About The Watchmaker'S Arms

Brighton & Hove's first micropub - now open at 84 Goldstone Villas in Hove, just south of Hove Station

Rick brewed an Old Ale yesterday, and instead of throwing away the spent grain we decided to make some dog biscuits for the pub. Muffin approves! Available at the bar from tomorrow while stocks last! (Next batch available after the next brew day!)

User

Muffin has just paid her first visit to The Foghorn micropub in Boundary Road. She was disappointed there were no dog biscuits - she waited patiently by the bar. We were also disappointed there was no beer! That should be taken care of before they open their doors in November though. If youŌĆÖre excited about their opening then give their Facebook page a like (other social media platforms are available).

Here's some more info on our Snailspace Run on October 28th. Mark Halls has plotted our route again this year and we've put the route into a Google Map which might prevent you getting lost on the day. We've shared that here so hopefully you can use the link to see the route on your mobile device. We'll be printing and laminating some as well, which will be available at the pub in the days before the run. We'll figure out the timings shortly so that you'll know when and where to join if you're not coming to the start at Stanmer. Trains all look to be working (unless you're coming from London!) so we'll aim to get the 7:47 from Brighton to Falmer and be ready to leave Stanmer at 8:30. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewerŌ Ć”

Here's gorgeous little Charlie, 3 weeks old, on his first visit. Warmest congrats to lovely Laura and James. ŌØż’ĖÅ¤ÆÉ

Had a great evening at the new Holler Brewery tap in Brighton last night. TheyŌĆÖve done an amazing job and we now have another great venue on the Brighton & Hove beer scene. Thanks for the invite!

If you took part in our 2016 Snow Dog run you'll be delighted to hear that we're planning another run for Snailspace Brighton & Hove, raising piles of cash for Martlets Hospice - this time it will be bigger and better! The format will be similar to last time with those of you wanting to enjoy the whole run and bag all 50 snails starting at Stanmer House. The route will then bring us into the north of the City, out to the Marina, then back through the south of the city, onto H...ove Lagoon then back to Hove Park where we'll have a big finishing photo and head down to the Watchmaker's for beer and sandwiches. We're planning the route now and when that's done you'll be able to figure our when and where to join us if you want to do just part of the route. More info to follow but save the date... Sunday 28th October - which is the same day as the clocks go back so you'll get an extra hour in bed! More details about Snailspace can be found here... https://www.snailspacebrighton.co.uk/ #hove #micropub #bemoresnail

Some of you may have seen this post from the Brunswick about Ed. Our good friends at Downlands Brewery have brewed a delicious Pale in his honour and we have a keg now pouring at The WatchmakerŌĆÖs. All profits will go to Grassroots Suicide Prevention (see below). So come along raise a glass.

User

HereŌĆÖs the front page of CAMRA - the Campaign for Real Ale, the consumer's champion WhatŌĆÖs Brewing that just landed on our mat. This delicious breakfast stout from Siren Craft Brew was tapped last night at the WatchmakerŌĆÖs and wonŌĆÖt last long! DonŌĆÖt miss it! #CBOB #hove #micropub

Our hogshead Horace is sporting his newest hat. This one was kindly donated by @hollerbrewery following their mariachi band event!

We had a lovely evening with Lesley and James from Langham Brewery at our ŌĆśMeet the BrewerŌĆÖ evening, part of our Brighton & Hove Beer Week events. They brought lots of samples from their fantastic range, as well as malts and hops for everyone to scratch and sniff! We were oŌĆÖreally excited to hear about their upcoming plans to introduce keg beers, and canŌĆÖt wait to start serving them soon! Watch this space......¤Ź╗

User

Tonight's Brighton & Hove Beer Week Meet the Brewer event brings the lovely people from Langham Brewery over to the Watchmaker's all the way from Lodsworth. Make sure you drop in and say hi!

User

only popped in for a quick half while waiting for another delayed train (thanks southern) but seemed to be a lovely friendly pub with a good selection of ciders and ales, including local ones. would go again :-)

User

Seriously love this place! Great beers and a great selection of sausage rolls for meat eaters and veggies. Lovely warm staff too!

User

Probably the best micropub in Brighton and Hove! Super friendly staff and an excellent ever changing selection of 5 ales and 2 keg lines. Something for everyone, just don't tell everyone!! ¤æŹ¤Å╗¤śā

User

Popped in to sample a couple of the real ciders. Lovely little pub, well worth a visit

User

My new favourite pub in Hove. Always a superb beer selection, all served at the right temperature and in a decent glass (no matter the size), lovely friendly staff and a relaxing place to be.

User

Love this place! Friendly and welcoming owners and customers, great selection of well kept ales - will definitely be finding an excuse to visit Brighton and Hove again to come back here!

User

Love this place! Always a great selection of ales on and the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. Great cosy vibe in there too ’┐Į

User

Love love love this place... Fantastic atmosphere and they really care about your pint!! And it shows!!

User

Less than minute walk from hove station. This is a blinding micro pub where you can sometimes meet the person who brewed the beer ! sausage rolls are the best. Walk past? No way !! But check opening hours...

User

Great pub - good size for a micropub with a great beer range - very handy for Hove station especially if train delayed !

User

Great micro brewery pub. Staff is friendly, always welcome and smiley face and they know what they sell and always advise and give you an information about the drinks. Cosy place, tons of watches/clocks of course. But I realised cuckoo clock is not working anymore, didn't hear it yesterday :( Cheese board on Sundays, yummy. One of my favourite pub in around Hove train station, I wish more delay on train time table so I can drink more :)

User

Friendly, cosy and loads of dogs. So happy to have this place as my local.

User

Excellent beer straight from barrels held at the best temperature in an air conditioned room. Great friendly peopleŌĆ”it'a sociable s pub like they used to be!

User

Dropped in with a friend for an early evening drink today and loved what I found. First, the atmosphere was warm and convivial. And then I noticed the soundscape: just a murmur of voices. No one competing to talk over music or TV. I also love the idea of just joining a table and either sitting quietly or starting up a conversation. And I found the publican's (if that's the right word) explanation of what a micro pub is inspiring. Make sure to check the opening hours before you go - this one is run by two people with day jobs, so naturally it can't be open all the time. Can't wait to go back.

User

Bestie micro pub in Hove, itŌĆÖs the only micro pub in Hove, but it is great. If you like real ale you should definitely visit this pub.

User

Best kept secret in hove ’┐Į

User

Beautiful little place! Feels like home as soon as you walk in. Lovely, smiley staff to make you feel welcome x (and the rhubarb infused cider is to die for!!)

User

Another great micro pub .
