Updated my website today with our latest completed project. We collaborated with Square Balloon - Design & Web on this one. So big thanks to them as well for all their hard work.

There's an awful lot of content encouraging video content as the new big thing for promoting your small business on social media.
I'm less than convinced. Unless your presentation is good I think it can be a negative.I see an awful lot of videos full of 'ums' and 'aahs' and rambling about what they're going to say and then repeating it all again when they actually get on with it. I get bored and stop watching.

After being freelance since 1996 I like to think I've got quite good at evaluating fairly early on if we're a good fit. And most have been.
I recently had a client who came back and offered to pay me more for a job done thoroughly (2 days rather than one). I was revisiting some development work from about 8 years ago and I offered to meet them half way as I did need t...o spend some time re-winding and working out what I'd done originally. They immediately offered to pay for all my time.
At the other end of the spectrum was the client who regularly ate up time and benefited from a lot of free advice that wasn't really within my remit. After several years of going the extra mile on many occasions, they suddenly stopped replying to emails that were full of more free advice and got someone else to implement my recommendations. I only found out via the new provider.
