Massive congratulations to client and friend Ryan Cox on his super impressive 12 week transformation...His still got another week until his photoshoot!
This guy has been a 110% dedicated to following his training and nutrition programme set for his goals and is now reaping the rewards! He should be proud of the grit he has shown especially that his other half has had their second child during this dietary phase and it shows that even with loads of other things going on in li...fe that if you're dedicated enough to want to change yourself then it will happen!
Well done Ryan!

Another dear friend and diet prep client I want to say a massive well done and congratulations to is Chris Burgess! He absolutely smashed the Fit Factor this year and only went and placed 2nd on his first fitness competition!! Well done buddy! Cannot be more proud of you!
He trained super hard and didn't quit even when the going was tough and he stuck to his diet 110%. He definitely can be proud of himself and is one to keep an eye on in the future. Now time to rest up for a bit and then to move onwards and upwards!

Finally a chance to get on here after a great weekend at the BodyPower Expo to say a special well done to both my dear friend and client Aaron Stephens on getting through to the final of the Fit Factor competition and placing in the top 15! For his first competition that's pretty darn good! He done his absolute best and that's all I can ask for.
With sticking to the plan with both his training and diet he reaped the benefits and especially after not being able to do the show... last year he can only be more proud of what he accomplished this year.
And again (sounding like a broken record) I cannot be more proud of how well he done this weekend. Now time to have some much needed rest now buddy, you deserve it!

It's late afternoon and end of the weekend. Did you all hit your targets and goals? Did you set any to begin with? If not then give your self that direction by setting your self both short term and long term goals. Do something that will give you a boost and some confidence! Time to make a difference..

Good morning all! A little chilly this nice sunny morning. So if you're out and about then keep warm and warm up efficiently. Meaning if you're in the gym or having a run then get them limbs moving appropriate to what exercise you're performing. Keep the static stretching until after you've done the majority of your exercise as doing that before could potentially overstretch your cold joints and muscles :)

This time tomorrow I will be letting my hair down on a rare occasion with my fellow fitness buddy's on our Xmas do :)
But normally I enjoy sore muscles and knowing that I am constantly pushing myself both physically and mentally. Pushing the boundaries and then some. I want to lead by example so I anything I put my clients through I have been through numerous times before. Be safe, be effective and get results. If you are consistent and you moderate your eating habits then ...you eventually will get to be where you want. Patience is vital. Push through the tough times and enjoy the good times :)
Hope you all have a great weekend and that you enjoy the new logo!

Getting the most out your bench press....
People so often put the unnecessary risk on their rotator cuffs and deltoids with regards to this exercise.
If you want to improve then simply follow the simple steps:
... 1) Keep your feet tucked in as much as possible but firmly on the floor. 2) Squeeze the glutes (bum) and thighs to steady the lower body and give you a natural arch of the spine to help recruitment of the back muscles. 3) Place your hands slightly wider than shoulder width on the bar. 3) Tuck the shoulders to recruit the chest muscles as the focal point in the movement. 4) Make sure you bring the bar down to the chest! No HALF REP'S! 5) When looking to force the bar up make sure you are looking to push yourself back from the bar (as if the bar remains static) rather than pushing it away. This will help keep you steady and deter from to much shoulder recruitment.
Now time to go make some solid PB's! Good luck :)

Omega 3 Fish Oils...what is the deal?
It is becoming common now within the health and fitness industry that the phrase 'you must make sure you're getting your fish oils in'. But does that mean you have to dose up on a load of tablets?
Answer is probably not...you can get good quantities of omega 3 fish oils from fatty marine fish such as salmon, mackerel and herring and other sources such as flax seed oil and walnuts. The reason omega 3 is now highlighted is because our food ...industry is very omega 6 driven (live stock food such as cows, chickens and eggs) and to have a healthy balance you have to have a near equal amount. Being very dominate towards omega 6 can lead to physiological implications such as thrombosis and vasoconstriction..which none of us particularly want.
Can you have to much Omega 3? (Especially as people say more is better) Well the answer is of course you can. A good standard amount of Omega 3 is having between two to four standard palm sized amounts of marine fish a week, if you are a highly trained individual then the higher end will be beneficial but anything more than that could potentially hinder performance due to slowing the immune system. If you aren't a fish person then supplementing with a 250mg Omega 3 tablet per day should be enough but again circumstances vary with each individual so check with your local GP if unsure.
Hope that helps! :)

Want to say a massive well done to my client Martin on setting a new one repetition max personal best on the Deadlift.
Got an amazing 205Kg raw!!!
This is truly amazing considering that nine months ago we were working on technique with the 20kg bar and trying to perfect the correct movement. It shows how dedicated, persistent and hard working he is. Truly proud of him.
... We are now seriously considering joining a natural drug tested power lifting federation and smashing some records!
