Visited this hotel / restaurant yesterday with friends for lunch. The place is large and very nice and clean with it's own car park just across the road, right at the side of the river Trent. We sat at a window table so we could look at the views. There were a few menus to choose from, we chose from the 12 - 5pm menu. The food was tasty, hot and a good price, the service was great too. Would recommend

User

Very pleasant waitress very busy got our meal on time Great food as always see you soon Unicorn Pub

User

Stayed 4 nights, ate breakfast and dinner there everyday. service was excellent, meal times service was very prompt. room and food good. staff were fantastic, made to feel like we were the only ones that mattered even when busy. have rebooked as would go back again and again.

User

Seated and served straight away. Meal was lovely had to wait a little for desserts but it was a busy Sunday afternoon so couldn't complain really but because the server realised we did have to wait he took the price of desserts off the bill. Can't wait to return keep up the good work ÔøΩ

User

Really pleased my husband and I are both vegan

We were happy to see clearly labelled vegan options on on the menu

Food and service great

User

I love this pub!! Staff are very friendly, food is always well presented and never have to wait long! Always a warm welcome, and I’m looking forward to returning at the weekend

User

Food and service was excellent, need air con in the conny area though as the door was open all the dandelion seats kept blowing through, but they did move us too another table to accommodate us, will Deffo come back :)

User

Attentive helpful and friendly staff, the room was a good size with lots of storage. The bathroom actually had a bath, fabulous water pressure and lots of hot water. Superking bed!! Everywhere was really warm.

Streak was really tasty and hubby had the special Christmas dinner, he said the sprouts were perfect as was the Turkey.

The breakfast was superb.

It was very relaxing view by the river, a very pretty spot which lots of parking

Also if you book directly through them you get 20% off your food!!

User

Absolutely beautiful place and amazing pleasant staff thanks for an amazing meal done how I liked it and tasted beautiful xx

User

We were there having a meal last night with family, the food was very good, piping hot and freshly cooked, only grumble was slow service, with both starters and main courses, would definitely eat there again

User

Can’t fault it, stayed two nights on our boat and had a lovely breakfast each morning and a couple of evening meals. Good service and great value for money

User

Went yesterday for Lunch , we waited at least half hour for out lunch to come .... , which didn’t please my 4 yr old , it finally came after my husband went and asked about it , mine and husbands were ok , however my 4 yr old had diy wrap which looked like it had been stood for a while cause the cheese was obviously Starting to melt in the heat , staff ok though

User

went for sunday dinner today.clean and freindly place but the meals awful.cold .micro waved.bland and tasteless.on asking for bill we were left sat there for over 30 mins waiting.very poor in all.

User

Went yesterday for a couple of drinks in the sunshine. Firstly the bar area itself was disgusting, wet through and sticky, the tables out front weren’t cleared for ages. Condiments sat there in the hot sun waiting for the next customer to eat. The worst of all were the toilets, omg disgusting, toilets blocked, tissue roll everywhere, obviously not checked regularly. Such a disgrace.

User

Well where do I start it took 20 mins to get served at the bar. Then we sat for a meal another 30 mins to get served we had to ask to order food, it came out ok but burger was burnt to be honest I think the microwave had more qualifications than the cheff, We paid and left will not be returning there for food drink near the river was really nice, That's all it has going for it.

User

Was in yesterday , 12.15. Myself and the Mrs had steak in ale pie . Daughter ham. Daughter complained to me it tasted like fish ? . Thought she was being picky. Pie had never seen ale and was all pastry , deffo no ale . Tasteless. Weatherspoons blows you lot out of the water for a fraction of the price and let's be honest , it's all microwave stuff. I tried the daughters ham thinking it was her being picky and it tasted of a cross between fish , and nothing. Never asked if everything was ok so no complaint on the day. 100% won't bother coming again. Tasteless shite

User

Poor, slow service, lots of staff seemily floating around not doing much, can’t seem to cope when moderately busy, must be a nightmare when it's very busy! Took a while to be seated and we were just about to leave and go somewhere else when a member of staff came along and showed us to a table. Can’t say I’ll be going back in a hurry, not to eat there anyway!

User

My parents really enjoyed their meals. But I really didn’t enjoy mine. I’m vegetarian and it’s really hard to find places that know how to put together a decent veggie meal (a hint is that you take the meat out and replace it with a substitute). I ordered the Hallumi Flatbread as the other options didn’t appeal to me. To my disappointment my meal was dry. The Flatbread was solid (dry), the hallumi was over cooked (dry) and the chips were dry. It was if the sauce had been added to cover how dry everything was.

I ate the hallumi (which was a task), left the Flatbread and fed most of the chips to my dog. The dessert was ok though, but still I wouldn’t return there again myself or recommend it to any vegetarians.

User

Had a family birthday meal tonight. Astonishingly poor food. To start with, it was cold. My beef pie didn't have one edible piece of meat... instead chewy gristle. The other meals were, week what can one say.

The thing is, looking at other people's meals or experience was mirror here too.

It just shows that the buying of suitable or even fairly good quality food is low down on their agenda.

Very poor. This is the 5th and final time... over the past year the for has always been perhaps one of the worst in all my eating in Notts. If you want a Sunday roast... If defo. try somewhere else.

I heard others complaining but feel of deaf ears.

Oh dear oh dear.
