You can’t beat a steak chips peas and mushrooms for £5 .. it was well cooked and the staff very quick.. I will be back 👍

Staff very friendly and excellent, been a few changes seems to be a lot better. Food is amazing, decent quality and doesn't cost the earth. Also good to go and chill for the afternoon.

Went here last night for my wife’s birthday and had a great time ! Food was great, very well priced too. Took both my kids (one who was autistic) and they loved it too ! Staff couldn’t do enough for you ! Would highly recommend and will be back.

There were 5 of us,we had ribeye steaks and one lasagne all food very good , also lovely and hot , staff very friendly x have been before with grandchildren all enjoyed it ,

Been a few months since our last visit

They said no bacon so could not do the smothered chicken

No potatoes so they could not to a jacket potato

We chose skillets sadly with no sizzle

But to be fair we chose Gammon as our second choice and it was fine

So we enjoyed our lunch eventually,but in future will choose somewhere that has bacon and potatoes

As a regular on match days was very disappointed on Saturday. There were six of us. No steaks! We were told 45 minutes wait. After an hour we asked what had happened to our food were told it would be another 15 minutes. This is simply not good enough. The staff knew we were going to the football. It was not the fault of the waitress. She can only tell people what she is getting told by the chef. They knew from the beginning of the season what days the needed extra staff. Also they were serving people with Burgers quickly but we wanted Chicken New Yorkers.

Unfortunately, out with the family, very poor food, my Sister ordered Super Salad and when it came, it was nothing like advertised on Menu. My Brothers Food had to be sent back as not hot. My husband fish was over cooked and curled up. Sadly I recommended Water Tull to my family, ( Party of 9 ) and they was very very disappointed. Had to wait an hour for the food.

The drinks and staff fantastic the food however all meals where very cold the meat dishes very disappointing but thumbs up to the staff very friendly great place for drinks but wouldn’t recommend eating at this venue

Only 1 person serving .same person bring out food so didn't bother ordering lunch .only stayed for 1 drink .not good for the customers or the 1 person doing everything ...

We arrived at around 7pm and waited over 1 and a half hours for our food. Within this time we had already asked someone to check the kitchen to see how long it would be, they said 5 minutes, another 20 minutes passed and we still had no food. I would not recommend based on this. However, I did want to say a positive. I only managed to get the name of one member of staff, Jackie, who was absolutely lovely to us the whole evening. She was very understanding to our dissapointment and we are aware it wasn't the fault of any staff member at the bar, but more of those in the kitchen. Jackie ended the night removing our bill due to our terrible experience and without her, we wouldn't ever consider visiting again. So thank you to Jackie, as well as a blonde lady who is actually based at another pub in Milton Keynes, I am unsure of her name but she was also great throughout. The staff we met were lovely, it's just a huge shame about the service from behind the scenes.

So disappointed last night. The starter was so cold that the melted cheese had set solid. They had ran out of chicken and no jacket spuds and it was only 7 30. They had ran out of sizzling plates so the mains were only luke warm. That's twice now so never again

Only a few people ther. 40min wait for the food. Had a 10z steak and looked more like 5oz and was charcoaled to death despite ordering medium. Chips were oil soaked and over cooked. Offered to replace my meal when I complained but with a min 30min wait meaning my girlfriend would have eaten her meal and we would not be eating dinner together which was the purpose of going out. Asked for a full refund and went somewhere else. Would not go back or recommend to anyone else.

Myself and my partner went there at 1.20pm on a Tuesday, there were no more than 8 other customers in the whole place, there was only 1 person working there, we waited 50 minutes for our meal and when it finally arrived it was stone cold, it also looked like a out of the freezer meal and not prepared from fresh, we got a full refund but as we had kids to pick up from school we did not have time to go elsewhere.will not be going there again.

Meal was awful. Cold, 2 meals sent back and was told would have 2new cooked meals .brought out minus onion rings, it has just been heated up in microwave, cold tomato. Got money back but not good enough. Heard other customers sending food back as was cold and asking for money back. Also 45 min wait. Don’t know why pub wasn’t busy. Other restaurants were full so had no choice but to go to this one.

It's only 1 star as I can't go lower.



I visited The Walter Tull last night (13th November) with family to celebrate what would have been our mums birthday.

Our table was booked for 7.30pm, we were the only people in there, I soon found out why...



-We were told that if we wanted burgers they would come without buns as they had run out!?!

-So we chose different meals of which 3 were 8oz rump steaks (on the £5 offer)

We were told that there were no rump steaks but we could have sirloin, I asked for a discount and was quite flatly told "no".

-A couple of the meals chosen included cheese but we were then told they had no cheese!?!

-As for drinks, when ordering coffees and hot chocolate we were told that the drinks machine was broken!?!



To say we were disappointed is a complete and utter understatement.



Come on Flaming Grill sort it out, there is absolutely no excuse for this kind of incompetence.

If I could give a lower score I would.

We went for a meal on 31/8, we arrived at around 7pm, there were signs up stating the kitchen was closing at 8pm which gave us plenty of time to choose and order. So we chose a table and perused the menu.

We went to the bar to order, we had wanted to order onion rings as a starter but were told they didn't have any, so we ordered our mains which consisted of 1x mixed grill with new york topper for the steak, 1x surf n turf and 1x scampi. My mum wanted a cup of tea but was told the hot drinks machine was broken! We was also told that the freezer was broken!

There was only 4 other people waiting for food yet we still waited for 40 mins for our food to arrive. 30 minutes into our wait for food they suddenly realised that they didn't have any cheese so I couldn't have my steak topper and the cost of this was refunded. When our food finally arrived we were told and I quote " apologies for the delay but the freezer is broken "

Now I'm not a chef but I'm pretty sure you don't cook food in a freezer so don't know why that delayed the food!

This is where things went from bad to worse, my steak should've been medium well but it was very well done, my mums steak was meant to be medium but was well done, my wife's scampi whilst edible was soft and mushy instead of nice and crispy.

I decided I couldn't eat my steak as it was to tough, I was struggling to cut it.

I cut into the chicken breast to find that it was still raw inside.

We immediately called the waitress over who took the food away and said she would send the manager over.

The manager apologised and said it can't be raw as the chicken comes pre cooked!!! We point that the chicken was in fact raw and she then refunded the cost of my meal.

This should've been a nice treat for my mums birthday instead it was just a nightmare.



Plus I have now been ill all day

Arrived in the car park at 11:50 on a Sunday, tried the door but it was locked with no opening hours in sight, got back in the car and googled the hours, which happened to be 12 so my partner and I decided to wait. While waiting in the car a very scruffy member of staff stood with the fire exit door open at the front of the pub, barely standing outside, smoking a cigarette, all the smoke was going into the restaurant, at the end of his cigarette he just threw it on the floor! When the pub opened we went in to be greeted by the smell of cigarettes, surprisingly!!

Once sat at the table we noticed the menus were filthy and table was sticky.

We have no grumble with the food or service really as you get what you pay for but there is no excuse for the filth in that place.

The condiments holders on the tables are rancid, full of old sauce spillage, rust and general grime, the cutlery is just beyond belief, luckily I carry wet wipes with me, the glass divide between the bar area and “restaurant” is absolutely disgusting, grease, grime, finger prints and who knows what else all over it.

Come on guys just pick up a clean cloth and clean the place, it looks like you have given up on the place and couldn’t care less, very disappointing, I shouldn’t think we will be back as we have mentioned the cleanliness before.

Your food maybe cheap and cheerful but that doesn’t mean the place should be dirty, hot soapy water will do wonders for your tables!

After waiting over an hour for my burger considering there were only 3 other tables in the place! It arrived without any cheese, far too much onion (I mean way way too much onion!) And undercooked and cold chips! I went to the bar to find a member of staff as there was none in the dining area and to my surprise there were no members of staff on the bar! After eventually finding someone I stressed my concern with the meal and they took it away. They brought it back and all they had done was put a cold cheese slice in my burger! I ended up leaving the meal and going elsewhere as I would feed that to my dog!!
