- have an offer to study at the University of Lincoln (Pre-sessional).

If English is not your first language, we offer in-sessional support to help you improve both your English language and study skills during your time in Lincoln.
Successful academic study at University level requires being able to demonstrate a wide range of writing, reading and speaking skills. For international students, expectations of how to write may be very different from those of their own countries. For some students it is about learning a new way of thinking and writing.
The English Language Centre's (ELC) in-sessional workshops and other services are designed to help students make this transition and acquire the academic skills they need to succeed in an academic environment in the UK. In addition to the workshops students can also access one-to-one advice about their writing skills and areas of improvement.
