We had a LARGE family meal there last night, I must admit with some trepidation after reading some of the other reviews on here. However we thought the staff coped admirably with the situation, from Leanne behind the bar displaying her knowledge of the different wines in stock, to Megan who served us, not to mention the other girls who helped bring our food out, which was all well cooked and presented and HOT, no mean feat for a party of over twenty people. Then at the bar afterwards, Dion was very friendly and helpful serving us with more drinks. Our children thoroughly enjoyed the play area and we were seated in a great place where we could get up and move around to the other tables in our party to talk if we wished, without disturbing other diners. All in all we all had a very good night. I wish I had asked more people for their names so I could thank them but they were all, without exception, friendly, helpful and made our evening. Thank you all, I wouldn't hesitate to come again next time we need a venue for a get together.

Popped in with the grandkids on the way home from the seaside. Excellent, welcoming service, good choices, tasty, well prepared food, attentive staff. Been several times in the past, always enjoy it

Myself, my other half and 3 year old boy ate here for dinner today and I must say a big credit goes out to the lady who was serving us, I didn't catch her name but she was the only watress and was mega rushed off her feet!! She was so polite and apologetic and always kept a smile on her face, even though she was so rushed she still took the time out and make the effort to talk to us about my son which was lovely so thank you, alot of restaurants need more people like you and I hope you see this :) Xx

Lovely meal yesterday lunch. But can't find the price of breakfast anywhere. I know kids eat free but how much do adults pay?

User

Very friendly and laid back staff. Food is good, nice choice of alcohol. What's not to like

My little one has just had his birthday party here and he loved every second of it and so did all his friends. Thank you all so much

Visited for the first time for my granddaughter's birthday and whilst the food was good the service was abysmal. It was almost as if the staff had forgotten that it has supposedly become a waitress served restaurant! We had to constantly try to find someone to actually serve us. I would add that the place was deserted so how they manage when they have a few customers I can't imagine!

On the dessert menu it states that some of the desserts could be taken home so when I asked one particularly off-hand waitress which desserts were suitable for taking home she snootily answered that obviously the desserts with ice cream were exempt (oh really?!!) but everything else was ok. When we then tried to order some desserts for taking home she then said that actually there were very few that were suitable-surely these should be highlighted on the menu and then I wouldn't have had to ask this very unhelpful person. This particular waitress has a very unfortunate manner and clearly is not very happy in her job-maybe she should look for something more suitable for her personality!

Such a shame that although the food was good and the menu has lots of choices we would certainly not go to this particular Brewers Fayre again.

The food is ok but I find the staff really unfriendly and unhelpful. We reserve our table and are left waiting to be seated for ages, same when paying totally ignored until I thank them for our “free meal” then we get served. I have a bonus card but points have not been added last 2 times we have visited, not going again for a while and hopefully the customer service will have improved.

We have been there on a few occasions but it has seriously gone downhill . It was my daughters birthday so thought we would treat her to lunch . It was around 12 o’clock so they had only just opened for lunchtime . The high chairs were filthy we had to clean it up before we could put my grandson in it. The food was very average and yes we did mention to the waitress at the time and all she said was we will make a note of it and tell the chef . Sorry but won’t be coming back in a hurry.

Tandoori mixed grill was cold & burnt. Husband's steak was burnt. White wine served warm in a hi ball glass. Service was incredibly slow. When the waiter asked "Sorry, have you been waiting long?" I said "yes we have" He replied "Well there's nothing like honesty" ..... will never go again and don't reccomend this place.

User

Had the new tandoori mixed grill when it finally arrived chips where cold and the two sweet potato bhajis where cremated asked to see the manger they didn't bother to turn up so the waiter took the mixed grill off the bill shocking meal .

What an awful place not one staff member cracked a smile it seems to take 2 staff to work on a till or they are stood around chatting. Lip stick on my wine glass then my pound got stuck in the grabber machine and they say there’s nothing they can do about it I can’t get my pound back. Orded food it came out stone cold I’ve had warmer meals in weatherspoons I sent it back and waited 30 mins for another meal AVOID AVOID AVOID

I have been 5 times in the last 5 weeks the last time was today. First 2 times was ok, but the 3rd time the food was totally wrong on so many levels, brought out wrong charges wrong then it was cold etc, 4th visit used buffet there was no food on it, waited for over 30mins and gave up!! Today went in was told to sit down and a waitress would take our order.... gave up waiting went to the bar then the waitress came over and told me to sit down, I said we had been waiting ages she was then so rude shouting I can’t be in 2 places at once!!! We got up and left!!! What an awful place DO NOT GO !!!

I email you over a week ago and not heard anything about from you I think that is really bad complaint about breakfast with Santa how bad it was and a wast of money when u sell something call breakfast with Santa you would think he would come out to the table to see the kids not have to wait an hour for your chef to finish then dress up in a very cheap out fit walk past to kids and when we got to see him he didn't even say a thing to them he was in a rush to get back there was 6 of us that came and had very upset kids on the way home when they have been waiting all week to have breakfast with him i think this is very poor

User

First of all the pregnant waitress was lovely 10/10 . Took my wife for a Mother’s Day dinner we had the Carvery I pre booked the table for 17.00 it was disgusting and dry thank you for spoiling my wife’s Mother’s Day treat won’t be doing it again

User

Awful. Asked for veggie option with carvery and waited around 10 minutes for them to sort it, which I didn't mind but then had to wait for them to bring out more veg. By the time I got back to my table my family had finished their meals and had to wait for me. When I finally sat to eat my vegetarian wellington was stone cold. I don't think anyone had attempted to heat it so I don't know what they were doing with it for 10 minutes. The waitress was really pissed off about something, face like thunder and I had to keep reminding her of stuff. Order took ages to be taken too. Also, after spending 30 odd quid on food I was surprised then to be charged for the play area... won't return.

User

Awful, awful place only giving it one star because it makes you - we were a large party & paying separately but asked for our food to come out as one order - my brother & his girlfriend finally received their meals half an hour after the rest of us had finished eating & after numerous complaints, when they finally received the food it was cold, apparently the chefs (I use the term chefs loosely) never received their food order - the managers first response was to offer a free dessert!!!! The rest of us "enjoyed" cold, greasy, fatty food & we were then left to sit for over 45mins with dirty plates at our table until we complained again (we had booked the place as we wanted a large enough venue for our whole family to get together to eat, swap Xmas presents etc before Xmas - some of us had travelled quite a few miles so that is why we didn't just leave as we would never have found anywhere else at short notice.) Upon arrival the front of house staff member that seats you & the manager decided to argue in front of us over where we were being seated, even though I phoned & booked the table over 2 weeks ago! The ladies toilet was out of order & there was old stale food under the table from the previous diners... We will NEVER be going back - absolutely disgusted with this place & I really begrudge the money spent here - do yourself a favour & avoid at all costs!!!!

User

Ate here on the 20th February and when I paid with my card was told the machine was faulty and so I paid again. Subsequently I was billed twice for the same transaction. Contacted my bank who say it's Brewers fayre's fault (which it is) so phoned Brewers fayre only to be old they can't deal with it and to go to my bank! Certainly won't be going back and would advise to use cash if you do visit .

User

Appalling food luke warm and under cooked .served by a stroppy teenager who practically threw the plates onto the table and didnt bother to take the dirty plates away .wasnt cheap so dont understand the lack of quality food .Rib eye steak was 50%pure fat
