Time to meet the team... Starting off with beautiful Lisa, who has been teaching with YogaBellies Leicester for just over 2 years now! Lisa teaches in Desford, Groby and Wigston and deserves a huge shoutout this week for teaching 11 classes on her own!
Hi, I'm Lisa and I live in Leicester with my husband Tom and (nearly) 3 year old son Theo. I started attending Yogabellies for Pregnancy classes with Jessica when I was pregnant with Theo in 2016. Having practiced yoga on and ...off for many years prior to falling pregnant, I knew that I wanted to attend regular classes during my pregnancy to maintain my fitness but also to switch off from my corporate day job.
I was very quickly drawn into Jessica's way of teaching, which made me feel at ease in the class but I also went home each week with an abundance of knowledge about pregnancy, birth and impending motherhood. It wasn't until I had given birth to my son that I realised how much of an impact the Yogabellies classes had on my birthing experience and was excited about starting back with my new side kick in Yogabellies for Mum and Baby classes.
After such an incredible experience attending Jessica's Yogabellies classes, it felt natural for me to train as a teacher in 2017 and join the Yogabellies Leicester team! I have now been teaching for two years and am privileged to teach Yogabellies for Pregnancy, Mum and Baby, Baby Massage and Yogabelles for Women. I have so much passion for each class and one of my favourite things about teaching is seeing the friendships that are formed within the classes. Outside of Yogabellies I am fortunate to be able to spend lots of time with with son who I regularly like to teach new postures. I also love cooking, travelling, fashion, attending yoga and body balance classes and the occasional glass of gin with my friends!
Yogabellies has completely transformed my life and it is an honour to be part of such an amazing community 💕

Freshly baked brownies for this mornings YogaBellies for Mum & Baby class. Is there anything better than a hot cup of tea, cake and a chat at the end of class?
We’re ALWAYS up for baby cuddles so you can drink your tea while it’s still warm too ☕️

It’s the little details that matter; essential oils diffusing, lavender filled eye masks, cushions, blankets, candles and soft music all help to create a beautiful soothing environment for your practice - leave all other thoughts behind and join us on the mat

Prepping some new starter bags for tonight’s YogaBellies for Pregnancy class and thinking about the little community we’re building here in Leicester.
At YogaBellies we’re more than just a yoga class (although we’re pretty good at that too 😉) but we’re about support, encouragement and spreading positivity! I’m honoured to be able to recommend all these lovely local businesses and delighted that we have some of the amazing midwives from the home birth team joining us at class this evening.
See you on the mat mamas 💕

Really enjoyed the classes , Jessica is lovely :) unfortunately I didn't get to finish the lessons as my baby girl came quite early , but Jessica has been very supportive and I am going to join in with the baby classes when she is ready :D

Just finished 11 weeks worth of classes with Jess & have found them so relaxing and helpful with all the aches & pains common in pregnancy. I looked forward to going every week & left feeling better every time. Every class was different & Jess is great at what she does. Also found the weekly emails from Yogabellies very useful! Thank you

It was my last yoga class this evening before bump arrives. I've thoroughly enjoyed it & found the class has really helped me feel more prepared for Labour. Thanks to Jess for being such a lovely instructor.

User

I started yoga bellies when I was 26 weeks pregnant and it really helped me to relax and deal with the struggles of pregnancy as I got further along, unfortunately I didn't finish the course as my baby was born earlier than expected but the techniques I learnt helped me cope with a difficult labour and birth and I don't think I would have coped without the breathing techniques and words of encouragement from Jess given at every session. Would recommend for all pregnant ladies xxx

I started Yogabellies when I was 20 weeks pregnant and I honestly think it got me through my pregnancy and labour. Jess is the most calming, positive person and she runs the classes in a really supportive friendly way - it's more like a support group than an exercise class! I found the stretches easy to do and really built up my core strength ready for the birth - but the best thing was the breathing techniques which helped me get through labour with minimal pain relief! Cannot recommend this class enough - I also did the YogaBabies class once my little one was born, she loved it and we use the stretches with her all the time to calm her down or help with wind etc. Book yourself in as soon as you are pregnant, it's the best money you will ever spend on yourself! I absolutely loved it xx

User

I just want to say how amazing Jessica was at the Syston yoga sessions. I found the classes incredibly helpful both during pregnancy and in labour. I will definitely be returning for the baby yoga classes in due course. Thank you Jessica!

I finished pregnancy yoga end of February. I loved each of the lessons, the breathing techniques and meeting new mum's to be.

The techniques helped during labour and I kept calm throughout the pain.

User

I did pregnancy yoga with Lisa & found it so relaxing, positive & a special time to focus on myself & baby. I wanted Lisa to know our baby girl Thea was born early hours of Saturday & she's wonderful. I couldn't go to St Mary's & had to be monitored, but I did use the cold flannels & natural Insense to be as Incontrol of the labour as I could. Thea came within about 4.5hours & I didn't need stitches, even though I had to go to theatre after to get my placenta removed!! I think the golden thread breath & staying calm & positive really helped. I look forward to joining mum & baby group when we can xx
