🐰🍇 Just incase you fancied something extra sweet this Easter Sunday that isn’t an Easter Egg! 🐰🍇
Hot cross buns are an Easter staple, but did you know the raisins in them can be deadly to dogs? Grapes, and all their dried forms including raisins, sultanas and currants, can cause kidney failure in our canine friends 🐶.
If you’re worried that your dog has eaten raisins please seek veterinary advice immediately! #EasterSunday

🐰🍫 Happy Easter 🍫🐰
We’d like to wish all our client a lovely Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday weekend.
We hope you’ve been finding all the Easter eggs this morning hidden around your house and garden from the Easter Rabbit and they haven’t melted with all this warm weather.
... Chocolate is delicious for humans, but unfortunately contains ingredients that are poisonous to our furry friends. Be sure to keep your Easter treats out of reach from your pets if you’ve managed to save some!
Please be aware that we will be closed today but will be open again on Bank Holiday Monday with our lines opening at 08.30am. If you need to seek veterinary advice during Easter Sunday please contact our Out of Hours Service VetsNow on 0115 8714905.

It’s nearly Easter 🐰🍫
We hope the Easter Bunny brings our clients plenty of yummy Easter eggs, but we would also like to give a quick reminder of the dangers for our pets during this time of year.
Whilst you’re enjoying sweet treats this Easter don’t forget to keep an eye on your pets! Xylitol found in many Easter eggs is unfortunately toxic to dogs and is a sweetener used in many food products including syrup. Be sure to keep these out of reach from prying paws! For more in...formation on how to prevent xylitol poisoning take a look at our dedicated page below.

😺 Feline Facts 😺
Cats spend the majority of their time asleep so it is really important to make sure your house is equipped with the correct facilities to aid in stress free relaxation and sleep. As you can see Woody here is an ultimate pro at snoozing on the sofa for a large proportion of his day 😻
Cats favour warm places to sleep and many prefer them to have a strong familiar scent of their owners to give a sense of safety and security. However not all cats need the reassur...ance of their owner’s smell when they are resting so they may have several sleeping locations that rotate according to the position of the sun.
An assortment of beds should be provided in warm, sunny, quiet or communal areas. These don’t have to be special beds as the average cat is perfectly content with its owner's bed, chairs or sofas, so you may wish to place some warm bedding on your furniture in your cat’s favourite sleeping spot.
It is important to remember that any cat bedding provided is washable but don’t clean it too frequently, unless heavily soiled, as cats gravitate towards surfaces with a familiar scent.
✅ Radiator hammocks are great for those heat-seeking cats (Siamese and Burmese for example); they hook onto a radiator to enable the cat to gain the maximum benefit from the heat but do remember to keep the radiator on a fairly low setting!
✅ Positioning it appropriately may be the key to its appeal as many cats prefer their bed in a raised position (many cats feel a little vulnerable sleeping on the floor) near a source of heat or an area in sunlight.
If your cat likes its own space then ensure beds are provided in quiet areas away from high traffic areas within your home. Those with three high sides that surround the cat will keep draughts away and give a sense of camouflage to avoid attracting attention (even a cardboard box with some thick bedding would also do the trick).
✅ Your bed is potentially the ultimate delight for your cat - with the warmth of a duvet and a strong smell of you! This provides a tremendous sense of security and enables your cat to sleep deeply in the knowledge that it is safe.
❌ If your bedroom does become an important resource however it can also be a place of conflict if you have a multi-cat household as individuals compete for the best spot. Providing heated pads or raised cat beds in other bedrooms or even allocating space in your own room for such additions may go some way to finding a sensible compromise.

Brilliant vets! Lizzy was great with our poorly kitten Rosie last week after having to take her in as an emergency and now she's back to her usual crazy self! Lovely, helpful staff on reception too! Thank you from us & Rosie!

User

Both my staffies are registered here but recently my female staffie Faith has a mass that Louise looked at in her mouth and requested she have a biopsy. We had the biopsy done and when the results came back as a cancerous tumour we were referred within an hour to a specialist surgeon with an appointment within days. Our little girl has now has the tumour removed and is making an excellent recovery. I feel that if it wasn’t for the staff at Vets for Pets Netherfield we wouldn’t be where we are now. We can’t thank them about for saving our babies life. Thanks to all the staff involved in Faiths care :)

User

A big thank-you to all of the team for looking after my aiba after he was hit by a car.

User

5 star service as always been using this vets from the day they opened staff are always lovely

User

Long waiting times. I took my cat for a health check however was told there would be at least a half hour wait. That is totally unfair for a cat to be caged for. They could have phoned for me to turn up later which i would have understood. Seems they can take me £10 a month (per cat and i have 2) but cant give me the courtesy of a phone call. Lets hope they improve this year.

User

Took my poorly cat here yesterday after having a bang with a car we had to take the very sad decision of having to put him to sleep we was collecting our children from school had to break the sad news they was gutted lots of tears so rang the vet that we would collect next morning! They sad pay up front now I said can we sort in the morning on collection they would not allow! Very rude staff won’t be using again
