... We turn into an alterior dimensions 'Ready Steady Cook', whatever is in the fridge/cupboards gets fried, roasted or sautéed in sea salt and olive oil and devoured!
Here we have Sundays champion.... Freshly baked french stick, roasted shroom dogs, diced potatoes, slow and shallow fried from raw, in garlic and fresh rosemary olive oil, finished off in the oven and doused with cider vinegar and sea salt, sautéed tofu marinated in tamari and fried off with garlic and red onions, slatherings of Veganaise, dijon mustard and ketchup. Wonderful place for vegan food, the food was fantastic! I had the 'Buddy Dilly' - Avacado, artichoke, pine nuts, toms and roasted courgette in a chunky roll with soya slaw. Made a mess of myself and there were noises. People looked. The staff were really friendly and made me feel right at home. If I'd have had my slippers they would have struggled to get rid of me. Lots of vintage trinkets and art work on sale as well, with a great vintage shop right next door. A real gem of a place.

Thanks for making me feel so welcome today! Being a vegetarian, then taking away dairy too... it’s even harder to decide what’s for lunch when you take away gluten but you mase me realise it works with such amazing flavour �

Popped in the other day for lunch with my Cluck Weekend planner Joan and we had a delicious lunch of pizza with the most delicious tomato sauce base, avocado, olives and pine nuts and then....rhubarb crumble and custard. So wonderful to have somewhere on the doorstep that does honest vegan and gluten free and GREAT coffee...and the ladies were so lovely. And we bought a couple of goodies too. Love it. Can't wait to go back. Thanks ladies...you could see me every Thursday!!! xxxx

Just had a fabulous afternoon tea at Wirksworth train Station, provided by you. Everything was gorgeous, and the cream was made with magic!!

I went to a pie, peas and Tarot night here for Solstice. I was a bit nervous since I didn't expect to know anyone else there and I felt shy. I didn't need to. As it happened there were a few people I already knew there and everybody else was so friendly and welcoming that I felt comfortable straight away. The food was amazing, and there was unexpected cake!! (Unexpected cake is even better than cake you know about it advance, of course). I came home feeling I had replenished my soul, from the boots up. <3 Thank you so much to all the lovely ladies who worked so hard, for making it such a lovely evening. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I visit VR regularly ever since it first opened. Leise who runs it is lovely and Alex bakes the most delicious cakes. The food is delicious and healthy and Leise is so accommodating and flexible. They have a choice of non-dairy milk which is so refreshing. The hazlenut milk is great in coffee, the almond milk better in tea. I love the chandelier that's so over the top and I love just sitting with tea and cake with my knitting and striking up a conversation with whoever wants to join in. A really fab place.

I arranged with the lovely Leise a celebratory meal for 8 yesterday evening. I left it in her capable hands the planning of the 3 course meal. We weren't disappointed. Fantastic food, wonderful service, some small lovely additions and all for a good price. Thanks for having this lovely cafe in Belper.

Hubby and I are newly vegan and popped in for lunch for the first time today. We had pizza which was delicious and had beautifully fresh ingredients. Really nice coffee with a choice of plant based milks and exceptionally friendly staff. We will be back �

Friendly and very informal. There is much of interest to read on the walls of the cafe (old adverts etc) . I enjoyed my pizza, cake, coffee and squash.

A rustic little place and Leise the owner was lovely!

I had the forage pizza with coleslaw and salad and everything was so tasty! Best pizza I've ever had!

I learned a few cooking tips as well.

Finally got around to visiting today! Well done Leise for creating a unique, and welcoming little space, with gorgeous food. Very satisfying � What I also like about the place is the lovely community vibe, the other customers were also really friendly and chatty. I'll be back!!

Fantastic little find! Forage Pizza was really good, my girlfriend had the Tuscan Salad which was nicely presented and plenty of it. Really quirky place with 70's decor straight out of the Partridge Family (for those of us old enough to remember). Nice friendly staff, nice vibe about the place.

Delicious - best vegan pizza I have EVER had. 10/10 would reccomend.

The owner is so lovely, and even took the time to have a chat with us.

Cakes are also amazing, worth going even just for cake and a cuppa.

A lovely proprietor who extended her opening hours to let us have a cup of delicious tea in a teapot with hot water and almond milk and soya milk in jugs. She is going to cater for my very restricted diet in the cafe on my birthday which shows a caring, thoughtful nature.

There was so much vegan variety on the menu , including several pizzas and my mouth watered as I spied a walnut topped, iced, gluten free cake.

The decor is homely and welcoming . A beautiful chandelier hangs which gives the place a green/new age feel.

Can't wait til we can visit again and I will let you know how the birthday meal goes. Elissa.
