The evidence is increasingly that artificial sweeteners make people fat (!!!) And have been known for some time to cause or exacerbate neurological problems (possibly related to the fact that MS is associated with small intestine issues, and the central nervous system immune system is linked to gut bacteria.)
If you have a sugar metabolism issue, better to stabilise blood sugar by increasing protein, reducing refined sugars and refined flours; and cutting out stimulants (caffeine, strong tea and cheap green tea bags).

This study presents is a line of thinking about illness - that I have been putting into practice for about 5 years. Nice to see it out there. It's not just CFS/ME that are caused by these metabolic shifts. Pretty well every illness you can imagine can start as a result of the body's physiology partially entering a hibernation state. I will be teaching all this on the PolyVagal workshop 3rd November. See http://www.body-mind.co.uk/workshops/poly vagal

https://bjsm.bmj.com/ŌĆ”/early/2018/07/17 /bjsports-2018-099198 Fibromyalgia and other forms of pain not arising from direct impact (including normal backache!) have a vast range of possible causes - and the main difficulty with most mainstream approaches is that there is an attempt to fit one or two kinds of treatment to this very diverse patient group. It works for some, and for others it can make things worse. Facebook is full of expensive gadgets being advertised that work...ed for someone and probably won't work for most other people. CST is a very flexible and broad approach that is based on a continuous attention to diagnostic feedback from the body. So treatments are tailored to the needs of each individual, which often changes from one treatment to the next. This leads to a very efficient and long term solution to many forms of pain. Including pain with no apparent cause, and pain from direct injuries!

Quite a few long term studies are showing significant (negative) side effects from the HPV vaccine. This one shows something like a 30-50% reduction in fertility in HPV vaccinated Vs not vaccinated. https://www.tandfonline.com/ŌĆ”/abs/10.ŌĆ ”/15287394.2018.1477640

I'll be running a workshop this November : Saturday 3rd for anyone, See http://www.body-mind.co.uk/workshops/poly vagal followed up with a small closed group (max 12 people) on Sunday 4th for therapists...
This workshop teaches a map to the Autonomic nervous system - which is a fundamental life-skill.
It gives a clear guide to how the body and mind are connected, and which part of the body-mind is in charge.
... It is a map that can be used to have a daily practice of engaging with the senses in a way that helps prevent trauma by helping you to be more embodied and resilient.
It's also a map that is now an indispensible part of state-of-the-art trauma treatment, and if you know this map you have a lot more options for self-treatment and self-stabilisation.

This just about sums it up. The push towards formula and bottle feeding has largely been driven by commercial interests. Yes it's important to have a substitute if breast feeding is impossible. But if it's possible, then it's best for the baby's immune system, for the development of its face and teeth, and for many other reasons.

The Digital Human presents a nice review and personal examples of Depersonalisation. This affects about 2% of the UK population. "Aware of emotions but as if someone else is experiencing them/as if on outside. Constant glass wall between me and the world."
"Embodiment is the starting point of an experience of who we are, of our identity - intimately from the inside (as opposed to seeing yourself in a mirror)."

In fact, babies respond positively to being talked to right from the first moment. Their brains are not efficiently wired at birth - because they first produce too many neurons with an relatively unstructured connectivity. But even during pregnancy some of their brain will be structuring itself - as they move (the baby moves right from the moment of conception); by feeling the mothers emotional landscape they are ...inside; and by hearing/feeling the vibration of voices. This lack of adult connection and efficiency means that a baby can take 5 or 10 seconds to work out what has been said to it, but if babies are talked to calmly and slowly and then given time to respond, they will very very quickly begin to make meaningful communication back. The main thing that can gets in the way of this is distress - either the baby being in distress/pain, or the mother or both parents being overwhelmed or in pain. So a really important part of my work as a CST practitioner is to get the conditions as good as possible so this early communication and brain development can be as good as possible.
