Went to the carvery for a birthday celebration. We had asked the previous day about vegan options and when we arrived an excellent vegan menu with choices was waiting at our table - a very nice touch. All the service and food was excellent.
Went here on saturday evening as a party of 4. We hadnt booked a table but it was no trouble and were seated in a few minutes of our arrival.
Food was lovely and service was very pleasant. Having a niteclub attached as well was a great bonus!! We had a great night and will definately be back.
We have just had our wedding reception at The Tannery. The food venue staff and support was excellent. Can't thank them enough for helping to make our day so special
We called in this afternoon and were treated to some cracking food, quickly and I can highly recommend the burgers. The staff were both courteous and professional. No long queues, the food was piping hot and very reasonably priced. We will most definitely be back soon. 5*
Was here today with my dad and wife and had an amazing carvery dinner great selection and very pleasant and helpful staff will be back soon again
Top notch grub. This is definitely the best steak I've had in a long time.
Although booked for 7pm it was about 10 minutes before we got seated, but I wouldn't mark them down for this. The place was so busy and the staff were so attentive and friendly.
We'll definitely be back here soon (and would be every week if John had his way and especially with me driving haha)
Here for lunch with a friend.
Place was bunged but we were shown to a table straight away by a very friendly waiter. Service was perfect (nice break between each course).
Food was lush (I had the salt and chilli squid followed by Vietnamese spiced slow cooked pork and sweet potato curry with peanut brittle ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ). We loved everything about this place and will most definitely be back.
Thanks for a lovely day!
4 of us went for dinner on Saturday evening in the bistro. The food was excellent as was the service. Really love your variety of choices. Look forward to our next visit :)
Lovely lunch food and service good, soup a little cold otherwise nice experience will be back
Gorgeous food...steaks cooked to perfection! Only 2 downsides to the experience.
1. We must have been asked 6 OR 7 times if we were ok...... pretty annoying when trying to eat. The waitresses were gossiping right over from us most of the time so we could have told them if we needed anything.
2. We asked for Mauds ice cream for afters but what we got was really grainy half melted honeycomb flavoured ice cream. No actual hineycomb at all. It tasted like it had been left to thaw then re frozen again. Doubtful that it was even mauds. Total waste as it was inedible.
The main meal was still excellent that's why I gave it 4 stars.
While the food was very nice
The service was very slow
We arrived at 6pm and they soon took our drinks order
We then thought we were forgot about
Starters was nice but then another half before our mains came
We left at 8.45pm
But when back in as they had not added the drinks or deserts to the bill and the food was nice so we wouldn't do that to them
They were out by ยฃ30
All in all nice food but slow service hence the 3 stars
Me and my partner decided to go out for a bite to eat and try outside of Belfast spot- The Tannery.
As we arrived we were told to wait in bistro bar for around 45 min.before getting a table, as "first come, first served".
We arrived at 8:00 pm and we got a table at 9:00 pm (2 couples who arrived after us got their tables before us).
Another 10 min.of waiting before we place the order and 1 hour of waiting to get our food finally served at 10 pm.
We ordered mains only- fish and burger and
people arriving after us were already finishing their 3 course meals.
Staff was nice, but waiting time was unacceptable.
Meals we ordered were super simple, so I'm not sure why it took so long.
If we were told upon arrival that it will take 2 hours we would happily go to Belfast for a food. We did got an apology from manager.
Good points &bad points...our greeting by a female member of staff was very unfriendly!! Goodness knows why as a group of 5. we didn't want to sit at 2separate tables of course .. &she said we could sit upstairs but we would be on our own!! my husband was not comfortable in the benches (squashed in ) so asked again to sit up in the main part of the restaurant. she reluctantly agreed to move us &said again if it didn't suit we could sit upstairs on our own !! I really didn't understand why she kept mentioning sitting upstairs. Over 40 years living in the area we have eaten in this building. Today was an exception The other side of the story is all the other male members of staff that served us where courtious &very helpful thank you to the guys
When we arrived the waitress didn't write our order down then arrived with the wrong order and argued with me 3 times. Then husband got a steak which half of it was fat and really tough and hard to cut bland to taste. My main was pasta and chicken, very bland. We didn't enjoy the food or the service.
Really good food. Really bad service.
Maybe it was an off day but we arrived at 12.15 and asked if we could wait in the bar to go to the carvery. No problem. 7 soft drinks took 20 minutes to arrive, at which point we went straight to the carvery. They asked us if we had a booking, which we didn't. So we trooped back to the bistro but couldn't sit at our original table and had to go upstairs - but only after a short wait for the table to be made ready. No biggy. But it could be worth making sure that if one restaurant is fully booked that they tell the other this is the case so the whole establishment runs nice and smoothly.
Then we waited 20 minutes before I went downstairs under the cover of a loo break where the staff, all three leaning against the bar, admitted they'd forgotten we were there. We ordered food with a little difficulty - perhaps the guy that was taking our orders was new but, if you don't know the menu, don't blag it and if you can't remember 7 things, just bring your order book with you - or keep it in your apron. Main course came pretty promptly and was excellent. Everyone cleaned their plates. Compliments to the chef.
We then ordered deserts and hot drinks and while one of the deserts was not as requested these too were decent enough. But the hot drinks never arrived. I reminded one guy and he said he'd get our server to sort it. I never actually saw our server again, although this other guy continued to circulate amongst his own tables. My mate then asked another server if she could get the drinks and bring the bill. A further ten minutes elapsed before she brought the bill, and said she'd taken the price of the hot drinks off. Which, given we still hadn't received them was really the least we might have expected.
For context, a restaurant that was empty when we arrived was by this stage no more than a third full.
Also, the decor feels a bit like a 90s sit com but that's just an opinion. What isn't an opinion is that service wise, it was a complete shambles which is a shame because the food was really good. That said other places provide both tasty food and a relaxed dining experience so we won't be back.
Myself, my partner and my 2 sons called in here yesterday (Saturday) to have a late lunch around 3.45pm, it was our first time here and we were given a table, I asked for a drinks menu and this never arrived, neither did a server! After waiting for someone to take our order for about 20 minutes we decided to get up and walk out, walking past 3 servers hanging around the bar on the way out who didn't seem to care less that we had just left as we were forgotten about.
Horrendous. Service was a disgrace. Waited well over 40 minutes before our order was taken, had to ask a staff member to take it, enquired about a certain meal and the staff member hadnโt much knowledge about it. Food came which was soaking in grease and the side order was incorrect. Waited ages for the correct one. Asked if we were finished when we were clearly still eating. The bill came and it wasnโt our table. The whole experience was laughable. Decor was awful, walls patched up, broken wonky chair as well as an awful atmosphere as most people were complaining. Will not be back.
Excellent food. Shocking service!
Arrived and was seated for dinner at 17:05, had to ask if our food would be much longer at 17:50. Staff didnโt seem to have a clue what was happening (or seem to care) which is such a shame as food was gorgeous. Unfortunately too many other restaurants that can offer great food and great service so unlikely I would go back.
A quiet day before Christmas and we had a group of 6 adults and 2 small children for Christmas dinner. We have all been previously on many occasions and were always satisfied with meal and service. Today was poor. Christmas dinner, minus the atmosphere and lack of crackers was dismal. Starters were acceptable, soup tepid, poached pears barely any flavour. We all had traditional turkey dinner and all had complaints with uncooked sprouts, parsnips and roast potatoes. Desserts were acceptable if you were allowed to finish them before the plate was whipped away by over efficient waiting staff. Time taken between courses was really stretched which at times is welcomed but this took the biscuit. Over 2 and a half hours for 3 courses. We won't be back for a while. Need to sort your kitchen out, if this is a quiet day then those booked in for busier periods are in for slow and painful experience. Stretching things is a tactic to get you to buy more alcohol maybe but not impressed.
