Went today for afternoon tea. Can not fault the service at all. Plenty of sandwiches, crisps, homemade scones and cakes. Had to bring home a doggy bag. Simply delicious. One of the best afternoon teas I have been to. A big thank you to Jess and Grace! Would definitely go again! �

We went last night,never been before,bar area was very busy & noisy but the food & the service were superb,we will be returning,the staff were really professional & friendly,we would highly recommend

Thank you for our afternoon tea, booked through Groupon. Amazing food unlimited tea and coffee. Staff were attentive and very pleasant ensuring we were kept topped up with drinks. Highly recommended. We will be returning very soon

My boyfriend and I went 24/02/18 for an evening meal and drinks. We’ve never been before and were totally surprised with the bistro, service and atmosphere. We are people who if something isn’t right we tell you but we could not fault Browns at all. The service was fantastic, the staff super friendly and attentive, clean and tidy and food delicious and plenty of it. We both ordered burgers with amendments (one being GF) and they came really hot and to our liking. I asked for garlic mayo and there wasn’t any. Never mind it didn’t detract from the meal however 5 minutes later the waitress came back with some she made for me! What great service! Another waitress also came back to check the amendments we asked for were okay for us and again great service. We then wanted to go round to the bar and a Manager saw my boyfriend looking for a booth and said when one was available she’d come get us from the table. 5 minutes later we had our own booth near the bar. Absolutely fantastic night and looking forward to going back!

Have been many times for breakfast & lunch in the past..was a little worried about recent reviews when we went for lunch today, 6 of us, a belated Christmas gathering. Well, the food was as delicious as it's always been and the service was excellent too, very friendly & attentive. And for 6 of us the bill was reasonable (4 adults & 2 children). We'll definitely go again.

Had an afternoon tea today at Brown's and had a really lovely experience! Could not fault it! The staff were friendly and we were asked several times if were enjoying our meal and got our tea refilled. I had rang ahead to book and mentioned I was a vegetarian and they prepared my sandwiches and gave them me separate from the afternoon tea stand so they weren't put on the same plate as any meat. We felt very welcomed and had a wonderful experience! Will be coming again! :)

Had afternoon tea for my friends 50th Birthday. The service was great especially Jess she made us all very welcome, she was friendly and couldn’t do enough for us . The afternoon tea was lovely and we all enjoyed the amazing cocktails. Thank you Jess �

Decide to try here for my birthday, I love afternoon teas and cocktails, so perfect venue. The food was lovely, just the right amount and the scones were especially good! Needed more cream, but we asked and they were fine bringing more out! The cocktails were amazing, as it was a Sunday, they had great offers. I had What the Butler Saw first and that was DELICIOUS! Then I had the Cherry Bakewell, and it came with melted meringue on top! Nom!!!! The staff were lovely and made the evening perfect. Thank you 😊

Bought afternoon tea for 2 with glass of bubbly for my mother in law for Xmas , been today and the service was excellent the young girl couldn’t do enough for us sorry didn’t get her name. Food was lovely would definitely go back thanks for a lovely afternoon x

Bloomin gem of a place only found it as sold a sofa to the owners it was obviously meant to be im in heaven!! Good food great cocktails lovely setting what more could you want. Will be back with friends!! Xx

Been today for afternoon tea with my daughter in law the food was delicious I loved the idea of fresh fruit on the cake stand the young girl that served us was delightful ( sorry didn't get her name ) couldn't do enough for you will definitely be going again

Been to browns many of time with friends family and my other half. The food is always so tasty! Well presented. The only issue I have is the long wait to get service apart from that 5 starts all around.

Took my 7 year old granddaughter for tea and we had the 2 for 1 burger deal and could not fault that The burgers were lovely and you could accommodate my gluten free diet. However huge disappointment with the ice cream sundae that my granddaughter so wanted. Maybe you need to check what a sundae is as all we got was two scoops of vanilla ice cream some chocolate powder and 4 Haribo sweets on the top. Very overpriced.

I went yesterday for cocktails and pizza. Got there early as I expected it to be busy with it being bank holiday. Only two young lads on the bar,2 deep at the bar...20 min wait for first drink and to tell them we had a table booked. They looked at the list,didn’t say anything and carried on serving. Waited another 5 min ask the lad again about our table and got a “erm,erm I’ll get a waitress” We was seated,waited,waited and had to get the waitress to take our order we had waited that long. We ordered pizzas and one burger. 10 min later the waitress came back and said the burger eater was going to have to order a pizza as it was after 6 and that’s all you did. Why was this not said when the menus was given?Went for a another drink...10 mins....and a beer pump had run out so one lad said to the other “the barrel needs changing” to which the other snapped back “I ain’t doing it I changed the last one” I found that unprofessional. We came especially for the offer on cocktails and pizzas but when we got there this offer was void and the reason given to someone lady who was complaining “because we have cheap Prosecco and gin in the gin bar and we are losing money doing it!” Also I was not made aware when booking that this offer wasn’t on. I got sick of the cues in the end so thought I’ll get a prosecco from the gin bar,went out side,the bar was closed...you couldn’t write it...back in the two Deep bar cue I went. Some of the girls where buying two drinks at a time because of this. The food was beautiful and we couldn’t fault it. Couldn’t have the bill to the table because something wasn’t working,had to pay at the bar. And was told it was cash only so I drew some money out then half hour later people was using cards. Three of the party was browns virgins and had heard me raving about it so was looking forward to it but there was a lot of disappointment last night. Not nearly enough staff for the amount of people in there. Won’t put me off coming but I’ll Defo be avoiding it bank holidays and busy periods

Have to admit today was disappointing got our order wrong to begin with left us the fries whilst sorting the sandwich rather than the burger they had delivered with no cutlery or condiments

Sandwich arrived on thin part toasted wholemeal bread should have been granary the bread was soggy chicken and bacon what bit was there was cold

Not the usual standard at all

The excuse was they had changed bread supplier

Really disappointing and a sorry really didn’t excuse it

Went there for lunch with the girls. Sandwiches waaaay overpriced for what they are. £6 for 2 slices of a sliced loaf, not crusty bread or ciabatta! Barely any salad and a few 'handcooked' vegetable crisps. Absolutely awful, will not be going back.

Went for an afternoon tea, birthday present from my friend.

Before I start the food was lovely presented well and tasted really good so thanks to the chef(s).

As for the service ... well that was quite something.

The lady which me and my friend assumed was the manager as she wasn’t in uniform greeted us had no record of us being booked in as my friend booked through groupon and she claimed that those bookings don’t always confirm with them. So why continue to sell on there !? The lady was dressed like she was having a lazy day at home (joggers and baggy jumper) which we thought was very unprofessional. Her attitude was very of the can’t be bothered nature, we felt that it was too much effort for her to rectify the mix up. She then went off to ask the kitchen staff if we could have our tea and to set the table, meanwhile me and my friend left stood at the bar no offer of a drink. She then after sorting us a table moved us onto a second table still no drink!

Eventually when we received everything, as I said, the food was lovely shame about the naff service really let the place down don’t think I’ll bother again .

We didn’t get served for a while so had to approach a member of staff to order our afternoon tea. Our prosecco came, followed by afternoon tea. We had no cutlery or plates and had to wait another 5-10 minutes for a member of staff to pass to ask for them. Our pot of tea came and the cups was dirty, so we asked for them to be swapped, which then came more dirty cups. Despite the issues we had the food was delicious, on paying the waiter asked us if we wanted to split the bill, we said yes, then my friend had to pay more than me. Luckily a manager was on the bar to help rectify this. Very disappointed in our experience today when we chose to visit for a special occasion.

Not even worth 1 star!! Do not waste ur time by visiting absolutely useless.



Booked afternoon tea for 5 people and was asked dietry requirements so we made the effort to go down in person to explain these.

We requested no egg sandwiches, ham with no mustard, no butter for 2 people and cheese sandwiches to replace the egg!



Turned up and completely messed our order up!! We had egg sandwiches, mustard on the ham, spreadable cheese not cheese we requested and mayo on the plain ham sandwiches. Sent back and explained they haf messed up!!

Only changed 1 plate of sandwiches!!

What an expensive half a sandwich and slice of cake!!



Will not return and this was suppose to be for a lovely family birthday! Now ruined!
