The Vaudevillian School Of Arts Description

We are a performing arts school with a difference. We embrace variety in people and in the performing arts and thoroughly encourage it in our students. We do not want them to be replicas of one another, we want them to discover who they really are and find their individual style and flourish it via the arts. Originality, individualism, and confidence in those traits alongside top technique are key to becoming a prodigious performer. We want them to grow into the person and artist that they want to be and that makes them happy. Whether that is in the music industry, musical theatre, dance championships, travelling circuses, television or simply for penultimate fun. We aim to cater for all.
We cover core performance classes such as Ballet, Tap and Jazz, as well as more diverse classes such as Rock n Roll, Circus, Disco, Salsa and more to broaden the knowledge and interest of our students in the wide assortment that is show business.
Most schools will aim at their students becoming a triple threat performer, triple threat meaning singing, acting and dancing…. but VSA believe we can do better than that. We teach and encourage them to be more than triple threat and the best that they can be by training them hard in the core subjects as well as allowing their imaginations to run wild in new and exciting styles of performance alongside forwarding on the classic old styles of performance from the golden age of showbiz such as Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.

We specialise in many dance styles, and performance based classes such as: Jazz; Tap; Ballet; Contemporary; Lady Salsa; English Country dancing; Street; Hip Hop; Lyrical Hip Hop; Commercial Pop; Freestyle Disco; Rock n Roll; Lindyhop; Charleston; Flamenco; Pas de Deux (Couples dancing); Irish dancing; Cheerleading; Brazilian Carnival; Burlesque; Acting (for stage and screen); Circus class; Musical Theatre; GLEE club; Choral singing; Solo singing; Pop singing; Voice; Music Theory and more!
We also provide amazingly fun exercise classes, you won’t even notice you’re losing the pounds and toning up at the same time! We have: Aerobics; Jazzercise; The Goddess Workout; LBT (legs, bums and tums); Yoga and more!

VSA classes rotate from being a technical based period- this is where lessons focus on learning the technique required and building up strength in stamina in those subjects of which they will be able to apply to a performance. Students can then chose to take part in examinations with the IDTA- International Dance Teachers Association, hosted by VSA, of which they will received medals and official certificates for. This is highly recommended in order to progress with VSA and is a highly rewarding process for all students.
Classes will then change to a performance based period, creating a great balance of learning and mastering the technicalities of the class, to applying them to a form of show in front of an audience, whether it be on a small scale in the studio in front of parents and friends or at a village fête, or in a full scale production at a theatre.

We hope to provide plenty of fun for our students, catering for all their learning needs and creating a great place to make new friends as well as teaching them amazing technique and professionalism in the arts, whilst aiding them in gaining confidence in themselves which they can apply to everything in life, and for the older students, preparing them for stage schools, auditioning and a life working in the performing arts industry.
