Traditional 18th Century Black and White pub /restaurant in Oakthorpe. Cosy and friendly atmosphere, excellent home cooked food, fully stocked bar serving good real ales, lagers, spirits and fine wines. Pool table, Disabled toilet and good car parking

Restaurant opening times -
Tues to Sun lunchtimes - Noon till 2pm
Tues to Sat evenings - 6pm till 9pm
The restaurant food is cooked fresh using locally sourced ingredients, we have something for everyone with meat lovers and vegetarians well catered for. There is also a 'Specials Board' and a 'Lite Bites Board' which are changed daily in addition to our main menu and also a traditional Sunday lunch served from noon till 2pm every Sunday.
The restaurant is available for functions, meetings and private parties.
We have a range of guest ales and real ales available which regularly change to offer new tastes and experiences, plus an extensive wine list for the wine lovers out there.
Our staff are warm and friendly offering a great service and all that visit are treated like a 'regular'.

We finally have the official certificate from the Air Ambulance stating how much the charity beer festival raised...£1500!! Thank you to all who got involved and gave their time or money, was a great day and all for a great cause
The Shoulder has also had some winners in the Swadlincote and District Domino league - Shoulder A Team won Division 1 and Shoulder B Team Won Division 3!!!! Well done players!!!! Looking forward to the trophies :)
Winners of the Overseal and District Pool Summer League Knockout!!! They won 8-1 against the Mount Pleasant - Well Done Lads, new pool table to be ordered as promised ;) !!!!!
Sunday 1st September Charity Beer Festival at the Shoulder in Oakthorpe, proceeds to Air Ambulance Starts at 12 noon 10 Guest beers from all over UK 2pm Live band The Modstory 4pm Live band The Decade Runners... Local group and folk artists playing too Face painting for kids Hot Pork and Beef cobs plus Hot Dogs on BBQ Not to be missed!!!

This lovely little village pub is so.welcoming.
We had a three course Sunday lunch..each course was lovely...I had Prawn Cocktail, Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner and Orange Tiramisu. Generous portions...fresh vegetables..very very nice.
