If you want to hear about shows first hand the best way is to sign up to our mailing list, we won't bombard you with mails just send you a message every now & then letting you know about our new gigs...

Yes it's a bit rough round the edges, yes there's a crowd smoking on the way in but once inside, it's a great atmosphere, staff are friendly, bars are well stocked, and on Sunday night the place was full for Geno Washington and his Ram Jam band, the Zippheads who supported were great too. Sound was good and the team obviously work hard. Great to see so many from my demographic (50+) having a bloody great night out. Finally must have some of the best bog graffiti for miles around! Keep up the good work Esquires.

This is one of the best live music venues in the country. Sound quality was second to none . 3 stages are on offer for different simultaneous music events. The sound engineers here are first rate.

Such a great venue. Been to Esquires quite a few times now and always had a great night out. The bands are always top quality and tickets are really well priced.

So how do you sum up Esquires? It's the beating heart of live music in Bedford. No place like it, and believe me I've been to a few gigs over the years! Feel lucky to have it in my life!������

Seen a few bands in Esquires over the last few years, I haven’t left without having a brilliant night!

One of the best gigs I’ve seen in years last night with the chameleons and what a fantastic venue the sound system was amazing would recommend this venue to everyone I’ll definitely be back well done esquires

Love this place. So much history, seen some real gems at Essies, my highlights being crystal castles and a very young alt j. Love the stages, you're right on top of the bands so they have to perform. Heart and soul of bedford. Keep up the good work guys, looking forward to Natty!

It was our 1st time here recently watching Hurricane Fly and we loved it! Will be back for sure! Great staff and great gin menu too �

I'm not a regular at Bedford Esquires, but with a performance by Arrested Development last night 16/8/17, I shall be attending more often, great atmosphere, great venue, friendly staff and excellent choice of artist. I know you've been doing this kind of thing for more years than I can remember, but keep doing it. Great stuff�

I went to see the Magic Numbers who were awesome. One of the best bands I’ve seen. The venue is a nice space and the staff that I met were all lovely. Unfortunately, what could have been a great atmosphere was spoilt by some individuals in the crowd who were constantly talking through the gig, beer was thrown and a fight nearly broke out. I hardly believe that the crowd were Magic Numbers fans and felt sorry for the Magic Numbers having to put up with some really unacceptable behaviour.

It was a Friday night so perhaps it’s better seeing gigs there on week days to avoid the revellers. My tickets said 14’s to 18’s to be accompanied by an adult - personally I wouldn’t have felt comfortable bringing younger fans.

Management have assured me that this experience was a one off and have been proactive in responding to my concerns. I am looking forward to visiting the venue again, and hopefully enjoy a more pleasant atmosphere.

I have since been to see the lovely eggs here and it is a fantastic venue to see a punk band. Once again the staff were all great. The management are are proactive and responsive to ensure the customers are happy.

Had an excellent time seeing KRS One, Skinnyman and Trauma 74 here on Friday night. All 3 acts rocked it but the venue itself and the general good vibe definitely enhanced the experience. Would recommend and go back in the future 👍🏼

Had a great night out here with a friend, we saw Janet Kay excellent. Lovely friendly people too. Never went into disco area downstairs as venue didn’t finish until late. Bar area was nice with lots of seating down there. Very enjoyable night topped off with a lovely Kabab to die for near our hotel !..

Great venue with great atmosphere. Only wish it was more accessible for those with physical disabilities

Great club, great bands, yeah it's a bit shabby, but it's a rock and roll venue, and long may it continue to be so.....love watching and mixing with some of my favourite bands here, Dub Pistols, Gentlemans Dub Club, Special kinda Madness, The Beat, Bedfords finest, The Ska Masters, The Pride, Bedford has a little diamond, that is something everyone should be proud of. Cheers.

First time at your venue, seeing The Chameleons. Fantastic, proper old school venue! Took me back! I live in Cambridge, but if another of my old favourites play I'll definitely be back. Cheers!

Bedford is blessed to have a great local music venue with friendly staff and a place I can chill and not feel intimidated. The refurbishment has opened up a few areas nicely and the sound system checks meant the recent Roni Size gig went well. I have seen more bands recently and some great gigs on the way!

As per Irma cracking night and red stripe on draught!!!

Always coming up to esquires to watch gigs or play gigs, great selection of drink and always a good night out. Staff are always really friendly and cool to talk to.



One of the very few venues giving rock and metal bands a chance to be heard.
