This is an early notice for those interested in celebrating Christmas Day with family and friends at Alaturka Turkish Restaurant.
After a long consideration and some pressure (!) from our beloved regulars we have decided to open for lunch on Christmas Day. Our regulars would know that we normally are closed on Christmas Days. But we are very happy and excited to open our doors to you this Christmas Day 😊
... We are looking forward to having you with us so please let us know if you are interested in booking a table. Our chef Oz will come up with some delicious traditional Christmas food with Turkish twist. You will be fed and looked after well (as usual 😎)

Just received a letter from UK Power Networks thanking us for our support in donating a prize in their recent raffle.
They raised a fantastic £802 for much needed funds for ‘Tiffers’ The Bus Shelter Ipswich.

Went for the first time last night and loved it, staff are friendly and polite food was fantastic atmosphere was good, would recommend trying the eggplant and finishing with a Raki

We visited for the second time last night and it happened to be their belly dancing night. Loved every bit of the evening from the food to the entertainment. Brilliant atmosphere, and most people even got up and had a little dance. Will definitely be returning. ���

We chose Alaturka for our work’s Christmas Do this year. Everyone had a blast! Staff were very attentive to my gluten free requirements and everyone really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Love the belly dancers and the fact we can get up and dance too. Thank you Alaturka ... and great photos too �

Our 1st visit here tonight. We had an anniversary meal. Can't say how good the food was!!! The staff were wonderful, the restaurant itself beautifully decorated. We will definitely be returning �

My boyfriend and I love this restaurant and we eat out a lot and we eat a variety of cuisines and in a variety of towns and cities. We have been coming here regularly since its opening 3 years ago and it has been consistently good. The welcome is so friendly, the food is authentic and continually high quality and generous and you see regular faces who appreciate what Semra has created.

We came here with friends on Friday and had the most fantastic 3-course banquet. Our friends are real 'foodies' and they love the diversity available these days and how lucky we are to have the variety of cultural experiences.

The chef's meze is superb and the delicious casserole dishes are also superb with delicious rice as well. The Turkish red wine is also excellent. The sweet that I love is the Turkish rice pudding. Yum - and the Turkish delight! Blows away the cheap imitations out there...

The food is always freshly prepared and we fully appreciate that aspect.

The service is lovely and Semra scores well on TripAdvisor - and quite rightly so - it's an Ipswich gem!

Meal before show at the Ipswich Regent, excellent food, excellent service, excellent price and fitted in well before 7.30 start at event. We will be back :)

I asked for a vegan meal and got a really tasty meal, served beautifully and there was loads of it! Think it was the best vegan meal I've had in ages and the service was great - I was told what was in my meal and they were so helpful. Highly recommend this restaurant for vegans and non vegans alike - brilliant!

A pre theatre meal - i have been once before but took my partner this time. The service is flawless and the food superb. We will definately return. The meze starters we had were unusual but delicious as were our main courses (Sea bream & the Alaturka special) however the baklava and home made ice cream were amazing ! As for the turkish delight - wonderful!

A hidden gem in the heart of Ipswich. The quality of service, chefs, entertainment and hospitality means this is a restaurant not to be overlooked. It is one if the best and would recommend it to everyone.

4th visit to Alaturka and they never disappoint. Amazing food with great service. Perfect night out!!

Was nice food and friendly staff was an early meal so not many people in the restaurant so not much atmosphere but enjoyed it

Service is dull and lackluster, food is average at best. Waited a long time for food to arrive each course, and when it did it wasn't anything to shout about. Wine list is terrible, and very expensive. We shared a plater between 6 to start, and each had a main - £35 in total. I won't be going back.

The people that rate this a 5* need to take a visit to Haringey london. I went for the the Alaturka special and when it turn up I was left speechless by the lack of food on the plate. Just a little chicken, lamb and mince in a tomato sauce on top of around 4 or 5 1" square pieces of Turkish bread. Lucky I ordered a side salad. 1st time I've ever left a Turkish restaurant feeling hungry. I definitely won't be returning

We were served something completely different to our order, the food was dry not tasty compared to other Turkish restaurants in Ipswich. The waiter who served us didn't bother to apologise or rectify the issue! Not going back!
