A record 2.9 million children from working families in the UK are living in poverty after housing costs have been paid. At Nottinghamshire YMCA, we believe that every child should be given an equal opportunity to develop their interests and fulfil their potential.
... Through our charity’s Scholarships scheme, we are proud to offer support for families who are unable pay the full price. But we can only do this with your donations. A donation of just £30 can get a child full access to a week at Camp Williams, giving them access to a huge range of sports and arts activities, positive role models, new friends, and experiences they will treasure.
We are committed to increasing children’s participation in healthy activity across the whole of Nottinghamshire. No child should be turned away from life-building opportunities. Please consider donating to our Scholarship scheme; provide a child with life-changing opportunities this year.

Camp Williams is all about making friends and learning new skills together in a fun, positive environment.

Through our charity’s Scholarships scheme, we are proud to offer support for families who are unable pay full price as we are committed to increasing children’s participation in healthy activity across the whole of Nottinghamshire.
Scholarship places are for children who receive free school meals and to support families who might not be able to cover the whole cost of purchasing a place at YMCA day camps.

🏀🏏 Book now for the May half-term holidays! 🎨🎼
At Camp Williams, all campers (aged 4 – 15 years old) will get to take part in a variety of exciting group activities over the course of a week, including:
- Indoor and outdoor sports ... - Arts and crafts - Invasion games (capture the flag and more) - Camp rallies - Camp Fire Friday performance - ....and loads more!
Plus, 8-15 year olds on our full week programme can also take part in our fun and engaging Skill Clinics. Campers choose three Skill Clinics when they arrive on their first day at Camp Williams (allocated on a first-come basis). So far we have the following Skill Clinics confirmed:
- Climbing - Basketball - Crafts - Skateboarding - Archery - Stay tuned for more!
Our experienced leaders create a safe environment for developing skills, friendships and confidence.
Camp Williams provides children and young people with opportunities to form positive values and to learn through positive, engaging, and interactive experiences. Campers will receive awards and certificates for demonstrating the four core values of the charity – caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Our belief is that young people with access to these camps and our role model Camp Leaders will make healthier choices as they grow into adults. The programme is action packed, adventure driven and experience focused, and really engages with young people in a way they might not experience anywhere else.
