Energetic. Scintillating. Dynamic. Irrepressible. Standing at 6' 5", 'Europe's Best Accordion Player' makes a big sound! Whether he's playing international festival stages or laying it down in his hometown, audiences are always dazzled by his brilliance.
Returning after a fab gig in April! With his upbeat bluesy style this should be an awesome night!!

User

Went into Matlock with my dog and got refused from lots of places, but went in and asked if dogs were allowed and a warm welcome was given.

Wasn't somewhere I'd of thought to go as looked a bit posh, but the staff were so friendly and very welcoming.

Being on my own they made me and pooch feel welcome.

Food was lovely and very well cooked, the orange, walnut and maple sponge was OMG!!!!

I'd of happily eaten 10 more servings.

Would definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone with a pooch!

User

Went for Sunday lunch absolutely gorgeous food even allowed me a child’s portion as not able to eat a big meal best roast beef we have had in a long time I even ate the Yorkshire pudding as cooked perfectly (normally avoid elsewhere as always undercooked and soggy) these were perfect will definately Be returning

Staff were smashing and nothing too much trouble

User

We called in here mid week, just by chance. The food was exceptionaly good, better than yr average pub food. I had, the beef bourgogne, which was cook to perfection, it was roasts or boiled potatoes, I'm not really. Keen on either, I said I prefer mash, so would it be possible to have a jacket, she came back & said the chef, would do me mash, how amazing, was that, there was there was three veg on my plate, then they brought out more veg in a dish. Hubby had home made steak pie with veg, & boiled potatoes, which was also delicious. Huge portions, not over priced, plus the people. In there were really friendly. Extensive menu to choose from, just a pub. Well worth a visit. We will definitely be back again. Pubs like these are hard too find. . Try it you will not be disappointed. .

User

Strolled in off the street and were pleasantly surprised. Very friendly staff, choice of beers and very good food. Also dog friendly. We enjoyed it enough to go back 2 days later.

User

Our new local. Dog friendly. Well kept ales. Friendly staff and a chilled, eclectic playlist.

This is pub heaven.

User

Nipped in for some food, chancing it as other pubs stop serving food at 3. We were in luck!

I had the most delicious bowl of lamb Targine with crusty bread, the Mr had a hot pork baguette.

Top food, great atmosphere, friendly staff.

User

Just popped into the Remarkable Hare in matlock, what a lovely welcome from the friendly barman he was so polite . I have a intolerance the barman was brilliant informing me of what I could eat.

The waitress was superb couldn't do enough to Please us.

And the food was the best carvery I've eaten in a pub.

Overall 5 stars all the way.

Well done to all the staff.

Would definitely recommend

Hope to return soon

User

Just finished the BEST Pub Sunday lunch we've ever had. Beef was gorgeous, veg perfectly cooked and potatoes crispy with no hint of oil, gravy was tasty. Nom nom nom.

Chocolate brownie was to die for and everything was presented beautifully.

Staff are polite, friendly and attentive.

We're only here for the day and have already decided if we visit again we'd definitely come back here.

The pub has a lovely vibe too.

A combination not easy to achieve- congratulations guys, great place

User

I had such a fab night here last night with their Dessert Island Discs, featuring 'boy can that girl talk' Colette of the Barley Mow. A riveting, merry, entertaining insight into Colette's character and life. As for the comfortable RH, I can't remember the last time I walked in somewhere new on my own and was received so warmly and was made to feel immediately 'the buzz was on, and I was on board'. It sure is all about the people. I'm checking their events page regularly from now on. p.s. Great food, great service, refreshing range of ales.

User

Having strolled around Matlock we just dropped into the Remarkable Hare for a light lunch - the beef baguette and pork baguette with a lovely pot of tea for two was just right - however the pork baguette proved too much so for the first time in many years we had to revert to a doggie bag - excellent little snack for later on - highly recommend and the service was great and a very relaxing atmosphere and a very well stocked bar - including Brooklyn gin

User

Happened across this place on a cold Sunday night, open fire was going. Real Ales at the bar. Several hours later, we went home happy.

User

Fantastic pub ! Proper dog friendly. Lovely staff, great food and a very warm welcome. Would highly recommend!!

User

Brilliant lunch at this place. The best barmaid ever. Massive bowls of tasty goodness - Chicken & molten Stilton, more sausages than I thought it was possible for someone to eat, black pudding, cheesy corned beef hash, yummy yum! Nice beer too.

User

Big smiles from the staff, who love what they do. A great menu with a hint of France mixed into traditional & beyond. Wonderful bar snack & sandwiches. All that complement the fanatic ales, wines & spirits. Plus high tea & the most delicious Bakewell Puddings. Board game to pass the time in the rain & cold seasons & a delightfully open dinning room to enjoy sunshine in the summer. A must visit in #Matlock

User

Absolutely loved it! We were greeted by one of the owners. The building is very impressive and the line up of real ales is superb. Sadly we didn't have time to eat so it was a quick Titanic Cappuccino, but we'll be back as the food looks fantastic too!!

User

A very well stocked bar, beautifully presented with an excellent variety of beers. We had a couple of stews that were both imaginative and very tasty, just what was needed on a chilly day.

The bar had a good number of friendly locals and tourists like us.

The hosts Simon and Jan are an absolute delight who are very welcoming and take their trade very seriously. Simon can tell you in great detail the provenance of all his ingredients! Highly recommended!

User

100% recommend this place. Great food and friendly atmosphere.

For £10 a ticket you get a seat at a table in the back room set up with a large screen TV to watch the footy ... this then includes a drink from the bar and hot food either before the game or at half-time ... last night this was really tasty sausage n squeak . Great hosts and excellent food. We'll be there again at the weekend to watch England win their second match

User

Lovely place, husband love the real ale's. Very helpful staff, only one negative is that they stop serving food at 6.30 did speak to the owner he said might need to review it. Did eat there one night, food was delicious, so must consider extending food times.
