We proudly took part in this years Great Yarmouth East Coast run Couch to 10k
For the last six weeks we have been in training with the great two times Olympic Finalist and Chicago Marathon Winner Paul Evans also supporting him the fantastic Dudley.
The sessions which were funded by Active Norfolk have seen residents develop their running ability and endurance.
... Showing weekly commitment to this program residents have learned the importance of how keeping active improves not only fitness , but mental health also.
A big shout out to David .... your pain paid off , you succeeded and gained the medal you did not think you were going to achieve.

Today sees us getting serious with the Couch to 10K .We are currently in our fourth week and we can already see some improvements within the group, alongside some natural runners being identified.
This has been a fantastic project to get involved in for the residents and has really pushed some of their boundaries.
They have showed some great team spirit and morale.
... It was great to hear from one resident who expressed how much better they had felt by getting out of the house and doing something active.

This truely is an inspirational story.
Jordan was supported by The East Anglia Anchorage Trust , Premier Sport Foundation, GamCare, Gamblers Anonymous and other health professions last year.
Coming to us a shadow of himself it’s hard to believe this is the same person.
... Jordan came to us after becoming homeless due to a life destroying gambling addiction. Loosing his job, being separated from his family and on the brinks of despair with no hope at all we watched day by day Jordan turn his life around. Providing him with a safe and secure home we were able to watch Jordan go from strength to strength.
With the dedication from himself and investment of time from support workers here at The East Anglia Anchorage Trust Jordan was able to beat his gambling addiction using counselling sessions with Gamcare and attending weekly Gamblers Anonymous meetings.
Alongside this with partnership working with Premier Sport Foundation they were able to quickly identify his passion for sport and recognised a quality in himself that Jordan had too quickly forgotten he had. With their belief and a direction for Jordan to follow he went on to gain qualifications and employment with them.
Jordan is proof that anyone can overcome their problems.

A few of our young adults have been taking part in an art project, which was held in conjunction with Marks and Spencer Great Yarmouth.
The remit was to collect old driftwood from the shoreline and use their imaginations! Here are just two examples of their creativity.

Very proud to receive this today from one of our residents whom has successfully enrolled at East Coast College for Level 2 Sports.
He is over the moon with his recent life choice and cannot wait till he starts in a couple of weeks.
The sheer excitement in his voice is what makes this job worth while.

SV Tenacious’s Jubilee Sailing Trust Voyage came to an end back at Gunwharf Portsmouth on Friday but not the journey - inspiring youngsters , veterans and crew.
The voyage saw the SV Tenacious follow the wind from Portsmouth to Caen, France. Up and back down the Caen River past Pegasus Bridge and back via the Isle of Wight.
“ I have had one of the most inspirational and fun weeks of my life this last week, thanks to the Jubilee Sailing Trust😀🇫🇷!

The lads are absolutely loving their trip with Jubilee Sailing Trust. Stunning scenery and were very fortunate enough to watch the dolphins swim alongside them at 6.00am this morning 🌊🐬

The boys have finally ventured off to Portsmouth today to join SV Tenacious Jubilee Sailing Trust

Our Business Manager Claire visited Broadland High School this week to personally thank the students and staff for their participation in a Sleepout fundraising event for The East Anglia Anchorage Trust.
With their commitment and fundraising skills we were delighted and very grateful for the fantastic £805 raised.
Well done to all who were involved!!

Some of our residents have taken to painting.
Whilst enjoying the last few weeks of the sun they decided that it was time to freshen up their outside space. They have some great plans.
This is just the beginning and we are looking forward to the end results.
