The weather may be unsettled but the colour in the plant area is certainly brightening our day!

We still have lots of new stock arriving daily in the plant area, these beautiful Polemonium, Lavender and Sunflower’s are some of our favourite’s at the moment 🌞🌞

As Wimbledon is now in full flow we thought we would offer Pimms and Strawberry delights in the Digg cafe. Along with the sunshine it’s a perfect afternoon treat 🌞

With temperature’s of over 30 degrees forecast, tomorrow is certainly an ice cream and relaxing day. We have a fully air conditioned restaurant if you’re looking for a break from the heat or an outside seating area with sandpit and ice cream hut with ample covered seating.

With better weather forecast the plant area is still well stocked with lots of stunning colour for instant impact 🌞🌞

We have the East Midlands Bonsai society show here this weekend, the gentlemen have put on a great display and are here all weekend to answer any questions you may have.

Yet again Mike Baldwin and the students at Derby College have done wonders to win a Silver Merit award at this years BBC Gardeners World Live. We are proud to say that Trowell Garden Centre is one of their sponsors and despite very adverse weather this year, Mike and all his students have done a wonderful job! I was very lucky to visit yesterday, in between the rain showers to view all the magnificent show gardens and flower pavilion.

We’re serving a Gentleman’s Afternoon tea and a Mixed Grill alongside our full menu this Sunday for Father’s day, The cafe opens at 9.30am for breakfast with our lunch serving starting at 11.45am.

With Father’s Day this Sunday we’ve lots of lovely gifts within the garden centre for that special man in your life. What better time to introduce our new Gentleman’s afternoon tea which is served with a choice of alcoholic or non alcoholic drink and served daily.

Our food and drink department has recently expanded and we’ve had lots of new stock in today, just in time for World Gin day tomorrow 😁 and Father’s day on the 16th June. We love the displays in store.

Just over a week until Horticulture students at Broomfield College, Derby are hoping to continue their winning streak at the prestigious BBC Gardeners World Live show at the NEC this summer. Once again we are proud to be one of their sponsors, alongside Derby Multiple Sclerosis Society. We have a sneak preview of the set up along side these giant teak root horses made especially for the garden.

We have an expanding toy range within the garden centre, we are now stocking products from Ravensburger, TY, Big Jigs and many more including pocket money classics from House of Marbles.

Thank you to all who brought in a child to take part in planting sunflower seeds for National Children’s Gardening week!
Hopefully it’s inspired a few young budding gardeners and it won’t be long in this warm weather before we see little seedlings 🌱 Keep an eye out for our Sunflower competition over the summer holidays! 🌻☀️👫
... Our Charity box for the Greenfingers Children’s charity will be in store which is dedicated to providing magical gardens for children in hospices suffering from life limiting illnesses.
