Movement is about having FUN! HereвАЩs some of my lovely ladies that attend my Soca Fitness class every Tuesday. They get to dance to Soca (Caribbean music) and get their sweat on in the dark with some disco lights! What more could you want from your workout?! рЯ§ЈрЯПљвАНвЩАпЄП

Workout because you love your body, not because you hate it. рЯТЬ
One thing I hate is seeing young girls and women in the gym doing a workout they hate, usually itвАЩs part of a strict programme that claims to вАШget you skinnyвАЩ within 12 weeks, and we have been sucked in by the numerous before and after photos! 9 times out of 10 we donвАЩt stick to these programme 1) because they are boring to do alone 2) they include exercises that we donвАЩt actually enjoy and 3) thereвАЩs no flexibility. Ladies, ENJOY what you do. This is far more important to sustaining your activity. Vary your workouts, get a workout buddy, try a sport, take up dancing, listen to your favourite music, workout outside in the sunshine (although this is limited to us Brits!)... Whatever it is make sure you have a smile on your face when you do it! вШЇпЄП

I was always a very fit person. Before I had a child I was a total a gym bunny until I snapped my achilies tendon. This killed my confidence as I was so worried that it would happen again. Then I fell pregnant and the rest, as they say, is history. I never managed to lose the weight I had gained. Instead my weight just kept creeping up and up. Over the last couple of years I had lost a couple of stone, then put one back on. With some regular ...classes and a few runs here and there I was back to a reasonable level of fitness but I would lose a few pounds one week and then put it back on the next. I was a total take away junkie and yo yo dieter. I felt like I was never going to make the significant changes to get back to where I really wanted to be and feel confident. My lack of confidence was holding me back from a lot of enjoyment in life, including being a Mum. рЯ§±рЯПї
Over 6 weeks Ashlea totally transformed my mental attitude towards exercise, food and life. I have lost over a stone in weight and a whole dress size. I have a long way to go but I can already fit into clothes that I haven't been able to wear for years. The biggest change is my mental well being and a new found positive attitude! рЯТ™рЯПљ

P L Y O M E T R I C S
This is a GREAT method of training to help you improve your explosive strength/power...
Coming from a Basketball background has meant that Plyometrics has played a great part in my training. ItвАЩs helped me jump quicker, & higher (so VERY useful for rebounding!) If you play a sport, or compete (sprinter, high jumper or similar), or you just want to improve your speed-strength then including this training in your workout will work wonders! рЯТ™рЯПљ
... This is one of my favourite exercises, - Plyo box jumps - (not just because I get a crazy hair swoosh! рЯШМ), but there are lots of ways you can adapt this to challenge you further! This means that the University are providing AJFitness with funds to purchase the tools needed to allow me to do a number of things! Sometimes it takes a whoooole lot of motivation to get yourself up off that sofa to go work up a sweat (trust me - weвАЩve all been there!), or to increase those weights, or do that extra burpee that you already resent before youвАЩve even tried! рЯШ≥
Point is... your body is SO much more physically capable than most people think! So before you start to walk when you are on that run, or skip that workout because you are вАШtoo tiredвАЩ or your body вАШcanвАЩ...t take itвАЩ give your brain a kick up the рЯНС, stop the excuses рЯЩЕрЯПљвАНвЩАпЄП & remind yourself that us humans are super creatures and you CAN do it! рЯТ™рЯПљ PUSH yourself out of your comfort zone & thatвАЩs when you will reap the results! So when you are ready to make that body transformation, donвАЩt forget it starts in that nugget on top of your shoulders first! рЯІ†
