Housed in Brocket Hall’s former hunting lodge, Auberge du Lac enjoys an idyllic lakeside setting overlooking the beautiful 543 acre country estate and the Hall itself. With three AA Rosettes and numerous other awards, Auberge du Lac is a five star restaurant which provides the highest standards in cuisine and service.
Whether it is al fresco dining in summer at the water’s edge, or an intimate environment in the winter months, Auberge du Lac provides the right mood for every occasion. With a beautiful lounge, picturesque terrace and a host of tastefully decorated private dining rooms, capable of seating from 2 to 30 guests, the restaurant regularly caters for private dinners, ladies lunches, weddings, birthday parties and other celebrations.

New dish alert! From our Table d’hôte menu – Slow Cooked Pork Belly served with cep puree, cavolo and apple.
This is the latest addition to our Table d’hôte Menu. South Coast Gurnard garnished with curried sweetcorn puree, charred leek and yogurt.
This fabulous dessert is on our À la Carte Menu! 46% Bahibe Marquise with honeycomb & buttermilk from our Pastry Chef Louise Kissane.

absolutely delicious meal at Auberge Du Lac Brocket Hall tonight for our Wedding anniversary: brand new team giving excellent customer service with the just the right amount of humour and making you feel special. Give it a try as they are aiming high and deserve recognition! I felt I was in my home country and really was in awe of the wine selection and the cheese board was amazing!
We were their for a special birthday lunch. The food was very nice, although we did chuckle at the main course of “seasonal carrot” ! Staff very attentive.
We were taken there at the weekend for a wonderful Sunday lunch. Incomparable service and superb food. A real gem in the grounds of a Brocket Hall.
We had the 8 course taster menu with accompanying wines last night. It was a beautiful warm evening so we had cocktails in the garden by the lake before dinner with stunning views of the grounds of Brocket Hall.
The food was beautifully and artistically presented. The flavour combinations were perfect & each wine was expertly matched.
The yeast butter was absolutely gorgeous! Like a creamy marmite mousse.
The waiting staff were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. Of course, all this comes at a premium, but definitely worth it. We will be back! Thanks for a lovely evening. Samantha and Gavin Ireland.
There was a mess up with the booking but they absolutely went above and beyond to make the evening so special. The food was fabulous and amazingly filling! Can not wait to go again!
It was my 50th bday so we decided to go somewhere fancy and special and that is exactly what we got at Auberge du Lac. The taster menu was a delight and we chose to have it with the accompanying wines. The service was excellent and the sommelier’s choice of wines was perfect for each course: either marrying to the food or cleansing the palate. We arrived early and enjoyed a cocktail on the terrace. The grounds around the lake are very pleasant and a short stroll will present you with a beautiful view of Brocket Hall - a lovely backdrop for some photos. Afterwards, we enjoyed our coffees back on the terrace (now kept warm with patio heaters). All in all a very special evening and made even better by our son acting as chauffeur for the evening!
Have had a few Xmas day and birthday dinners here they are by far the best,the food is excellent,the service is exceptional and the surroundings supreme.So that is why I gave it 5 stars.
Had an amazing lunch with mother law. Food fabulous staff welcoming and knowledgeable. Young waiter especially polite, spiced pineapple better than Heston tipsy cake. Some very nice extra touches and would love to be able to buy some of their butters for home. Yeast butter is top ���

Delightful meal had here over the festive period. The staff were wonderfully attentive and the quality of cuisine was exquisite. I can't praise this place enough! I will be back in the summer to sit outside and indulge a few nibbles in the sun.

Beautiful restaurant in the fabulous estate of brocket hall. Very relaxed atmosphere and welcome from staff. Really good information about menu which was important for one of our party who is gluten free.
Amazing food (easily Michelin star standard) and friendly service in a wonderful location. One of the very best in Hertfordshire.
Amazing experience, very friendly chef 👨🏻🍳 and I will warmly recommend this place to any one who wants a good meal and beautiful seating.
Excellent service and wonderful food in a lovely setting. Only reason for not awarding 5th star was because I found the ambient music played in the restaurant just a little too loud for my liking. Otherwise a truly enjoyable experience.

You wouldn’t want to go if you were hungry
My steak was tough and bleeding even though I asked for medium
I don’t have a problem paying over £200 for a meal on special occasions but expected it to have a wow factor which was distinctly missing
