Went for a family breakfast yesterday as it was my granddaughters 7th birthday. The kids love it here as it's a novelty for them being able to help themselves & going back for seconds! It was very busy but the hot food was hot & the cold was cold! Didn't mind waiting a little while for my porridge to arrive from the kitchen because of how busy it was.

Have been here for dinner several times too & the food has always been great. Staff are very friendly.

User

I must say Thanks to the friendly, warm welcoming staff. Who are well trained excellent customer service. Very polite, kind and helpful staff with happy smile on their faces even when it's rushy and buzy. We were really impressed by the service. Loved the meal, great tasty food, well cooked. Nice breakfast. Great, comfortable place to have a meal.

Hello,

With the deadline to my fundraising now closed, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, on behalf of myself and Restless Development International, for all your assistance in aiding the success of my fundraising.

Our goal was to raise £800, and we raised an astonishing £1082.03!

It has given me great pleasure to have be teamed with your business for the duration of my fundraising meal, quiz and raffle event, on Wednesday the 21st of February 2018. The opportunities your assistance has allowed hundreds of other individuals is exponential, and I therefore wish to acknowledge your impact on our cause.

Had breakfast here today for 8.99 u get a hot breakfast and continental breakfast basically as much as u van eat. Unlimited drinks. Food was fantastic would come here again kids eat for free. 5 star food and service

User

Had a really nice meal in there today , staff were really friendly and a nice atmosphere

User

Full English after driving up from Dover and it was delicious hit the spot proper like

User

To be honest, the food was excellent, I would happily have given 5 stars but for the fact we were after a few minutes waiting shown to our table but we're not told to order at the bar, yet they take orders for drinks..... what s that all about, anyway after 15 minutes and ready to walk out, I collered a person clearing tables who said I had to order at the bar. Please please instruct your meet and greet staff to tell customers they have to order at the bar, it will save them looking like a lemon just sitting at a table.

User

The food was lovely but the burgers was a bit burnt plus it was value for money plus the service was good aswell

User

The food is soo nice here, we had limited edition 'Mighty' and 'Ultimate' burgers. Although we had to wait a while to be seated despite reserving our table (because no one was there), the staff were polite and helpful. The portion sizes could also have been slightly bigger, considering the price.

User

Decent food and atmosphere, clean and tidy...

User

We had 2 adults and 3 children with us. The children had the buffet adults ordered. Wait over half hour. There wasnt many ppl in there. When the food came out you could tell it had been sitting on the side for a while. Had the gaman. It was really salty and very chewy. Couldnt eat it. Was a shame have been before and was nice.

User

The waiter was grumpy and rude no manners, got our order wrong but the food was nice

User

Food nice, but slow service even when empty. Asked for mayo told none available, asked for another nine available.

We drove down to Southend from Lincolnshire. We were staying in the adjoining Premier Inn so it was a convenient place to eat. We asked for a table for two and were told we had an hour and 15 minutes and that was it as the table was booked. We ordered drinks & food and quite promptly we were brought our starters, which was very nice. We then waited a further 45 minutes before asking a waitress where our mains were as we were well aware we had to move from the table. She said she would chase it up, didn't see her again. A further 15 minutes later I went to speak to the manager who told us were had limited time. He told me he had laid another table so we could take our time. I returned to our table to find the food had arrived. My partner ordered Yorkshire pudding with sausages and mash which was smash and I ordered 'smothered chicken'. My chips were cold and my chicken was burnt black. I asked the waiter to take it away and I was asked if I wanted a replacement. I said no as we may have to wait another hour. We finished our drinks and left.

I don't think this was an off night as we have had issues with breakfast here too. I would not recommend Brewers Fayre but this has no bearing on the adjoining Premier Inn which we have no complaints.

User

After reading the other reviews I am wondering whether we just got them on a "off day" our table of 11 was booked for 5pm on a Saturday evening, we all placed our order together the starters all came out separately and then 3 mains were served whilst the other members of the party waited another 30 minutes for their mains! On 3 occasions we was told it was being plated! The waiting staff were pleasant enough however we found the manager to be unapproachable and quite defensive in his manner!

User

Went there yesterday, was told no more BUFFET nights as head office have stopped it,going to another Brewers Fare next week asked about BUFFET and they said they are still doing it

User

Not a good experience.

To start, the carpark instructions are unclear and when we asked staff they told us the opposite of what the signs said? Purchased a ticket but if we receive a penalty notice because we didn't text the number then you will be hearing from us.

We were seated and looked at the menu. Went up to order and were told the low cal option of steak I wanted was off so had to have the larger one. The waiter couldn't just do the low calorie option with the other steak and it took my son to go back up and speak to a different member of staff to adjust the order to what I actually wanted.

We watched other tables waiting a long time for their orders and then leaving their meals as they obviously weren't happy with them. One table asked for a refund as they couldn't wait any longer.

Our meal eventually turned up after 50 minutes. My sons burger didn't have onions in it as described on the menu. My steak was over done, gristly, and very disappointing while the tomato had barely seen the heat and was too hard. My green veg was obviously frozen and was a mush. The only thing that was nice, were the sauté mushrooms.

We didn't bother with dessert.

Overall it was very disappointing. It wasn't that busy but the staff didn't seem very competent. No one checked if we were happy with our meals. And no one was around when we left.

We won't be returning.

User

Food seriously expensive for portion size, my black and cheese burger was black literally , not cheese and certainly not crispy bacon one slice of fatty streaky bacon. My partners chicken and ribs was so dry he couldn’t eat, should have left when we see others get up and leave Who can’t cook a burger? Will never eat here again when in Southend.

User

Food seemed to be rationed for the Friday night Fush and Chip buffet, mushy peas dried out. No fish when we first went up, second time no fish they had run out. Not good customer service at all.

The waiter was grumpy and rude no manners, got our order wrong but the food was nice

Food seemed to be rationed for the Friday night Fush and Chip buffet, mushy peas dried out. No fish when we first went up, second time no fish they had run out. Not good customer service at all.
