Have fun and build self-confidence learning and practicing various improv skills and games with BlackBox Improv Workshop. For our 23rd session, "Games From The BlackBox", we'll be playing a myriad of improv games chosen at random from the infamous BlackBox. It's the perfect opportunity for everyone to try leading the group, and also improve their compere / host skills. Session Leader: Phil Stewart BlackBox Improv Workshop's fortnightly drop-in sessions are educational as well... as great fun. There's no pressure - participants aren't made to join in any games they feel don't comfortable with (but may well surprise themselves if they are brave enough to step outside their comfort zone!) A collective learning hub, each individually-themed stand-alone session is led by a different member of the group, so everyone gets the opportunity to both learn and teach. Open to all abilities - no experience required. 18+. Free parking is available nearby. The pub is on the edge of the restricted zone S; there are normally spaces in adjacent zone T (unrestricted after 6.30pm) within 2 minutes walk of the pub, often found at the bottom of the hill.

NO SESSION TONIGHT! Because England are (unexpectedly!) in the World Cup semi-finals, the next BlackBox session is on next Wednesday, appropriately entitled "It Never Goes As Planned". Nicky's session "Let's Face The Music", originally advertised for tonight, is on in two weeks.

Sorry about the late notice - but in a change to the advertised programme (and because England are playing much better than expected!), BlackBox Improv Workshop has been postponed until NEXT WEEK - 18th July - for a session appropriately entitled "It Never Goes As Planned".

We'll focus on how to recognise who currently has control of a scene, and how to support them.
