Some great ideas for a day's walking at https://www.beckythetraveller.com/hiking- uk-best-day-hike…/…
Looks like an earthquake has struck but this is the old Sheffield to Manchester road which is slowly sliding down Mam Tor near Castleton in Derbyshire.
The Wirral Caravan and Motorhome Club site has some good views over the Dee Estuary but a bit open to the strong westerly winds. Usual good facilities but unfortunately the toilet paper holders have been placed in an awkward position that you need to sit at a 45deg angle meaning your right foot protrudes under the partition into the next cubicle!! .....not ideal!! Good cycling along the coastal cycle route and easy access to the beach. We took a train from the local station into Liverpool for a day trip.
Capesthorne House caravan site with excellent modern facilities has about 50 pitches most with electric hook up. Located nr Chester the pitch fees include woodland walk and access to the gardens. Remote and quiet, great for a relaxing weekend.
Thrybergh Country Park, South Yorkshire we spent an overnight stop there last week. Good facilities, ehu and best of all the lakeside café serving a superb breakfast. Pleasant walk around the lake and through the park. Ideal for a weekend away.

Duke of York pub campsite nr Buxton. Great location for walking and cycling the trails. Excellent pub with a good selection of real ales and great food. Modern shower block, good views across countrywide and only a 10 minute drive into Buxton. We will return.
An old 10' long 1970s Astral Scout in it's final days spotted whilst walking near Cusworth Hall Country Park. Shame as it doesn't look in too bad condition. Ideal to make into a garden summer house.
Ferryboat Farm Fisheries Campsite at Old Denaby nr Doncaster. A great little 5 van site with good facilities and friendly owner. A great place to explore the local area - some good English Heritage properties, parks and museums to explore nearby.
Chipping Norton Camping and Caravanning Club site in the Cotswolds. Located about a mile or so south of the town where there are several good pubs, shops and a museum. The site has new modern facilities and well laid out. Bus stop at the site entrance. A good base for exploring the Cotswolds.
Cheltenham Racecourse CAMC site located a 20 minute pleasant walk through parks from the centre. Great views over the racecourse and countryside beyond. Good facilities and good pubs and food in a local village about a 15 minute walk. Park and ride buses adjacent to the site.
