Activate 2018 has come to an end and it has been a fantastic three weeks, with 370 children enjoying beautiful weather and the lovely grounds of Town Close. In the prep children took part in water games and street surfing today, whilst in the pre-prep the boys and girls had their Knock Out Entertainment party this afternoon. As well as this, there were plenty of other activities going on, including football, cricket, swimming and arts and crafts. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting Activate again this year. The team is very much looking forward to welcoming your children back for Activate 2019.

Despite the wet weather today, children kept busy with lots of indoor activities. For the pre-prep this included ball games in the sports hall, team games in the Read Hall, cooking flapjacks and lots of amazing arts and craft/construction and swimming too! The bravest of the pre-prep took part in water games and they had lots of fun! In the prep, children visited Quasar, created super Graffiti Art designs with Mik Richardson, made chocolate nests and did plenty of sports and art and craft activities.

Our final theme day of 2018 came with many colourful costumes of our Feathered Friends in the morning parade!Unfortunately, Broadwing Bird Control did not show up and I do not have any explanation for this at the moment. Apologies to the children who were looking forward to seeing the birds of prey. Children enjoyed lots of activities today including more swimming, arts and craft, design technology, scavenger hunts, varied sports and trampolining! Tuesday has been lots of fun, if a little on the hot side! The children in pre-prep have been baking cookies, doing feathered friends clay animation, swimming, team games, art and craft activities and much more! In the prep the juniors went to Quasar to battle it out with laser guns this morning. Children have also been baking cookies and taking part in a Bug Hotel activity. As usual sports such as Dodgeball and Cricket were popular , whilst others chose to relax playing board games. We are looking forward to our Theme Day Fancy Dress Parade tomorrow, as well as a visit from Broadwing Birds! Watch out for a second post with even more great photos!

Week 3 of Activate has started really well, with children enjoying lots of varied activities, including a Circus Skills Workshop by Knock Out Entertainment. Children in the prep and pre-prep balanced feathers, juggled scarves and learnt how to spin plates. In addition, children in the prep walked on stilts! Nail Art was a particular favourite in the prep and arts and crafts in the pre-prep went down well! All of the children were given the opportunity to bake bread and many of the creations looked delicious! So many great photos today that we have had to put them in two posts!
Week 2 at Activate has been a great success with over 140 children attending. Today the children in pre-prep had a wonderful party with Magic Charlie, whilst the prep took part in water games in the sunshine! This morning there was also Street Surfing on offer for the prep, courtesy of Mr Woods! After lunch we had lollipops on the lawn, whilst watching a group leader challenge relay! Thank you for supporting Activate this week and we look forward to welcoming your children back next week or next year!
Today was full of fun and sun with lots of activities going on. This morning senior children in the prep visited Quasar. We were also delighted to welcome Mik Richardson (Graffiti Artist) who was working with the children all day on their varied creations! The pre-prep loved their water games and especially soaking the staff! As well as this, there was lots of cooking, arts and crafts and sport to enjoy!
Water games for the prep tomorrow so please remember a change of clothes and old trainers, plimsolls or wet shoes!

What a wonderful Wednesday we had! Children enjoyed a lively theme day fancy dress parade and the costumes were superb! There were plenty of other activities going on and baking magical cookies (pre-prep tomorrow!) and making clay hedgehogs were very popular in the prep department! In the pre-prep, children enjoyed having their faces painted and finally being able to enjoy the bouncy castles!
Water games for the pre-prep tomorrow afternoon, so please remember your water guns, towels, swimming costume and a change of clothes! Also, due to the large number of wasps around, if you have suitable shoes to wear in the water games, please send them in!

The day started with a bang but the sun soon came out and the children were able to play outside and enjoy the bouncy castles too! Today saw the juniors in prep visit Quasar, whilst the pre-prep had a super pottery workshop. This afternoon, Mad Science visited Activate and the children made slime and wore special glasses to see the full colours of the rainbows in an explosion of fire!
Don't forget that it's theme day tomorrow and we are looking forward to some Fantastical costume creations!

The pre-prep were treated to a ballon origami workshop and prep children to a magic workshop! As well as this there was bread making, arts and crafts, swimming and lots more!
