Nottingham Yates is really good first time gng and enjoyed it with my partner as it was a birthday meal for me and my fella it was sat but it’s somewhere completely different so would recommend people to come here and we are defo gng bk there it’s better thn the one in Leicester thy now u feel welcome and good atmosphere nice and quiet not even busy

Got to admit Saturday nights are amazing. Always end up at yates as the dj adi wright just makes the place. Never fails to have me in stitches hes so polite well mannered funny and always plays what you ask for. He's always got a smile on his face and gets everyone on there feet. He plays a mix of everything so it dont get borring and nothing repeated. Deffo the type of dj you need to keep the place alive. Massive high five to him :) x

2nd time we have been here for a meal & again could not fault it ,had the Sunday lunch roast beef was lovely & only 6.45 with a drink !!

We had a great time whilst in Nottingham, good cheap pub grub including a pint, helpful bar staff giving us tips on where to go..We even went back on the night time...blues brothers then a good variety of music by the dj

Really cool bar with quick service and some amazing grub, can be very busy at weekends but in a great place being in the main square.

Friendly comfortable and great music . Had a nice atmosphere with lovely period decor. Enjoyed the experience , best one we have visited in the midlands x

Was in for lunch yesterday with my husband I am gluten free and enjoyed the meal and service was good we will be back

No flags nothing for St. George's day why if we was green a different story

Little disappointed that tables were dirty seats were all ripped and the whole place looked like it needed a really good clean ! Saying that the cocktails as ever were great

Great building well set out just tuck to long to get served but would go try again maybe new staff last night we all have to start somewhere

Good reasonable prices but food mediocre but excellent customer service landlady went out of her way especially to get me a white loaf to do me white toast has I said I didn't like oatmeal bread though that was outstanding. Pub but run down wants update and toilets were smelly dirty but staff nice and I did mention toilet and girl took it on board only reason I give it 3 because of these negative point once these improved be a straight 5 but outstanding customer service by the landlady a 5 for her thank you!!

We had the Philly Steak subs yesterday lunch time. The steak was really tough and not much of it tasted burnt, not charred!! The chips were ok. When the guy came to clear the plates and he asked if everything was OK we did tell him and he was very apologetic and offered us free drinks, which was nice but it doesn't make up for a disappointing meal. We have been before and food was alright, but will not go back again.

Took ages to be served. Loads of people waiting with 2 bar staff. Ordered a bottle of wine and was told they don't allow glass so it had to be poured into a jug. Lovely plastic dirty wine glasses too!!

Visited Yates today for a breakfast and ordered a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Muffin along with some Hash Browns. Order came out and someone with me had to send hers back as it was charcoled on one side. I then had to send mine back because a sausage one instead of bacon.



I had to send the cup back because it was dirty and got told it was because tea had stained on the cup.



Then I had to send the Hash Browns back because they had been fried in the Onion Ring Fat. With me not being able to eat onion I sent these back only to be informed that Hash Browns contain onion. He then returned having seen my Staff badge for Toby Carvery and said they contain onion powder but having looked at the Items on the suppliers website it doesn't contain such item.



The service was shoddy and the managers attitude wasn't great either. The reaction when I informed them that they were breaking allergen laws was a picture. Its put me off returning for breakfast again.

Shit, door staff rude and refused entry to a soba male wearing a vest but happily let a scruffy gurning Male, clearly high as a kite through the door. Get your priorities right then reevaluate your door policies.

Please note date time and person that served us called tony. We never changed our order once. The way you are repsonding to our opinion is unprofessional and patronising. You are making us out that we lied but clearly by the fact on our receipt TONY servied us we was there and told our opinion. We do however felt the bulidind is nice.( please see receipt in dylan river comments)

Myself and my family came in yesterday for a quick drink after a morning/afternoon of shopping as we were visiting my brother who's a student at Nottingham University.

We were told by your bar staff that we couldn't have an alcoholic drink due to having a 3 year old with us and because we weren't buying food there and then.

1. The 3 year old was asleep and we only wanted a quick drink in peace as it was a day out.

2. We've been in before and haven't had this issue - we visit quite regularly.

3. Your staff were quite rude and this wasn't appreciated.

We did wonder why your pub was so quiet when we walked in and now we know why, we will not be returning and would not recommend you.

Crap never even served as only 3 staff on and the yong lady behind the bar didn't know how to make someone a cocktail, would have thought staff fully trained before put behind the bar on a Saturday night especially with next to no other staff on ��

Bouncers throwing people about, one lady ended up in hospital with serve injuries. Poor service started serving other while we waited for our drink to be poured

Awful service. Myself and 3 other ladies were at the small bar on the upper level waiting to be served. There were 2 staff serving. We was waiting to be served and at this point we had been there 10 minutes and now there was no one else at the bar other than me and these 3 ladies then a man came to the bar and was instantly served straight away and then after him another man and his 2 friends came to the bar and served straight away also. They then served the lady that was before me. So I thought great where finally being served. Nope... another man came to the bar and was served. In total it took us 4 ladies to be served in 20-25 mins whereas the men who approached the bar was served straight away. And then I spoke to the manager he said sorry it must of been a little busy. When we finally received our food the fish was way over cooked where the batter was rock hard and the fish had dried up inside. I didn’t dare complain because the lack of interest from your manager previously.

Awful place,Don't know what happened but they are rude,none of the staff smile or ask how your meal is..made a complaint to the manager who looked homeless who told us to go eat else where.

Summer holidays and very understaffed! Will never go back!!
