Just a quickie before today's fun begins...
Over the last few months, the last couple of years in fact, many people have asked me what do we look for in a band when booking them for Amplified?
There are obviously numerous factors, but the main one for me personally is being those acts that excite me. The ones that make me want to get up on stage and wish I was performing in the band with them.
... Music is obviously very personal to many of us, we all have our likes and dislikes which is what makes the music scene so varied and exciting.
Here at Amplified our ethos and indeed a couple of our 'cornerstones' on which the festival was created is simply to provide a platform for many bands you may never have previously heard of to perform alongside those acts we know you're going to like in equal measure.
Amplified's passion is driven to provide a stage on which to showcase these band's amazing abilities, themselves driven solely by the passion to get up in front of you, the festival goer and perform.
Indeed it's another Amplified 'cornerstone' to find the headliners of tomorrow today, thereby giving many acts their first 'taste' of headlining a festival here in the UK.
So we'll see you all back here at 10.00am as we finally begin announcing the next 9 acts joining us here at Amplified in 2019...it's going to be bigger and heavier than before!

A heartfelt message...
After reading and hearing about many of our musician friends who struggle on a day to day basis with their mental wellbeing, Amplified are proud to have teamed up with the Mental Health Foundation to aid them and us as an event in bringing greater awareness to those who may need help!
We all know it's hard to speak out sometimes and if I'm being honest with all you wonderful supporters of Amplified, even myself (Gary) as the event organiser could do wit...h 'letting it all out' now and again. Do I?, well that would be telling wouldn't it and that's the main point...
...too many of us bottle up our emotions seeing it a 'weakness' to talk to people and be expressive, cry and be openly emotional in front of others.
Yea, some of us may all look 'tough and mean' with our tattoos and piercings, performing and listening to really heavy music along with enjoying a frantic mosh now and again, but we all know we're actually a sensitive bunch really 😉
So please let's start by sharing this post and then maybe just text a friend asking how their day has been, invite a friend out for a drink who you may not have heard from in a while or even pop round to a friend's and knock on the door just to say 'Hi'!
You never know it could be you that's needed to talk, but you've been 'afraid' to do so? Maybe you're the one that someone reached out to and on that particular day you were too busy to lend an ear? So go on, stop whatever you're doing for 5 minutes and give that friend a call...they may really need your help or just a quick chat and I'm sure we can all spare a little time for those we care about...
