thinly sliced ginger and lemon. The ginger really comes through this gin. It is an absolute winner.
Gin Mare is a Spanish gin distilled from olives, thyme, rosemary and basil. Our garnish is a couple of green olives and a sprig of rosemary. Try this with a drip or two of the olive juice to dirty it up.

'The Gypsy King' Tyson Fury (26-0) returns to the ring for the second time since his comeback to face former European champion Francesco Pianeta (35-4-1).
The Lineal world heavyweight champion follows on from his dominant stoppage of Sefer Seferi in Manchester on June 9 and will continue his march back towards the top against a two-time world title challenger from Italy.
Pianeta, who won the WBC world youth crown before picking up EBU and WBO European titles, has twice challe...nged for world honours – losing to Wladimir Klitschko in 2013 and to Ruslan Chagaev two years later.
Both fighters are plotting their way back to world title contention

User

User

Just had an amazing lunch at the Poets, kebabs in wraps. This place is worth a visit or two, Think we will make this our new local. Give it a try

User

I rang up at 2.15 on a Sunday afternoon on the off chance they could fit us in at 3. Two adults and one child. They were very busy but said we could have a table upstairs and if one became free downstairs they would let us have it. We arrived to a packed pub, ordered drinks and went upstairs but we had barely got our coats off and one of the girls came up to say they'd juggled things around downstairs and we could have a table there if we wanted. We did! We ordered two roasts, a smoked lamb and a smoked pork belly, both were excellent and despite the pub being packed our food arrived 20 mins after ordering. Portion sizes were big...... I was eyeing up the dessert menu but was just too full!

Good pub, good food and good service. Hats off to the bar staff, really friendly, bent over backwards to accomodate us and all while there was hardly an empty seat in the place. Good work guys and girls, I only live round the corner, I will definitely be returning!

User

Had the chilli and a roasty in there recently and highly recommend a visit. Very nice and a great menu to choose from......

User

Had a lovely meal Easter weekend when the specials were hocks, shanks and racks!! Shared a ham hock with my partner and boy were we fed chef got the meat on point, we will definitely be returning!! Service was ace and everything came out quickly and with a smile!! Recommend for a lazy Saturday, we need a nap now

User

Great beer, lovely staff and one of the best burritos I've ever eaten!

User

Fucking awesome! I'm so happy to have this pub as my local.. The food is amazing, lighting, booze, the works... Moving in to the bar stool far to the left.. Keep off!!!

User

Friendly staff, well kept beer and some of the best pub grub in Sussex.

Try the Nachos - hand cut and loaded with fresh homemade toppings.

Amazeballs.

User

Ate here last week - lovely food & very friendly staff, will happily go back!

User

Outstanding smokey ribs, chicken etc. Great revamped local pub with friendly staff and good selection of beers. I think they probably don't want too many kids which is fine (as there are plenty of other options in the area for that) but would be nice to have a small kids menu too

User

Moved to Hove Aug 15 and thought we'd try this local, walked in and straight back out again!

So what a difference after the refit. Gave this another go during the summer, it's completely changed

Excellent food with generous portions, decent range of alcohols and friendly staff too

You can watch sports in one bar, or have a conversation in the other

Alternatively you can sit in the fresh air in the cosy rear garden

Happy to take friends and family here

User

Meaty, smoky, tasty, tender, big beautiful. Great food, good beers, friendly and vibrant place

User

I went to the Poets to watch the England game what a great atmosphere and staff we're friendly and worked very hard serving drinks and food. I've also eaten here before and the food was great. Well worth a visit

User

I had the pork nicely cooked enjoyed veg very disappointed with roast potatoes burnt also no flavour. My partner had lamb very poor portion but nicely cooked. Again he was happy with veg but not potatoes overall enjoyed the meal without potatoes.

User

I had been looking forward to eating here ever since the promo flyer came through my door. Decided on ribs before i'd even seen the menu however a last minute change of heart to brisket didn't disappoint. 6 large, thick slices of peppered juicy beef was enough to fill me up even without the great skin on fries, house slaw and green beans. My wife had the pulled pork which was also fantastic. Currently plotting our next visit to try the rest of the menu - after seeing the burgers go out to other tables i'm going to have to have one of those soon! Only missed 5 stars as no crackling was served with the pork and my wife absolutely loves it. Pretty damn good effort though considering you've only been open a couple of days. Friendly staff and a good selection of beers and ales too. Thanks!

User

Very loud, could barely hear ourselves, food ok although the three mains were ordered with potato wedges and fries arrived. The planned quiz was cancelled (the reason we'd booked) so all in all not a great visit, we left as soon as we'd finished our food and walked along the road to the George Payne. Not somewhere we would rush back to.

User

Me, my partner and his brother went to the pub for dinner and drinks on Wednesday around 8pm. First of all, the tills froze when we went to order food. We thought there was nothing anyone could do about that and we went and sat down with our drinks after eventually ordering our food, which was the mushroom burger, the cauliflower burger and the crayfish salad. About 30 minutes after we ordered, we were told they were out of the mushroom burger..so we ordered the beetroot burger instead. Another hour later, we were still waiting for our food. A lovely apologetic server said she was sorry, the tills weren't working at the moment. About another 20 minutes after that, another server came to us and said he was sorry too, they were getting confused with the tickets. He did offer us a drink which was the least he could do as we were so angry at this point. My partner actually left in annoyance about 10pm. Our food then finally arrived. The cauliflower burger was bland and cold, the mac and cheese tasted of nothing and the chips were soggy. Apparently the crayfish salad was nice but they had messed up my partners order too, not swapping out the cheese on his burger as he'd asked. Upon asking, we did get a refund for his burger but the whole experience completely ruined what should have been a lovely evening.
