This is a lovely little case study.
After numerous visits to New Market for lameness and getting no answers and maxing out the insurance, I was called in October to do an iridology assessment on the lovely shocks to see if I could see anything that may assist with finding the lameness issue. Shocks was stood in her stable on arrival, and instantly I noticed she was pointing her front fore, horses can do this if they have a liver issue. With this in mind I decided to look at... the right eye first and sure enough there was a large mark in the area of the eye that shows the liver. On examination, the area where the liver sits, just under your knee roll on the saddle, she was tender to touch. This would easily be the cause of the intermitent lameness, sound in the field but lame after riding, ever tried running with stitch? After further assessment of the rest of the eye and her left eye, there was noticeable weakness around her ovaries which was causing her to be uncomfortable. 6 months on after being on the corrective herbs that I make up for her each month she is back being ridden and feeling much happier and galloping around the fields. Nothing makes me happier than being able to make a difference to an animals well being. Iridology does not replace the expertise of your vet, but as a complementary medicine, it may be able to assist when all seems lost. Xx
