Two surprise Afternoon Teas to prepare for this weekend

A rare thing happened this morning when my own baker delivered my bread for my afternoon teas. This meant that all three brothers where together for at least 15 minutes , last time this happened as 3.1/2 years ago, so I had to capture the moment rather than the bread !

At the request of my goddaughter I took some of my freshly baked fruit scones to her hen garden party , she said they were her favourite 😉 x

Thanks Wendy for the lovely 1940’s tea set from your aunt . I’m hoping I don’t drop one , but it’s a shame not to use them for its purpose ! X

Yesterday I meet up with my friends at this beautiful warm and cozy tea cottage and WOW it was so gorgeous! This was my 1st time doing afternoon teas and I must say it was a pleasure. The food was amazing especially the cheese straws (all homemade) the room was so calming and we just all sat round chatting, eating, drinking tea/coffee. Our hostess was so lovely and so so friendly which gives this place a personal touch. You feel human and not a number on a table!! I WOULD truly recommend taking family and friends here. I will certainly be going back!! Oh and added bonus you can buy lots of excellent ideas for your home. I brought a Christmas tree decoration to remind me of my 1st visit to the rose cottage. 😊 thank you for making our pre Xmas teas special. X

Wow! What a treat.

After a lovely walk along the river Stour working up an appetite and enjoying the beautiful countryside we arrived at Rose Cottage for our afternoon tea.

We were greeted with a smile from our host Libby and shown to the beautiful dining room. The table was layed out ready with very quintessentially English crockery and looked amazing.

The feast was then brought to the table. 3 tiers of cakes, scones and sandwiches and a plate of hot sausage rolls and warm cheese straws.

Delicious sandwiches with various fillings on freshly baked bread. All made with local produce. Eggs laid on site by the friendly hens in the garden.

The sausage rolls and cheese straws are so good. In fact my mother in law stated the cheese straws are 'To die for'. They are really very good.

A great selection of sweet treats. Lemon drizzle cake, Rocky road, mini Victoria sponge with apricot jam. Not forgetting a light and tasty fruit scone which you can fill with jam and clotted cream.

We were absolutely stuffed at the end..but very happy.

Such a lovely home and experience. Highly recommend a visit. If you can also tie it in with a walk around the local area.

What an absolutely superb way to spend the afternoon. I could have stayed all day. Please take the time to 'take tea' at Rose Cottage. A real home from home. Open fire, beautiful china, loads of home made/prepared goodies and the warmest welcome and hospitality. There's even Reg, the friendliest border collie, to warm your feet and heart. Just perfect for any celebration. Today was for my auntie's 93rd birthday. It's been special. Thanks Libby.

What a beautiful afternoon we had at Rose Cottage for a birthday afternoon tea �� We were able to sit out in the gorgeous garden & were given More than enough to eat and drink! Libby is such a lovely host & her furry assistant Reggie is gorgeous �

We went for a birthday treat & it was a treat! Lovely sausage rolls & cheese straws like you have never seen before to light, light scones & moist yummy cakes. Oh, yes, there were scummy sandwiches too. I had hot chocolate to drink. I had a second to check the first was not a fluke - it wasn't!

Today visited "Rose Cottage" for the most amazing cream tea !. The cottage was beautiful. The food was fabulous and the host brilliant !. The whole experience was 1st class Thank you x

Leaden skies and falling rain couldn't dampen the spirits of our party's visit to Rose Cottage today. Libby's hosting is so friendly and welcoming and the log fire burning gave a a special autumn feel to our visit. The sandwiches, cheese straws,sausage rolls, and cakes were exquisite and nothing is too much trouble for Libby, even for the most demanding guests such as us!! We'll be back.�

It was our first time at Rose Cottage and it did not disappoint! Amazing, home cooked and freshly prepared food. Libby was the perfect hostess and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend this for the perfect intimate afternoon tea experience �

Started with a wonderful warm welcome from the lovely Libby.The Afternoon Tea was without a doubt the best we have had.Everything prepared fresh and tasted scrummy! with an endless supply of tea and coffee.We were certainly very well looked after and couldnt of asked for anything more!

We have already booked up again along with two other friends for Christmas and we cant wait!!

Had afternoon tea today for my sisters birthday. It was one of the best I've had. Libby is so friendly and attentive. Food is amazing. I thought the cheese straws were out of this world. Fantastic experience will be going again!

A beautiful day, a wonderful setting in the garden. The food all prepared fresh for each party and baked by Libby, The cheese straws, saugage rolls, the scones and the excellent individual cakes, plus the sandwiches and the ever filled tea pot, were Absolutely Excellent.
