Al-Noor Primary

About Al-Noor Primary

Al-Noor Muslim Primary School is a faith-based school on the outskirts of East London. We deliver a curriculum based on the National Curriculum, informed and supplemented by Qur’anic, Islamic and Arabic Studies.

Al-Noor Primary Description

The trustees of the Al-Noor Foundation all live and work in Redbridge or neighbouring boroughs. They embody the potential within local communities to affect positive change from within and make a measurable contribution towards ‘The Big Society’.

The trustees believe the success of any school can only materialise through a collective local community effort; collaborative in nature, genuinely cohesive, inclusive and respectful of the community in which it resides.

Ultimately, it is through these universal ideals that the trustees have found their common ground and it is their belief these ideals are shared by all the communities residing in Redbridge today.

Ramadan Quran Challenge
"The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong)…” [al-Baqarah 2:185]
The school is launching the ‘Ramadhan Family Qur’an Challenge’ this Ramadhan, for all Al-Noor families –including staff. The challenge is for all families to spend a part of each day during Ramadhan, reciting Qura’n together in a circle. Each family should start from the begi...nning of the Quran and bookmark where they get to at the end of each day. The families that make the most progress will be awarded a special prize insha’Allah!
The purpose of the challenge is to unite families in reading the Qur’an. There is a good article below providing some practical advice on how to come closer to the Quran. Open your heart to Quran http://productivemuslim.com/open-your-hea rt-to-quran/.Your child/ren have been given a copy of the Qur’an log which is also attached with this week's Jumu’ah notice. We would like you to complete each day, and hand in to the school after ‘Eid so we can judge which families have made the most progress, and announce the winners! We hope, with Allah’s Permission, that this initiative will help every family experience unique blessings and form a habit for life, which will be a form of continuous charity for all involved. JazakAllahukhair for your continued support and do start off tonight!

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
The Prophet (SAS) said:"whoever fasts during Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)
Prophet (SAS) said :"There is a gate to Paradise that is called ar-Rayyan. On the Day of Resurrection it will say: 'Where are those who fasted?' When the last [one] has passed through the gate, it will be locked." [al-Bukhari and Muslim].
... Prophet (SAS) said : "The time between the five prayers, two consecutive Friday Prayers, and two consecutive Ramadan's are expiations for all that has happened during that period, provided that one has avoided the grave (major) sins." [Muslim]
There are in the month of Ramadan in every day and night those to whom Allah grants freedom from the Fire, and there is for every Muslim a supplication which he can make and will be granted." [Hadith Ahmad, Saheeh]
Every action of the son of Adam is given manifold reward, each good deed receiving then times its like, up to seven hundred times. Allah the Most High said, 'Except for fasting, for it is for Me and I will give recompense for it, he leaves off his desires and his food for Me.' for the fasting person there are two times of joy; a time when he breaks his fast and a time of joy when he meets his Lord, and the smell coming from the mouth of the fasting person is better with Allah than the smell of musk." [al-Bukhari]
