User

The whole ambience of the restaurant is stunning. Service is excellent and made very welcome. Food was extremely good with a wide range of choice. Quite properly for its ownership there is no alcohol but this is a minor issue. Plenty of soft drink and alcohol free cocktails. Can recommend totally.

Tasty authentic food, try the lamb chops for a starter!! They are amazing! The service is excellent and the atmosphere is awesome. It's a big place and busy..first we were worried that on a busy night will we get good food and service.. but this didn't impact on the food or service! I would definitely reccomend.. don't listen to the bad reviews.. try for yourself!

I travelled from Harrogate to have lunch with friends, who recommended the restaurant. The food and service were excellent and the portions were generous too!

I recently visited with friends for dinner. What a great place to dining for friends, couples and faamilies. Very elegant staff, Polite service. Eficcent and professional management to organise event. We seen staff presented birthday cake to family who was celebrating birthday of their family member. They play nice music. Very beautiful and imperial style sitting areas.

Thanks

I recommend to all the people Love to go out for dianing.

I have been going to Tipu Sultan frequently since it opened, the service is still impeccable, the food is outstanding, the interior is like a palace and kept clean and well and the people are warm and friendly.

User

Excellent food, excellent service, will definitely return

User

The food was lovely as usual and atmosphere too. Will be back for more 👍🏼

Real Indian food as it should be. Taste every spice in the right balance. A must place to eat. Beautiful surrounding, the service we experienced was great too. Only thing is don't expect any wine which we normally enjoy with dinner. Restaurant alcohol free but food divine just have to go for a drink after !

Lovely ambience and decor. A little more effort into the taste of food would make this place a 5*. Mysore Tiger Prawns were completely bland. Also, over cooking prawns make them harder and that's exactly what was done with them in our case. Mocktail glasses are too small & filled up half with ice which makes your actual drink too little.

Just finished eating another scrumptious meal at Tipu’s...our (premier) destination of choice for Authentic Indian/ Pakistani cuisine in Leicestershire. After a long day of meetings in Milton Keynes (plus a detour on the way back), we couldn’t face getting home late(ish) and then deciding what to cook and eat...so, went on an impromptu visit. We weren’t disappointed! Great service, professional, friendly and attentive.

The started were delicious and good sized portions...the only reason I’ve scored this review 4 stars is because the main dish of Sultanni Murgh was a little bit too dry (not enough sauce) and a little bit too much oil (we like to try different dishes of the menu)!

We will be back very soon...

User

Excellent interior design inside the restaurant and mocktails was very nice.Hopefully I’ll visit again.😘

Lovely ambience and service was amazing. Place has excellent decor and does feel special inside. By far the cleanest toilets in any Leicestershire restaurant.

Starters were amazing. Chicken was tender but just lacked a little bit of taste. The lamb chops had a lot of taste but we're let down with too much chewy fat left on them. Presentation was perfect and i was made to feel special and welcomed.

Mains is where it fell apart. Chicken curry on Karai wasn't that great, no taste to it at all. Chicken still had cartilage in it and I could feel it whilst chewing. This let it down. If it was cut off to start off with, would have been better.

Worth a visit to this wonderful looking place. If you want a dining experience I'd recommend it. If you want proper quality Indian food cooked impeccably, try Paddy's Martin Inn, Indian Queen, or The Woolpack. All would blow Tipu Sultan out the water on mains.

User

Food was excellent taste very nice service was very poor and I suppose the time we were there at the time it was kind of a busy night for the restaurant all in all I’ll eat there if I am the town. Good luck to the staff

Went on the 15th November 2017 for our daughters 21st Birthday. It was my daughters choice so we went there at 8 pm. It was a table of 11 and Bihal was the table waiter. Nice reception and service was brilliant hence the 2 star. The mint sauce was so salty it was just awful. The food was okay, nothing special. Apart from the land spicy dish that my wife chose, they all tasted the same. My youngest son had the chicken tikka mossallah with chips. The chips came as we were halfway thru the meal after asking for it twice. My little boy was sick after having the curry there and than and been sick all day today. He was sent home from School after being sick in the School and was advised to see the Gp with possible food poisoning. Awful experience, awful food but Great Service And thank you Bihal for looking after us. Definitely won’t return.

Starters were good but main courses were just ok and dessert was good too. We had to wait for 1 hour and 15 minutes to get the table and prices were way too high considering the taste and portion quantity. Atmosphere and Decor was excellent.

So we came to eat at your restaurant yesterday and after always travelling to Birmingham to eat at your other restaurant we decided to try yourselves out for a family members birthday and i have to say i have never been so disappointed! After bragging so much about the Birmingham branch I expected the Leicester one to be just as good but shamefully it wasn't.

Firstly your staff were so rude from the moment we walked in. Before we even started ordering we were told to hurry up as the kitchen closes at 10.45 bare in mind he told us this at 9pm so we had plenty of time!

When ordering we asked for the non veg dishes to be slightly more spicier and when the food came they had made veg and non veg so spicy that the food couldn't be eaten.

We also had children with us who then couldn't eat the food. When a staff member came to ask if the food was ok we stated that it was very spicy and he told us well you asked for it like that so you got it like that we only do what the customer says. HOWEVER we did not ask for the veg to be spicy

Towards the end we asked them to bring the cake out for the family members birthday. USUALLY when we do this at other restaurants they will automatically bring a knife, plates and spoons.

But we had to ask for plates and spoons we even then had to ask for a knife aswel, I mean what did they expect us to do, cut the cake with the spoons?

I have heard a lot of reviews to state your staff members are very rude and service is terrible and i still thought no i love the food at Tipu Sultan in Birmingham lets give the Leicester one a try. (Bad Idea)

To top it off majority of us have woken up today with an dodgy stomach. Completely ruined the experience of dinning with yourselves.

Just a TIP to yourselves, Instead of spending so much time and money on making the place look grand and beautiful, Maybe spending a little more time and money to train your staff to be friendly and to provide the best customer service as yesterdays service was appalling. Even just smiling would be a great improvement!
