🤩 This weeks Sunday Success Story goes to Emma Cone from Xercise4Less Hull who has lost an amazing 3 stone 7 pounds! 🤩
Emma tells us her story! 👇
Emma was diagnosed with underactive thyroid last August 2017 after gaining 4 and a half stone over 16 months. After undertaking her medication, she waited for it to settle into her system before she joined up to Xercise4Less Hull in January 2018. At this point Emma was weighing in at 14 stone and 4 pounds.
... Emma started off just focusing on cardio training, using mainly the treadmills and bikes. After a few weeks Emma started training with a friend who focused mainly on weight-training, and she really started to enjoy it.
Not long after the 15/15/15 class came out and Emma started participating in them weekly, alongside the weight training and the odd body pump class. She ended up going to the gym twice a week on 4 days a week from then on.
Emma did not follow a diet but was just monitoring her portion sizes and making healthy, home cooked meals. But she never deprived herself from the odd treat too.
Emma quotes “It was seeing my holiday pictures last year that really upset me and hated how I felt in my clothes etc whilst we were on holiday and I didn't want to feel like that when I went away to get married at the end of July as I wanted to feel good in my bikinis and clothes (really wanted to get back into some of my old smaller sized holiday clothes too). So I worked hard, gained confidence, found a love for the gym and weight training and got to where I'd hoped I'd be going, from a size 16 to a size 12 even getting in the odd 10.
I say to those who are wishing to achieve a similar transformation is that you need to have the mind set to want to change things and just go for it. If you’re not fully into it you won't get the goals you want to achieve.”
Emma now weighs 10 stone 11 pounds, meaning she has lost an amazing 3 stone 7 pounds, Emma is now working towards her next goal of wanting to tone more of her body up, build on the muscle, and increase the definition that has already started to show. Furthermore she intends to be even heathier and happier than she is now with how she looks!

🤩 This weeks Transformation Tuesday goes to Roy Day from Xercise4Less Wigan who lost an amazing 1 stone 10 pounds, with help from the 8 week body transformation camp! 🤩
Roy tells us his story 👇
Roy started his fitness journey in August 2017 when he weighed 15 stone and 5 pounds. He started his fitness journey after being called ‘fat’ by his son which hit him personally and enforced him, to start his journey for not only himself but to show a good example for his 2 sons.
... Roy struggled when having to put the effort in by himself to attend the gym and get fit, so therefore he decided to sign up to Xercise4Less Wigan and our 8 week body transformation camp. Roy quotes ‘It really helps when you have a good personal trainer, like Mike Chatziminas, who really does put together some great sessions.’ Alongside attending the 8 week transformation camp 3 times a week, Roy also participated in other classes that take place at Xercise4Less such as Core4Fiit.
Mike changed his diet by eating smaller portions and adding more vegetables which he quotes ‘This many vegetables was not seen on my dinner plate unless on a Sunday roast!!’ He also quotes ‘Alcohol was a stumbling block but I realised that everything in moderation does really work!’
Mikes recommendation to others who are trying to lose weight would be to ‘try the classes as they push you are your body way more than ever trying to motivate yourself. The people I have met over the last 2 camps are absolutely brilliant as there is no snobs looking down at you, we are all there for the same reason.
Based on my pictures I haven't lost as much weight as I expected but what I did get was to reduce my waist line dramatically.’
Roy now weighs 13 stone 9 pounds which means he has lost a total of 1 stone and 10 pounds.

When this gym first opened I loved it, there was a huge variety of classes with amazing freelance instructors doing what they love and a great vibe to the place.

How things changed!

With no notice or explanation at all, the freelance instructors found they no longer had classes, and the timetable has been severely cut back.

When concerns and comments have been raised they are either deleted or ignored by the management, and if you are lucky enough to get a reply it’s to remind us that this is a budget gym what do you expect for £10 a month?

They continue to advertise classes that they no longer provide to new gym members, getting them to sign up with the promise of a wide variety of classes

There’s a huge turn over of staff, no one seems to stay for long and the over all feel of the place isn’t what it was

I’ve been left severely disappointed with the gym as a whole

Went Saturday 3rd March around 5.30pm with a friend.. wanted a free trial day but the receptionist was incredibly rude and said I couldn't because no PT available to give me an induction but happily took £6 off me so I could train(what's the difference). firstly what gym let's anyone enter without a proper safety induction, secondly why isn't there a PT on duty in an open gym?? Safe to say I joined pace fitness centre on Chesterfield road... better staff, equipment and all round better gym �

No communication sent 3 emails and rang twice they promised to ring back and nothing over charging me because I wasn’t able to change my direct debit and was a day late (£25) charge which is ridiculous will never join again I’m now getting concerned that when I come to cancel they will ignore that too the app is rubbish there’s nothing on about your membership number or payments doesn’t give you option to change anything it’s a vicious trap

I’ve had real problems with this gym and be warned if you want to cancel membership. Spoke to a lady on reception in April who said we (self and husband) joined May 17 and from

April this year just cancel direct debit that was fine. I checked if she was sure and she said yes. Left it till end of May and cancelled direct debits and as a courtesy emailed the gym to tell them this. Immediate return phone call from a member of staff saying I could not do this and needed to complete cancellation form. Also had cancelled early as we hadn’t started paying until July when gym opened. Apologised for that and explained the information I had been given. She apologised and said she would cancel our membership immediately and send e-mail to confirm this so we didn’t have to do any paperwork as problem was caused by the gym initially. This hasn’t been received. We were then told we had to resurrect our direct debits with a company they use for this who were pretty good but told us we had to call back in June. Today received text threatening debt collectors !!! Phoned this company and explained the above but they weren’t interested and tried to charge me £45 to settle “debt”. Again contacted direct debit company who say they’ve reinstated direct debit and not charged us!! All very stressful mainly due to receiving incorrect information. Can’t wait to leave!!!
