Sky /BT Sports pub. Live music venue. Large range of cask ales. Beautiful staff. Great food. Best pub in Keyworth. Nottingham

The Salutation Keyworth Nottingham Description

The earliest recorded evidence of the Salutation being used as an Inn is in 1675 in the Nottingham Sessions Roll of the Inns of the county. At this time there were two licensed houses in Keyworth, the 'Hammer and Pincers' at the North, or Church end of the village, and the 'Salutation' at the South end. In 1800's the 'Hammer and Pincers' gained an evil reputation for cock fighting, man-fighting and disturbances of the peace and the Inn disappeared from public records. This means that the Salutation, or at least parts of it, is the oldest Inn still in existence today. These days the Salutation is a friendly, family run pub serving fine food and real ales.

Food serving times are:
To Be Confirmed

Booking is advisable Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

We have a childrens' license until 9: 00 pm with conditions that can be viewed on entry.

first time ive been to the salutation in atleast 20 years still a nice little pub, came with a fair few children for a meal and couples after a horse riding party. food was excellent and very clean the only advise I would give though is more staff as I did feel sorry for him behind bar and also bringing our meals out but apart from that we had al ovley afternoon and there customer service was always presented with a smile and very friendly will definatly be going again thankyou all today

User

We had a lovely meal here yesterday (Sunday). We arrived around 1.30pm and were able to find a seat straight away, with the waitress coming to take our orders promptly. All food (2 soups, roast and lasagne) was served in a good time, hot and was lovely. We will definitely be back.

User

This is the first time we have been in the Salutation since it was refurbished last year. Originally we planned to just pop in for a quick drink but ended up having a meal. The whole experience was very nice. The Landlord and Landlady were both very friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent and the pub was very clean. We will definitely be going again and would recommend anyone who hasn't been to give it a try.

User

The new management team are bringing the old village pub feel back, the staff have always really friendly, with good range of beers and while I've not eaten there recently, the locals appear impressed.

User

Lovely pub. Staff polite and friendly, food was spot on and good selection of ales. Nice clean place would highly recommend.

User

Just had Christmas dinner at the Salutation and i was very impressed with the meal as all the courses we're superb and well presented. All the staff we're very helpful as nothing was to much trouble.

Thanks to you all hope you enjoy the rest of the day

User

Had 2 lovely meals here since it changed over, love the ranch burger! We could not feel more welcome. It's a lovely environment, all the staff are amazing! The selection of different drinks and food now is much better. I'm a regular customer from both previously and now.

User

Great pub...amazing staff very friendly and Rufus is just the best friend I have :) (Love the fruit machine....just 1 more pie!'

User

Fantastic pub, great selection of beers, great band playing (SoulShine) and a very friendly clientele. Great night out. Look forward to a return visit

User

Excellent pub with a wide range of well kept beers. It's a friendly atmosphere and beer garden make it perfect all year round. A TV with live sports is all ways in view and they provide a fantastic array of live musical talent! 10 out of 10

User

Came for Sunday lunch with family for farewell meal for brother, Mark, who is off to Cyprus to work. Had a lovely lunch of roast beef with all the trimmings apart from the roast potatoes which were rather well done! Apple crumble and custard for pud - 😋. No complaints, staff all very friendly and polite. Would definitely visit again.

User

Been elsewhere for Sunday dinner for a long while but thort we'd have a change and try the sal it was gorgeous we enjoyed every bit of Sunday lunch big enough portions and very tasty got our custom every week now .

User

Went for lunch and it was very tasty food and obviously freshly cooked. The hospitality was very welcoming and the new decor is updated, but maintains the rustic charm. If you like real ales this is the place for you, they have a great choice. The landlord is hitting the right spot, all in Keyworth need to support him and the pub and make sure we keep this wee gem of a drinking establishment in the village...

User

Took my teenage son in to watch the group that played. Was amazed to be paying just under £7 for a pint of Abbotts and a kids lemonade. Shame, because it was busy, I didn't query it.

User

What a disappointment. Came in for lunch just 2 fish goujon sandwiches. Awful just a battered fish in bread which tasted like it had been cooked 3 times. Side order of chips tasted like they were cooked in old oil. Terrible. 2 girls behind bars the one who cleared plates is a old face and pleasant, though no feed back on our complaint. But the other girl where is service with a smile?? I'm afraid it was a let down as came in few weeks ago and had a steak and that was lovely.

User

Well, just tried the food, turkey roast for me and lasagna. There was half a plate of turkey rind/fat in fact I'm not actually sure what it was but it shouldn't have been on the plate along with mash that tasted like smash. Poor effort of lasagna with what looked like a bread stick with half a gallon of garlic butter. Expensive (£10 a dish) for poor quality. I've had better at the shepherds. Should have realised when you walk in and it's nearly empty.

User

An hour for scampi on a Monday night?! No, no, no!!

Only saving grace, my boyfriend- whose birthday it was- enjoyed his curry.

Would say offered drink/dessert from waitress due to the wait but drink only offered after I'd asked, for the second time, how long as it'd been an hour, and dessert only offered after I'd gone to the bar and asked for the bill.

Used to love this place. Have given it a go under both new owners and service is just not quick enough.

User

walked in at 12.15pm and asked for a sunday lunch only to be told I would have to wait until after 1pm because they had a party of 20 booked in. Clearly only a few had arrived and none had ordered any food. I was the only other person in the pub!

people from the party were still arriving some 10/15 minutes later when I was leaving. I drove over to the plough at normanton / which was packed and they managed to have a delicious sunday lunch in front of me within 10 minutes,

User

In truth I can't rate it as I've never been in since it changed hands........ I just think that the public should know that only seven of the 56 ratings here belong to the new manager and of those seven there is one 5*, one 4*, two 2* and three 1* - that says it all!!!!! It is unfair that the Salutation still uses the reviews left for the previous owners and something should be done about it now because it is misleading for current customers.

walked in at 12.15pm and asked for a sunday lunch only to be told I would have to wait until after 1pm because they had a party of 20 booked in.
