We are excited to announce our first Bistro evening of the year. Choose from either 2 or 3 courses of locally sourced and freshly cooked ingredients. For this and the forthcoming events we will require a non refundable deposit of £5 per person and a pre-order for the table by Tuesday 22nd January. Here is a sample of our last 2 bistro nights. We have really enjoyed hosting friends old and new during December. 🎄🎄🎄 We have our third on Saturday 29th which are platters of cured meats, oven baked camambert, breads and oils. We have limited tables left so there's still time. From David and all the team, we wish you all a very merry Christmas and good health for the new year 🎄🎄🎄

You just Couldn't find a friendlier more accommodating place - with a standard of baking and cooking so high. I go as often as I can. A lovely stroll across Derby's Historic Marketon Park to the old Roman Road at Marketon and the garden centre there - ablaze with lights at Christmas. To their Café - the beautiful newly built Wood and Glass Potting Shed - an Architectural delight - Filled with expertly home Baked Cakes and fine food. Bring a friend an make an afternoon of it - or just take yourself for an hour or two of an afternoon. I love it and the people who run it.

What a lovely hidden gem - cozy and quaint. Great food too with generous helpings and friendly service. Second time and will definitely come again and recommend.

We were one of the two large parties who came yesterday for Christmas Lunch. Everybody in our group commented how nice the food was, and how well we were looked after. An error had been made in pre-ordering the starters and for a moment it looked as if one member of our party might have to miss out, but the day was saved when an extra starter was rustled up at the last moment, even though they were incredibly busy. Well done, thank you and happy Christmas to all at the potting shed!

We popped in Sunday morning and what a Gem of a place. Lovely cooked breakfast and lovely staff.

We came for the bistro night last night. The food was great and the staff were excellent. All very friendly, nothing was too much trouble - the staff are a real credit to your establishment and made it an enjoyable evening. Atmosphere was cosy. Will definitely visit again.

From the fantastic Afternoon Tea I had with friends back in July to the simple latte I had yesterday. My husband had a sausage cob too which he devoured in about 5 Seconds.lovely to see they have added a covered outside section- they need it as they just get more and more customers. They deserve all of the praise - would recommend anyone to go to this lovely cafe

The food is amazing. Great atmosphere and excellent value for money. Highly recommended. Vicky it's a fantastic place you run there especially the home made cakes.

It was absolutely beaut, we both enjoyed every last mouthful!!! It was a lovely experience to see the Potting Shed from a customer viewpoint, friendly staff, amazingly charming warm tearoom...........amazing Christmas decorations obviously. I don't need to tell you all how well you do as it's clear from all your great feedback.......!!!

Saw the Christmas afternoon tea advertised on Facebook so decided to try it out. It’s a must! Excellent variety of sandwiches and cakes, great little cafe.

Recently went to one of their bistro nights with live entertainment (Johnny.... Who was fabulous) food was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. We all had a wonderful evening and even a good old sing song! Definitely going back. *****

Popped in on two occasions whilst visiting the Equine Vets just up the road. Both times staff were friendly and professional. Food is excellent and freshly cooked. Hopefully no more vet visits for us but if we do happen to come this way again we will definitely be back. Lovely atmosphere too.

My family and I enjoyed afternoon tea on Sunday. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and yummy food. Will be making a return visit � x

Music was to loud that is the only bad thing I would say about it .went for coffee and cake could not talk as it was to loud

Lovely food and the biggest hot chocolate we'd ever seen.

The service was good, food was fresh and very good value for money, the place is clean and it's great that it is located next to Markeaton park. They are child and dog friendly which is great! The prices are reasonable too. I would definitely visit here again soon and will recommend to all my contacts in Derby.

I popped in for coffee, after a dog walk on Markeaton park. Great service and great cake too (chocolate) looking forward to going back again. Dog friendly. ���

I have visited the Potting Shed cafe several times for both drinks and hot and cold food. Everything about this place is perfect - a relaxing atmosphere, lovely decor, comfortable seats, friendly and helpful staff, and truly delicious and well-prepared and presented food and drinks. I highly recommend it for savoury and sweet refreshments. A few months ago, I left my favourite scarf there and they so kindly kept it safe for me.

I have just returned from my sister's 90th Birthday Afternoon Tea for her family. It was excellent; excellent food, excellent service and very pleasant, friendly staff. The family member who organised it said it was perfect and if she lived locally would be a regular visitor. They even calmly arranged an extra table and extra food when unexpected, late arrivals turned up, all done without any fuss. Thank you very much for an afternoon enjoyed by all.

I am a regular customer of the cafe and love it, but tonight went with my husband and friends to a bistro evening and it was lovely. Our waitress Fern was lovely, friendly and attentive. The food was wonderful and it was a fantastic evening, well worth a visit and we will definitely be back.

Had the club sandwich today and it's the best club sandwich I've ever had! Very tasty and the bread was delish ... which I think I read is from Birds Bakery. The hand cut chips are very nice too. Excellent range of cakes on display and plenty of room around the tables.

Had my work Christmas meal and I have to say, it was excellent! The service was second to none and the food was soo delicious! I had the turkey with all the trimmings and chocolate brownie to finish. The room was festively decorated and cosey which was much needed as it was freezing outside. Would definitely come back again!!!!!

Great place for breakfast, generous helpings on HOT plates �. Why do so many other places put your hot food on freezing cold plates??!!

Called in sometime back and thought the food, drink and service great. Yesterday went with some friends for the Christmas dinner. Very, very nice! Food was lovely and the service excellent. I don't think you could beat it value wise either. Call in and try the place, it won't disappoint!

Called in on Thursday for a coffee � and thought how lovely this place is. We'll be back to try the food soon after seeing some of the delicious food we saw being served.

Lovely little cafe, with a covered outdoor area where dogs are allowed, even have dog beds for your dogs, had tea and cakes, was very nice indeed! Will definitely be back.

First time we've been only had toast and marmalade as we came for breakfast I don't eat much at this time but will definitely be trying again for lunch or afternoon tea

The family member who organised it said it was perfect and if she lived locally would be a regular visitor. They even calmly arranged an extra table and extra food when unexpected, late arrivals turned up, all done without any fuss. Thank you very much for an afternoon enjoyed by all.

Had the club sandwich today and it's the best club sandwich I've ever had! Very tasty and the bread was delish ... which I think I read is from Birds Bakery. The hand cut chips are very nice too. Excellent range of cakes on display and plenty of room around the tables.

Had my work Christmas meal and I have to say, it was excellent! The service was second to none and the food was soo delicious! I had the turkey with all the trimmings and chocolate brownie to finish. The room was festively decorated and cosey which was much needed as it was freezing outside. Would definitely come back again!!!!!

Great place for breakfast, generous helpings on HOT plates �. Why do so many other places put your hot food on freezing cold plates??!!

Lovely little cafe, with a covered outdoor area where dogs are allowed, even have dog beds for your dogs, had tea and cakes, was very nice indeed! Will definitely be back.

You just Couldn't find a friendlier more accommodating place - with a standard of baking and cooking so high. I go as often as I can. A lovely stroll across Derby's Historic Marketon Park to the old Roman Road at Marketon and the garden centre there - ablaze with lights at Christmas. To their Café - the beautiful newly built Wood and Glass Potting Shed - an Architectural delight - Filled with expertly home Baked Cakes and fine food. Bring a friend an make an afternoon of it - or just take yourself for an hour or two of an afternoon. I love it and the people who run it.

We were one of the two large parties who came yesterday for Christmas Lunch. Everybody in our group commented how nice the food was, and how well we were looked after. An error had been made in pre-ordering the starters and for a moment it looked as if one member of our party might have to miss out, but the day was saved when an extra starter was rustled up at the last moment, even though they were incredibly busy. Saw the Christmas afternoon tea advertised on Facebook so decided to try it out. It’s a must! Excellent variety of sandwiches and cakes, great little cafe.

Recently went to one of their bistro nights with live entertainment (Johnny.... Who was fabulous) food was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. We all had a wonderful evening and even a good old sing song! Definitely going back. *****

Popped in on two occasions whilst visiting the Equine Vets just up the road. Both times staff were friendly and professional. Food is excellent and freshly cooked. Hopefully no more vet visits for us but if we do happen to come this way again we will definitely be back. Lovely atmosphere too.

The service was good, food was fresh and very good value for money, the place is clean and it's great that it is located next to Markeaton park. They are child and dog friendly which is great!
