Special Sergeant Kevin Taylor is the Chief Pilot of the Lincolnshire Police Drone Team
Kevin holds PPL s A and H, and has over 1100 hours on flexwing, fixed wing and helicopters, including complex and tailwheel ratings, as well as a builder of LAA aircraft.
Lincolnshire Police started Drone Operations in Sept 2017 and were the first Police Force in the UK to save a life using a drone. In the first year the drone was deployed to over 300 incidents. This presentation will sho...w a selection of live video footage from a vast array of incidents, showing the drone and camera technology in use and explain how drones have become a critical tool in modern day policing of vast rural counties like Lincolnshire.
Kevin will explain how the team focus on the safe operations of drones and how manned and unmanned aircraft can collaborate in order to safely share the same airspace.
There will be a Question and Answer session and if appropriate a flight demonstration for those interested in the drone and it’s night time thermal Imagining capability.

The Honda Owners Club who visited us today
The weather's looking promising for tomorrow. Don't forget the Lancaster is coming through at 14.40, before the service.
The sun is shining on the patio here at Wickenby, the perfect place to sit and eat one of our all day breakfasts or coffee and cake while watching the planes take off and land. Hope to see you later.
Still a few places left for tomorrow night
We are very sorry but due to a lack of custom on Wednesday evenings we will no longer be open for bike nights
We all had a great day even though it wasn't the best of weather , whilst we were on our flying lesson one of the staff took our 3 girls into the hanger & let them have there photo taken in the static aircraft which they loved , as well as wearing the pilots headphones , very friendly & helpful staff in the cafe with very reasonable priced food & drinks . I would recommend anyone to go to WICKENBY AERODROME .
Top quality staff and food, always welcomed with a smile, often divert there for a great breakfast
Today I visited this lovely place tucked away in rural Lincolnshire , I had been needing a place to meet family half way where we could get food and to have an informal relaxed Time, we were welcomed with open arms and made to feel so welcome, the lady who organised our food and tables etc Anne was very helpful and her volunteer staff Lesley Blisset most welcoming even her own family came to help out, we had dogs and young people with us not of which phased them, the food was excellent tea and coffee on tap and a very interesting museum with an active airfield the day could not be bettered. A very warm welcome on a cold bright January day.
Thank you for a great day with Kirton Lindsey Beavers today. Izaak had a lovely time and loved going upside down!!
Small, friendly accessible museum. We researched my uncle, a tail gunner in a Lancaster who flew from Wickenby to Berlin but didn't return. Browsed for a long time, absorbing his way of life. Nice cafe run by a very helpful volunteer who guided us on where else we could visit in the area, which we did, very successfully. Visit if you can!
There's a touching monument at the entrance to the airfield. You should stop as you turn in.
On an impromptu motorbike ride we found this gem of a Cafe cum Museum plus the chance to have a ride in a plane (the latter has to be booked and paid for) ....what fault can you find in that. We didn't eat, but was assured by a very helpful lady that the food was good and plenty on the menu to choose. We did have a welcome cuppa and sat outside watching the aerobatics of a small single prop plane. The museum is also worth a longer look than we gave it, lots of interesting memorabilia. Worth a repeat visit anytime especially if one has connections to RAF past and present. Also a very good bike ride thrown in.
Nice airfield, very friendly, cheap cafe and friendly staff, recommend it to anyone
Great place. The museum is small but tells an important story of those who did sterling service and some who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Moving and poignant. The cafe produces great fare from a small kitchen with great service.
Great place, food, tea, scenery! Parking for bikes
Great place for tea and a snack .
Interesting museum in the watchtower.
Also airplane trips , and you can learn to fly .
Great museum and cafe good value while being able to watch air planes coming and going staff were fantastic
Great food and atmosphere enjoy flying in here for food and drink which is also the place I did my flight training, can highly recommend ✈️
Great coffee and very nice place. Cake was lovely too! Good for a bike night stop.
Great cafe .. well cooked food .. service with a smile ... and you get to watch airplanes and helicopters land and take off .. it don't get much better
Excellent.
Excellent food and service as per normal. Will be back for more.
A well hidden secret. Great little cafe and museum. Thoroughly recommended. Cyclists very welcome
Very good service and a friendly waitress very helpful and good food done fresh, not kept hot,yes I will be calling again very soon
I spent an enjoyable couple of hours here on the 12th May 2018, during the Auster Group flyin. As an enthusiast, rather than a pilot, its nice to be welcomed and shown around the Vintage Skunk Works hangar. I live reasonably locally, in Louth, and always enjoy a vist to Wickenby, espedially when events are happening. The cafe serves excellent food at very affordable prices, and the sausage bap hit the spot! :) A nice airfield, run by nice knowledgable people.
