About Vinyl Cafe Carlisle

Future is Vinyl @ Vinyl Cafe

A to Z, music is a journey; transporting you to another place through the medium of sound waves.

Vinyl Cafe Carlisle Description

It's about slowing down to appreciate and actually taking the time to really listen.
Music on Vinyl gives the listener a more tangible experience bringing them closer to what the artist originally intended for their sound, which sometimes is lost in the transition from studio to mastering to release in other listening formats.
Vinyl Cafe is a space where listeners can relax and browse in an slightly different, unhurried environment. With an eclectic range of vinyl to suit the eclectic mind.

A big thank you to the gentleman who brought this marvelous collection into the shop to display on our walls. The Beatles are particular favourites being signed for the official Beatles biographer himself 'Hunter Davies' in 1967 by Paul, John, George and Ringo. They are all going up for sale soon so feel free to come along to see them for yourselves before they go to a good home.

Sincere respect going out to Kill Spector, who not only went down a storm Live-in-Store @ Vinyl Cafe Carlisle on Saturday afternoon but kindly donated the proceeds of every sale of their debut EP 'Symbols' and auctioned an original piece artwork to boot, all proceeds going to Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland. http://hospiceathome.co.uk/ https://en-gb.facebook.com/KillSpectorCar lisle/

A big thankyou to Kill Spector who played a blinder on Saturday afternoon, keeping it deep down, heavy and swampy! Semi-acoustic no less for that! Thanks to all of you for coming down and enjoying a cracking set.'Symbols' EP available now. https://killspector.bandcamp.com/releases

A necessity in making music is to believe in what you do, 'Kill Spector' have that belief in bucket loads! We will be celebrating this fact Live-In-Store this Saturday, July 21st from 5pm where the band will be performing live and signing copies of their acclaimed debut EP 'Symbols'. Here approvingly displayed by Ginger Wildheart with Adam Robson from Kill Spector. Ltd. edition CD available in-store or via https://killspector.bandcamp.com/releases . An exclusive piece of artwork created and signed by the man himself Phil Exile, will be auctioned, with all proceeds of the sale being donated to Carlisle and North Lakeland Hospice at Home teams. www.hospiceathome.co.uk

"Anamnesis" is the 4th Studio Album by acclaimed multi instrumentalist Ethan Johns. Recorded with his band The Black Eyed Dogs, the album is released as a double set on CD and Vinyl on Ethan's own Three Crows Records label on the 10th August 2018.
Anamnesis is different for another reason too. The album will only be available as a physical release, taking a stand against streaming culture and the disservice it does to artists who are trying to make living from their music. Th...e album begins, like many things do, with The Invitation, a swirling Hawkwind-esque instrumental and ends with The Wedding, skipping through a world of magic and mystery in-between.
'ANAMNESIS' AVAILABLE FROM 10TH AUGUST 2018. LIVE-IN-STORE 19TH AUGUST WITH MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW. https://ethanjohns.com/

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will be closing at 2.30pm Saturday 7.7.18, nerves are often calmed with the wonderful sound of vinyl as shown here with the 1970 England World Cup team, still nervous though! Enjoy if you can!....

It's always so refreshing and inspiring when a locally based artist perform their new original songs live in-store, in public, for the first time. Thankyou to Morris Ford for opening up the window space nicely before the Live In-store signing from Ginger Wildheart. https://morrisford.bandcamp.com https://facebook.com/MorrisFordMusic/

The Vinyl Cafe is just want Carlisle needs, (or maybe more what I need)! It's such a beautiful place, the staff are so friendly and await to engage their enthusiasm for music with their customers. Brilliant selection of new music classics and are able to give brilliant recommendations. Walked away with 4 new records and they will be the first of many to be purchased in this little treasure cave. Perfect!

User

Thanks so much for having Layla in stock in the original sleeve not a picture disc - I wasn't buying any vinyl until I could buy this one.

Peter Tyson should pay you some commission as I now have a turntable to set up tomorrow.

Great shop, just what I needed.

Take care.

Sipping coffee listen to vinyl can't beat it. Also loving the #beefpies

Popped in to the store today after reading the article about it's recent opening in the Cumberland News and have to admit i got pretty excited about Carlisle having this new haven - i wasn't disappointed whatsoever!! Like all new businesses they take time to develop and build a strong regular following, uniqueness and identity but i found with James approach and vision today, he will do very well indeed. I did purchase a cheeky wee ELO plastic thing with a groove in it and i am so looking forward to dropping the needle in there to hear the Lynne boy crank up the Gibson and blast out some of those superb vocals. See you soon Vinyl Cafe for another browse, Spooky Tooth discussion and perhaps a coffee next time - Carlisle roasted coffee beans no less!

User

Lovely to finally pop in. Picked up a Godspeed LP I'd missed out on on release, a Brian Eno cassette and had a good friendly natter with the owner. Keep up the good work!

Great day on Saturday as I experienced going to the Vinyl Cafe everything that is good about a local business. Great selection of vinyl knowledgeable staff, music shop supporting local bands in allowing them to play and selling their music. Hot chocolate was amazing and it just had a great atmosphere that you don't get from national stores or buying music online. Just one request when are you doing more music sessions as it would be a great venue for night time gigs.

User
