American Speedfest

About American Speedfest

SpeedFest is the biggest celebration of American cars, music and food this side of the Atlantic! It's headlined by Europe's only certified NASCAR series.

American Speedfest Description

The American SpeedFest was launched in 2013 to great acclaim. Fusing American-oriented motoring and motorsport with music, food and entertainment, the event was an instant hit with spectators and families in particular. And the world-famous Brands Hatch is the perfect host venue - its natural amphitheatre offers unrivalled views of all the action, and its facilities are second to none. And it has great road links too, being just 5 minutes from junction 3 of the M25.

The iconic Kent track will be transformed into a scene from Daytona for a fifth successive year on Sat /Sun 10 /11 June 2017 when American SpeedFest V takes place. The superb NASCAR Whelen Euro Series makes its return as the headline act, bringing with it all the pomp and circumstance that we so closely associate with the US. Outrageous driver introductions, cheerleaders and The Star Spangled Banner will all feature, building up towards a bumper-to-bumper contest reminiscent of the world-famous Sprint Cup!

The American theme will continue across the support races with Bernie's V8s, a series showcasing powerful classic American cars featuring, and ever-popular Pickup Trucks. Plus there's demonstrations from classic American race cars, including Sprint Cup NASCARs and an Indy 500-winning Penske.

Spectators will be able to enjoy plenty away from the track too with a host of themed activities including live music throughout the day, a monster truck offering passenger rides, American cuisine and our very own Victory Lane, where spectators can be just inches from the cars and drivers for the NASCAR post-race celebrations! There will also be a myriad of classic American cars and bikes on display, and an amazing Fast & Furious celebration!

Stunt shows, free kids' entertainment and cheerleader displays all add to the fun at this brilliant, totally unique day out for all the family!

We're terribly saddened to hear that American commentary pro Brian Drebber has passed away.
Brian joined the American SpeedFest team at Brands Hatch for the first time this year and his stateside wit and charm helped to make this year's broadcast team the best we've had.
RIP Brian

Our first time visiting this event and we loved it. Very cheap camping and tickets if booked early including free stand passes and grid walk. Security were excellent on the campsite and very friendly. Well done all.

It was such an awsome day out. My little lad love it too and it was his 1st race he saw which he thought was so cool. It was such a great day out and well priced and loads of stuff to do. Me and my husband and our friend love it too we can't rave enough about it.

User

I have attended every year and as always it was an amazing day, great entertainment for all ages will definatly be attending next year. My only issues are that it gets more and more expensive every year i noticed this year that most things had gone up 2 and 3 pounds with drifting an extra 5 pounds... I used to think it was generally good value for brands hatch but this year i felt ripped off and it affected the experience as i ran out of money!

User

Great day out, kids loved it and adults

User

Great atmosphere and even better cars!! Great food and drink in corporate box. The 2 girls that looked after us were amazing.... Fairground rides were a bit in the pricy side but still highly recommend this event to everyone. We took our children (15/10 & 8) and they all had a fabulous time.. Venue really clean and all the staff we came across were happy, helpful and enjoying the day too

GREAT SHOW !!! The cars on show were fantastic. Races were great too. Highly recommended !

Fantastic day x

User

Beat one yet. Well planned and plenty to do. Thanks from the UK Hummer club

User

A fantastic day out, been going to this event for three years now and always have a brilliant day, cool cars, good races cool music and a great vibe, going back next year for sure 👍🏻

User

Great day out with lots to do agree with others fairground rides expensive for a harness bounce where there are not aloud to flip over and bumper cars bit pricey.

Seemed to be alot of demos this year rather than racing maybe to many compared to other years but for all the planning staff and drivers a great day out had by all :-)

User

Great day for adults and kids alike. Brands hatch is a fantastic place for this event as you can get right up close to the track. Plenty to see and do, shame some of the kids activities and monster truck rides were a tad expensive and there were long queues for the food stalls so would be helpful to put more on next time. Very enjoyable day though and worth the entrance ticket price.

Good weekend but not enough racing. Why not having legends as well as these are American based and always produce good racing. Seemed like the was less car displays this year but might because they were more spread out than previous years. My son's favourite as every year was the wall of death.

User

Fantastic day out with the family! Great races and food with plenty to do and see. The only downside was the expensive truck rides and driving simulators. I would still recommend it to friends

User

We enjoyed every minute of it especially the racing and classic cars but food is very pricey as you would expect.

User

This was our 3rd visit to American speedfest, and was a little disappointed this year compared to previous 2 visits, didn't like the move around as felt was too spread out, no transformer cars this year, and the cheerleaders were very annoying, waving a pom pom around to two songs sends u to sleep, even my 8year was bored, they just wanted to see the drivers

User

I like going to Brands Hatch for the Races, I think the Nascar Whelan Euro Series is good and the grid walk is a great thing for fans to do. Hailwoods Grandstand open which is another plus but I felt a bit bored as there was not enough racing and too many breaks between races. I would love to see more racing for next year but also respect that other people will have different views.

User

I go every year and i really enjoy myself looking at all the cars the only critism is they should have a mustang and other cars which you can sit in to get a feel for them im a massive fan of mustangs they are my dream car, but i dont have the money to buy one, when ive been to other car shows they have cars you can sit in maybe they should think of that for next year

User

I used to love this show every year it has been the one I look forward to But this year I have to say I was very disappointed it is clear the family aspect has gone and it’s now all about making money and commercialism, there was no lightning McQueen which is there every year and the kids were looking forward to seeing, all the show cars have been shoved down the back by pits and replaced with yet more food stalls and trade stools, the camping area is not the same since being depressed which I get if there is a lot more attending you need more space but it ruined the brands hatch camping experience compared to other years, the sat night barn entertainment was rubbish.. what happened to the usual country fun..?

For the amount of space on camping area now a party tent and bar could have been supplied so that people with young children didn’t have to walk miles for a bit of fun it wouldn’t have cost much to set up and would have made more money in fact but instead money was wasted on a helicopter and a precocious trump impressionist that no one gave 2 hoots about

It’s a shame and it’s true what people say money and a good thing makes people greedy,

It was a much more fun family and good atmospheric show the first 4 years than it is now I may not go again because of this fact and am gutted

User

Have been every year since it started. Not impressed this year, the layout for cars wasn't great, trade stalls where we normally display. Prices hiked up. Friends 65 mustang turned down but loads of modern mustangs that can be seen in any Ford garage. PT cruisers again not that interesting. Too much demo rather than racing. One positive Bernies v8's great as always.
