We absolutely love this restaurant, we booked a table online and I added in the comments my partner had a allergy & it was his birthday. As soon as we arrived they wished him a happy birthday & when we got to our table balloons were brought to him (he was very embarrassed) our server was Josh & he was fantastic. They even brought over the allergy book to us to make sure there was no issues. My 9 year old wanted to read out what her order was & Josh was fantastic. Brilliant service & fantastic food!!

Service was excellent, great value for money, regular check backs for sauce, drinks, extra chips etc. Lovely evening out with the kids. Gaps between courses was just right. Will definitely be going again.

I visited here this week for a works conference near by. I was worried as I am vegan and I don't like to cause issues when I'm out. Our waiter, bless him was brilliant there is the new vegan burger available and he checked the menu for starters and deserts that were suitable but there wasn't any (not his fault). In the morning at breakfast I asked if the mushrooms were cooked in oil or butter, (they are cooked in butter) but they had arranged to cook a separate portion for me. All the staff were brilliant and can not fault them

Food was good and tasty only criticism was not as hot as it could have been.we stayed over and had the full English again temperature was an issue, poached eggs were perfect and hot but the rest had obviously been pre cooked and not been kept very warm.the service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble both with the evening meal and the breakfast.would recommend.

As a party of five, we went to the Beefeater Turnpike last night (29th Nov 2017) for an early Christmas meal celebration. It was really busy, but since we booked, we knew we were getting a table! Our Festive meals were all lovely, no-one had any complaints. Our experience there was nothing but great, made even better by the new Manager; Chris Hoyt. He was hilarious! He was our highlight to the evening, from being made to feel very welcome, he had great banter (especially taking on 5 women of all ages) and we were constantly laughing whenever he popped over to our table, if we could have had him sitting with us all night, we would have! We all would highly recommend this place, great food and great service. Chris, you were a legend...........

After a disappointing experience in another local establishment where we'd hoped to watch an important football game for our team and been let down when we turned up, we decided to abandon watching the game and go to the Turnpike for lunch. What a great decision that was!

We were seated by the charming manager, who spotted our son's kit and confessed to being a fan of the opposing team! He immediately handed us his mobile phone so that we were able to watch the game at our table! He kept coming to check on us during the course of our delicious meal and even wished us luck in the next round. Our afternoon was saved! Thank you.

We had a lovely meal and amazing service from a waitress called Stacy, on 3rd August! ... sadly breakfast the following morning was a disaster! Hot plate but the whole breakfast was COLD and due to a mix up with the hotel voucher, they said we weren't down for the breakfast, mid way through eating the waitress was still trying to sort it out and coming to our table talking about it, this turned a relaxing breakfast into a stressful meal that we ended up giving up on!

I love the Beefeater at Harpole and have for years. Fab food, atmosphere etc but the only thing that I feel you fall down on is low Alcohol drinks for drivers. Other than the usual pops, juices etc there was nothing. There are several beers that you could stock and also Kopparberg do a alcohol free cider and also wines, which other places stock so why can't you??

It's a bit hit and miss I went there two weeks ago and had the gammon which was lovely. Then went yesterday had mushrooms starter which had a hair in it and steak for main I asked for medium and when it arrived it was practically raw. My husband asked for rare and said it was so rare it was blue. Common beefeater sort yourselves out.

Hobgoblin Gold rather nice pint. Steak okay. Not as good as last night’s Italian. Proving the difference between a “chain” pub/restaurant and independent owned one. Horses for courses! Beefeater not much better than Wetherspoons really. But more expensive. Nicer atmosphere though and more of a restaurant feel, than bargain booze establishment. But not brilliant.

A young lad told us as as we arrived that there were no tables available. It was empty.Asked a young lady who gave us a table straight away. They had ran out of Sunday roasts by 3pm.Ran out of 2 desserts also!!! 1 barmaid so the drinks took for ever to be brought to the table. Wouldn't go again

Only one poor girl to serve behind the bar ! Don't management realize that it takes ages to take a food order ? And when 4 people are queuing for to place food orders and a couple more need drinks it means at least 25 minutes waiting to be served. And it wasn't even busy!! Missing items on all of our mixed grills and 20 minutes waiting for ice cream which was completely melted by the time it was brought to the table . Poor show beefeater ...

We have eaten here on occasion, had meal recently and we were both surprised as to the potion served, don't know if because we eaten out in garden, but we were disappointed with potion served, ended up ordering extra potion chips and still felt it was lacking,.

Have just been for the breakfast and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. The poached eggs were hard boiled and the beans were all burnt. When asked the chef for new products he was rude and aggressive. Would not be returning.

Got up nice and early to have breakfast arrived at 8:15 to be told fully booked and not accepting walk ins.. so travelled 20mins to be turned away.. obviously the 3 tables that were in use are too much for them to handle.. oh and that because premier in is fully booked they are reserving tables for them.. will not return.. oh and we checked website to make sure it was open before we left!!

User

Booked a table in advance, was disappointed on arrival to have to stand at the host station being ignored by bar staff for at least 5 minutes, eventually seated and gave our drinks order only to be informed there was no draught beer or post mix soft drinks. We sat waiting for our drinks for 20 minutes with no sign of any staff until eventually waitress arrived to take our food order - we informed her we were still waiting for drinks which she went off to collect - 10 minutes later we put our coats on and left!!!! Absolutely abysmal service especially considering the place was practically empty - no wonder really!!!!!!!!

Ate here Sunday 19th November decided to eat in the bar as we had grandaughter with us

Ordered meal at the bar to be told our choice of burger was no longer available fine we changed our choice only to be told 20 mins later my husbands meal of pasta and seafood was no longer available consequently our food arrived dried up as it had been sitting under the heat lamps mushy peas like concrete burger buns like cardboard and burgers dry we feel you need to rectify this situation so your regular clients don’t dessert you !!
